"They have not treated me badly. So, you do not need to worry about me."
"But you!"
"Yes, they know that I have killed the man but they forgive me since it was self defence. As I said, you did not need to worry." she assured Olivia with a soft sigh as she could imagine how worried Olivia was for her.
Olivia stared at her and then at Alex with bewildered eyes.
"I have completed my side of the deal. Now it is your turn." she gulped, she felt in his trap.
From the start he knew that she was here to save her but she was never in danger. This pervert!
She hurled a few profanities but her mood changed like sudden weather. A mesmerising smile formed on her lips as she muttered, "she is targeting the men behind the selling of girls. She had found the papers of the men who had brought them from their empire to sell them here.
I did not know much detail but it is a group of knights that belong to another empire. She is one of the sold too.'' She is taking revenge from the people who bought and sold her!
"You can find them in a local inn. But I do not know which one." she smiled as if challenging him and then left from there.
"Then I shall leave."
"Are we just letting her go?" asked the guards as they looked into the direction of Olivia. Did she treat them as decorations! She can come and go whenever she wants to!
"Yes, let her go! But I never told you to not follow her. She knew way too much." The smirk on the face of the guards returned when Aiden followed Olivia.
"Master, I think we should check all the inns for those men too. What if the girl was not able to subdue them. They are dangerous."
"Yes, i think they have sold or molested her, that was why she is taking revenge but dealing with so many men is not easy.'' Alex, who was still looking at the distance, knew that dealing with so many men was difficult but the way she had dealt with the men in the auction house and killed them so meticulously, even though he was trapped in her plan.
"Yes, you can go and start looking for foreigners. I could not believe that it became the problem of our empire. If I had known that, I would not have accepted the invitation by the new emperor of the Sonarise empire." he muttered when many knights turned to look at him with sympathy.
Everyone knew that their master hated socialising but due to his strong position in the empire, he was called in every event up to the limit that it could give competition to the emperor and in each event, another empire or noble faction tried to poach him.
But he had never accepted it. He was loyal to this area, even though they did not understand why since he was not well recognized by the emperor here.
"Oh, I wonder who will take this time with you."
"Yes, I hope it is a woman this time.." the sound of their chuckling continued while Lia, who was still standing there, clenched her hands into fists.
She knew that Olivia had taken great difficulties in finding her and taking her yet she denied because in the past few days she had seen that these men have a lot of confidential information about their empire.
She would collect it and help their princess in the war she is planning to fight.
She continued to stand there with lowered head until she was sure that there was nothing worth listening to. Only then did she excuse herself and leave from there.
A flicker of ray passed Alex's eyes as his lips curved upwards when he felt Lia leaving.
"When are our supplies ending?" he asked suddenly, making everyone confused.
"We fill our supplies every month when the budget from the royal family comes. The next time is after three days." his dark eyes flickered as his smirk grew wider, confusing them.
"Lia is a woman, she would handle shopping better. Give her the budget and list of supplies. Ask her to buy our next budget."
"Huh! You mean, Asking her to come with us when we buy the supplies?" he stared back at Tavern who pointed but shook his head.
"No, I mean give her the whole budget and let her shop by herself. And if she needed to go more than once then let her do that.
But don't send any guards with her. A coachman would be enough since we have exterminated all the ruffians from the market already."
"But master, she is still a foreign woman who was sold once. She had that brand of slave. What if she gets into trouble." the knights could not help but ask. They were not against her but they did not think she was appropriate for a handline so much money that could bring the supplies of twenty knights for a month.
"You don't have to worry about it. Just do as I say. And make sure not to worry her too much." They exchanged glances as they did not understand what had gotten into him suddenly as he was worrying about the girl so much.
But they were obedient to her and learnt to follow his orders without any question so they nodded their heads.
"Alright, continue the training. I will join you in ten minutes." he patted the shoulder of the nearest knight when he left the training ground and walked back into the building.
But instead of going back to his room. He walked towards the kitchen and peeked in. Lia was writing something on a slip of paper which boosted his smile.
He stomped his feet forcefully into the ground and walked in when the girl hid the piece of paper in the box of spices.
"Lia. How do you know Oliver?"
