Chapter 2: Chapter 0 - Vengeance [2]

"You chose the wrong body, dark creature."

Min Jihoon raised his face. A grin was visible on his lips. Grimacing while gritting his teeth in pain, he stared back at the dark creature he had just summoned.

"I'll make sure you will die in my hand," he continued, without hesitation.

Byrhemmoth who was challenged by the human who was considered weak by him burst into laughter. So amused that he bent slightly to hold the tickle in his stomach.

"You seem to have guts too."

Without saying much, Jihoon started the attack. He tightened his stance, braced his legs, and pushed his body forward.

So suddenly when his strength was filled after feeling a lot of pain, Jihoon pushed his body forward while raising the sword high. While shouting in anger,

"I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU, BYRHEMMOTH!"

Byrhemmoth who was shouted with anger and glaring eyes from his enemy didn't want to lose.

He repelled Jihoon's attack just by reaching out and the black smoke appeared around his hand, then blocked Jihoon's attack.

"Humans are weak!" Byrhemmoth sneered. He looks happy with his eyes wide. "There's no use for you to shout like that!"

That made Jihoon mad. He pushed his body forward and didn't care about the attack splash Byrhemmoth gave.

"Why are you crying for the dead? It's no use! Just a waste of energy!"

Byrhemmoth seemed to be losing his temper.

He widened his eyes and snapped at Jihoon who didn't flinch. Pushing his body forward with a Skill that Byrhemmoth didn't know about.

"You didn't understand because you're a monster!" Jihoon replied to Byrhemmoth's words.

At that very moment, when he widened his eyes, a light appeared around Jihoon's eyes. It was golden yellow, then ….

[Cultural Festival Lv. S has been activated]

Words were floating above Jihoon. It was like a rectangular hologram, blue in color, and slightly glowing.

In an instant, a golden aura appeared around the sword he was holding, then absorbed some of the black aura– it was Byrhemmoth's dark element.

Byrhemmoth was pushed far enough and made him sit on the ground, then blinked for a few seconds before he laughed even louder.

"Human! You are so interesting!" praised Byrhemmoth.

He clutched his face in one hand. Still in laughter that seemed like it wouldn't stop.

Jihoon, who was overcome by anger, attacked Byrhemmoth again. The Skill that was given by Constellation of Parade was currently active without being asked and at that moment, he had to use it for as long as possible.

However, instead of receiving a single injury, Byrhemmoth disappeared from its place in the blink of an eye. Meanwhile, Jihoon, who launched an attack, only attacked the wind.

Jihoon held his body. He looked up for Byrhemmoth's whereabouts and then– bingo. His guess was right, but there was no time to dodge.

BRAK!!!

By using the darkness element, the smoke that surrounds him forms a solid and attacks Jihoon like a mosquito.

The voice was so loud that made Byrhemmoth's grin widen. However, after a long time due to no reaction at all, he was curious.

He raised the dense, hand-shaped smoke, looking at what was beneath him. Successfully widening his eyes, Byrhemmoth saw Min Jihoon warding off his attack with a sword that seemed to break easily.

The dark creature didn't want to accept it. He didn't like the passionate zeal of the humans in front of him just to avenge the death of his fellow humans.

"Why are you crying for dead?" asked Byrhemmoth, curious.

He stopped the attack for a while. Asked Jihoon again, who was getting more and more difficult to breathe.

"There's no point in you doing this. Just a waste of energy."

He said it many times, but Jihoon still held firm. To be more precise, he was stubborn.

Jihoon wiped the blood from his lips. Of course, his lips were bleeding after he had bitten them to endure the pain all over his body.

"You don't understand because you're a monster."

He had said the same thing twice and twice Byrhemmoth laughed so hard at Jihoon's cold response.

At that time, Jihoon was off guard. When he looked up, the attack hit Jihoon again.

Byrhemmoth used his dark element to form a mace and attacked Jihoon from the side; making Jihoon bounce and hit several trees until the trees fell.

Many trees were destroyed by the Byrhemmoth's attack so they quickly billowed from the ground that was hit.

Jihoon sat down coughing after being hit by the Byrhemmoth's attack. Too much sand around him that he couldn't see the Byrhemmoth's whereabouts either.

Only the voice could be heard clearly.

"I think you're getting weaker–"

A silhouette appears on Jihoon's left. It looked like his friend who was the same height as him –179 cm– was slowly approaching Jihoon.

"Well, you were weak before," continued Byrhemmoth.

Instead of standing up to attack again, Jihoon's body couldn't move. Being stiff as a rock, his whole body felt excruciatingly painful.

Is there blood?

Jihoon doesn't care about the amount of blood that comes out of his body, he's had enough to smell the fishy smell on the clothes he's wearing.

In the end, Jihoon lowered his head. To move the mouth alone feels very difficult.

Footsteps stopped right in front of Jihoon and he already knew who it was.

"Oh, what the hell is this?"

Byrhemmoth stopped right in front of him.

Those are brown leather boots that Shintae always wears. A friend who makes Jihoon feel comfortable whenever he is in a dangerous place.

"You cried for your friend who died and left his body?"

Laughing at Jihoon who is grieving his friend's passing.

Ah, whether Shintae was alive or not, he didn't know what his next move would be.

Did he have to kill both Byrhemmoth and Shintae?

"Choi Shintae …."

Jihoon mumbled, causing Byrhemmoth to shut his mouth tightly.

He raised his head. Showing a sharp gaze more than before. Aiming at Byrhemmoth who was suddenly unable to move after seeing such sharp yellow eyes.

"It's not like you said …," Jihoon replied coldly.

Byrhemmoth bared his fangs as a smirk graced his lips. Unable to contain the amusement that was witnessed in front of his eyes, he answered spontaneously.

"Then what?" he asked.

"Your body is already unable to contain much strength. What has a sponsor done to someone like you?"

Again, Byrhemmoth talked about Jihoon's sponsor, but the one who took the blame chose to remain silent.

"I feel sorry for your sponsor."

Until that word, Jihoon couldn't help but keep quiet.

Eyes filled with resistance fell on the Byrhemmoth. This time, anger and hatred mixed into one, even more so than before.

When his lips dried and the scar stained the corners of Jihoon's lips, he raised his voice.

"You'd better shut up your mouth and find your death."

[The Cry of Bondage Lv. S has been activated]

"Hm?"

Hearing those cold and bone-chilling words on Shintae's body made Byrhemmoth feel curious.

He looked where Jihoon was looking. Looking up, see what's happening up there.

But, instead of answering, his eyes successfully widened. Byrhemmoth's face turned red with his mouth open when he looked up at the sky.

An enormous sword and many kinds of weapons were drifting and aimed at him.

There was no time to dodge, plus when he lowered his gaze, hands appeared from the ground holding his legs.

Byrhemmoth gritted his teeth. Annoyed.

"Damn–"
