Chapter 11: Spending Time With Elizabeth: Part One
Still depressed about not being able to use the skill point on his new skill, Xiao Ying left the training room and walked upstairs to his room. It seemed that everyone was already in their rooms, cultivating for the night.
Reaching his room, he decided to just go to sleep; after all, he was exhausted after that spar.
Once again, his few hours sleep was filled with the same old nightmare. He kept being killed over and over by his wife in this nightmare.
After a few hours, Xiao Ying woke up a couple hours before midnight. He just couldn't sleep anymore tonight.
Since sleep wasn't an option for the rest of the night, he got an urge to cultivate.
Instead of leading him into the depths of despair, the nightmares gave him a drive to get stronger; to make sure that this would never happen to him again!
Filling his mind with thoughts of slaughter, Xiao Ying began to cultivate. He cultivated until morning.
When morning came, he did his daily quest and allocated his acquired stat points to absorption, bring it up to 16.
After his morning workout, he took a shower, and put on some black sweat pants and a muscle shirt.
Going down stairs, Xiao Ying ate breakfast with his family.
"Mmmm, so good!" He complimented Erica's cooking.
"Oh, thank you, Xiao Ying. You're so sweet." Erica told him.
Butting in, Dan said, "That spar last night was fun. You've definitely got to get to the peak of the Physique Tempering Phase so that I can go all out against you."
"Yeah, I can't wait!" Xiao Ying spoke in high spirits.
"Hey, I just noticed you look different. Instead of having big muscles like me, they are compact. You're also lean as well. I'm guessing the manual you cultivate emphasizes agility and strength, huh?" Dan noticed.
"You can say that," He didn't answer completely.
"Hey, Elizabeth, you ready?" Xiao Ying question her.
"Yeah, let me finish this last plate, and then we can go." Elizabeth was eating.
Nodding his head, Xiao Ying went to go grab his dagger from his room.
'You never know when you might need it,' he thought as he hid it in his pants; a concealed weapon.
After that, he went back downstairs, before he panel appeared, indicating he had received a quest.

Disregarding the panel, he walked up to Elizabeth.
"Are you ready, Xiao Ying?" She asked before he could.
"Yeah, I'm ready when you are. Lead the way, Milady," Xiao Ying said before doing a funny looking bow.
"Haha, look at you being a gentleman." she giggled.
"We'll be back later!" Xiao Ying yelled before they both walked out of the door.
"So where to first?"
"I think I want to go look at some clothes first."
"Okay, I'm following you."
After that, she started walking toward her destination.
"So, Dan told me that you beat him in a spar?"
"Yeah. I'm pretty sure it was a fluke, though. He didn't exactly get the chance to fight while going out."
"True, but he told me that you surprised him with your strength. He said your dagger could actually draw blood from him. And with a wooden weapon, no less. That's something."
"Really? Is it that big of a deal?"
"Sure is. My brother cultivates a manual that emphasizes strength and defense, which is why his muscles are so big. So, yeah that's a big deal; especially with your cultivation base at the Early Physique Tempering Phase."
"Maybe the cultivation manual I cultivate is more profound or something?"
"Possibly."
"What's your cultivation?"
"Unlike my brother, I am a Mid Physique Tempering Phase cultivator."
Oh cool! Maybe we should spar…if you don't mind."
"Yeah, maybe. Anyways, we're here."
While they were talking, they had reached the clothes store Elizabeth wanted to go to.
They went inside and started shopping.
About an hour later, they left the shop with around 4 bags full of clothes
"What can I say? I like clothes!" Elizabeth laughed as Xiao Ying stared at her like she was weird.
Xiao Ying laughed as well.
"So where to next?" He inquired.
"Shoes. Definitely shoes."
After that, they started walking to another store Elizabeth had wanted to go to.
"Xiao Ying, I think you're a cool guy. You aren't some stuck-up arrogant dude that brags about winning a fight or something like that."
"Really? I just don't think winning a fight matters."
"Yeah, and you're nice too. I want to thank you for coming out with me today. I don't exactly have many friends and so it's not to have company sometimes."
"Ohohoho! Look at what we got here, boy! A fine 'lil thing!" A voice interrupted their conversation.
Looking around them, five men had surrounded them. Together, they emitted an overwhelming pressure.
"How about we take this into this here alley?" the one that interrupted them pointed at an alley.
With his face hardening and his aura becoming cold, Xiao Ying whispered to Elizabeth, "Come on. Go into the alley. They seem to be Mid Physique Tempering Phase Cultivators. They're much weaker than your brother. Let's obey…..for now."
And with that, they went into the alley with the five men following them.
As they reached deep into the alley, Elizabeth and Xiao Ying both turned around.
"So, what do you guy want?" Xiao Ying asked coldly.
"All of your possessions of course." The one that has been speaking, which seemed like the leader, spoke.
"Aye, boss. What about that pretty piece of ass of there?" One of the five men said.
"Oh, you all want the girl too?" The leader asked.
"Yeah!" All of them answered at the same time.
"Well, you heard 'em. Hand over all of your belongings and the girl." The leader said.
Getting in front of Elizabeth, Xiao Ying spoke, "I don't think we can do that."
"Boys! Hold him down."
Setting the bags down, Xiao Ying acted. He didn't want to kill anyone, so he didn't pull out his dagger.
He ran up to one and punched him in the face. The impact hurt his knuckles and wrist.
"Fuck! These fuckers bodies are so tough!"
The one that got punched started laughing before throwing a punch of his own at Xiao Ying's face.
Xiao Ying couldn't react fast enough and was hit in the face. He was knocked to the floor, dazed.
Looking up, he saw that two had grabbed Elizabeth by her arms and brought her before their leader.
"No! Elizabeth!" Xiao Ying tried to get up, but he was too dizzy due to the punch he had suffered.
"Let me taste her first boys! Hold her against the wall." The leader spoke
The two men walked up to one of the walls and put both of her hands against it. She couldn't resist no matter how hard she tried.
"Mmm, I'm going to enjoy this." The leader said evilly.
