Chapter 40: If I order, you have to follow it.

Cheng Juan couldn't help but frown at Liu Si Si's words. She sized up Yun Meiyi from top to bottom, but however she looked at her, she just couldn't think that woman could be capable enough to help Liu Si Si out in any way.

"Si Si, do you think she could help you in any way? Heh! Changing me from my position? Not everyone is capable of doing that. After all, did you forget that I got the award for the best manager in the company this year? Who would have the power to kick me out?"

She said and her words only made Yun Meiyi turn to look at the woman. Although in Meiyi's gaze there was nothing except nonchalance, Cheng Juan still believed that Yun Meiyi was looking at her with admiration.

So, with an expression of smugness, she boasted more, "In today's time, I have reached the peak of my career. Now, it won't be a lie if I say that I have got a Midas touch in my fingers. Whichever artiste I would guide would achieve success, without any doubt yet you want to change me. Seems like you have got too confident in yourself."

Liu Si Si heard her and couldn't help but roll her eyes. She really wanted to salute the audacity of the woman. She was flaunting her achievements like she had worked hard on achieving them when the whole company know what underhanded tricks she has used to get to the position.

"At least I am confident on my merit, unlike someone who is flexing her skills of leeching off others." Liu Si Si said before crossing her legs over one another and sitting back with more arrogance.

"Liu Si Si, aren't you becoming too outspoken today. I have come to take you for completing the commitments you have made and you are badmouthing me. Do you even know …" Before she could even complete her words, Yun Meiyi's words interrupted her.

The sleekness her words contained was enough to pause the manager not just in her words but also in her thoughts. "Manager Cheng, don't you think you are overdoing it? As far as I have the knowledge, managers are provided to the actresses to help them manage various things in their day-to-day life related to work, not to boss them around. Then how come from the beginning itself I am just hearing you order her around. Furthermore, Si Si is not just any actress under Feathering Heights. She is an A-list actress which only further elevates her rank and privileges."

Even though her voice came soft, it held a layer of intimidation that could easily make people forget their words. And the same happened with Cheng Juan. The moment she heard Yun Meiyi questioning her with such authority, she almost forgot to say anything.

But soon she recovered. Composing herself back in her attitude, she chuckled, "A-class actress! Heh! Did you really think that an A-lister always remains in the same position?"

She said and Yun Meiyi frowned at her words. She had not seen the starts going on in Feathering Heights for a long time. But as far as she can remember, with the acting skills of Liu Si Si, no one could challenge her position in the entertainment industry. Then what was actually happening?

Yun Meiyi didn't know what was happening, so she turned to look at Liu Si Si, who awkwardly avoided her. "Yi Yi, recently all my projects were snatched away by Wang Ping Ruo. And since there are not many resources I am offered, the company is deciding to …"

Before she could complete her words, Cheng Juan pompously heckled, "Snatched away! Yi Yi, aren't you exaggerating it? You were just incapable of being in front of Ruo Ruo. She doesn't pull tantrums like you. She does everything that I ask her to do. Not like you, always pretending as if you know better than me."

She said and for once Yun Meiyi's expression of nonchalance broke. She glared up at Cheng Juan at once, making her pause in her words before turning to look back at Liu Si Si to ask, "Why didn't you tell me this earlier? And since when is this happening?"

Liu Si Si wanted to cry out at the soft voice of her friend. After suffering in her career for months, now finally someone was there to ask her about it. But she wouldn't give Cheng Juan the pleasure to see her weak. So, holding her emotions in, she took a deep breath in to reply in the softest tone, "It has been like this for almost a year now. I was deliberately sent away from the country. How would I have reached you to inform you of everything? Furthermore, you have your own stuff to look after."

She said and then looked away with a guilty expression. Yun Meiyi felt pain in her heart. How did she become so busy in her life that she almost failed to look at all of these? In her existence, her friend was treated wrongly and she wasn't able to do anything to help her.

"Si Si, if you have complained enough, then let's go. I have wasted enough time on you." Cheng Juan said as she stepped forward to get a hold of Liu Si Si's arm when Yun Meiyi growled.

"You would no longer be associated with Si Si." Yun Meiyi said and her words like that dumbfounded the manager. Drawing the hand that was about to reach Liu Si Si, she crossed Yun Meiyi to ask.

"Who do you think you are to order me?"

Yun Meiyi raised her brows in her voice. Standing up on her foot, she challenged her with her sharp gaze to say, "You don't need to know who I am? Just keep in mind that if I order, you have to follow it." She said as she glowered down at her making her heart almost stop for a second in fear.
