Chapter 13: C13: Awakening Power

Walking into the room Valerie and Gasper share I immediately raised my arms and caught the flying bullet known as Gasper as he flew into my arms with Valerie walking just behind him and joined the hug.
"I guess you two missed me then? Good to know." I said with a laugh as Valerie lightly hit my arm in response while Gasper just continued hugging me.
"I know that you're busy but you should visit us more. Gasper has been getting impatient since he wants to watch the latest episodes of Joruto." Valerie said while giving me an accusatory stare.
"Yeah yeah I'm sorry. We can watch Joruto later, I have something to ask you both. You both have sacred gears so do you want to awaken them?" I casually dropped the bomb on the two of them making them look at me wide-eyed.
In the original story, Gasper awakened his sacred gear at some point during his early life, and because he couldn't control it and his status as a dhampir he was abused and mistreated making him have agoraphobia but luckily I was able to help him with that. Gasper may still sleep in a cardboard box but that's fairly common amongst us vampires since it's less expensive than a coffin and it works fine as a bed.
"We have sacred gears?! Why didn't you tell us! I could have been like Joruto!" Gasper screamed out while Valerie broke out of her shock and began chuckling but excitement was firmly on her face now.
"Well it's a bit complicated but I won't bore you with the details. Anyways you know how to do it right? Just think of the strongest thing you know and bring up your desire to become stronger." I said while putting up a barrier around the room with a smile on my face. "So who wants to go first?"
"Me me me I'll do it!" Gasped shouted excitedly, basically pleading to be the one to go. I guess he's more excited to be like Joruto than I thought.
Before long Gasper was in the middle of the room with brows creased in concentration while Valerie was next to me at the wall in case something happens.
After a few seconds his eyes opened with a strange pattern and time stopped where he looked, of course, I wasn't affected but it was still impressive, and an instant later a deep black mist came from Gasper's body and filled the entire room completely. In the mist, I could see various bats, wolves, and other shadow creatures all with Gasper's ability to stop time.
However, even though it's impressive, it's also expensive for Gasper's current energy levels so not even a second later Gasper began falling to the ground from exhaustion with the darkness going back into his body.
Catching him and gently laying him on the bed I put him on his bed with a decent level barrier since this next one might be bad if I don't. I still don't understand how the Sephiroth Grail, one of the holiest objects in history, is inhabiting the body of a vampire, a creature of the night.
"Is Gasper all right? He looked really tired…" Valerie asked, worried about her dress-up doll and non-blood-related younger brother.
"He's fine he just overused his sacred gear since it was the first time he used it, he'll get better with practice." I said while gently pushing Valerie into the middle of the room for her turn.
After a moment of hesitation from Gasper's show, Valerie gained a look of determination while looking at me and closed her eyes in concentration.
A few seconds of silence later I could feel it, the overwhelming holy aura of the Sephiroth Grail coming from her body. I remember in the story she had a mutation that gave her three grails and I can see the effects now. The holy aura is much more impressive than I would've thought possible and it makes sense since it's coming from three grails, not one.
Floating in front of Valerie in all their glowy goodness were three golden chalices with each having an incredible amount of holy aura radiating from them. They were strong. It was easy to tell but they're also troublemakers and troublemakers like them need to be punished before they go too far.
Placing a hand on Valerie's back I supplied her with some energy so she could last until the end of the process and brought her and her sacred gear into my mental world.
It was a simple place, a pure white landscape with Asuramaru sticking out of the ground but this is where I'm my most powerful. In here we battle in my strong point, desires but I digress.
"Ashera, where are we? Weren't we just in Arce Noctis? I didn't feel like teleportation?" Valerie said with surprise and a small amount of concern. If somebody could teleport us in my flying fortress I would be worried too, luckily it was just me.
"Welcome to my mental world! It's nothing impressive but it's mine, what do you think Valerie?" I said with the strange distortion effect that comes from being in this space.
"It's interesting but it's a little bland is this your mind little brother? Where are all the dirty things that boys your age watch?" Valerie asked with a fake confused expression that couldn't hide her amused and teasing grin.
"Ehm. Not the time sis and that's not what this place is." I said with a small cough trying to throw away any embarrassment she made, if I showed I was flustered she wins! I can't let her win! I'm the 1st Progenitor! She'll tease me for days!
Coughing one more time at her amused face I distracted myself with my original goal, showing a naughty child how to act. Placing my hands on the chalices one by one I had a small mental battle where I viciously bea- I mean taught them how to treat my sister. Luckily they were very~ cooperative.
With my goal done Valerie and I left my mental space and she immediately fell to the ground in exhaustion just like Gasper. While she was in my mental space she couldn't feel her body's exhaustion so when it all came crashing down on her she passed out in an instant.
Placing her next to Gasper I moved a strand of hair away from her eyes and covered her in her blanket before leaving the room.
"Sleep well you two." I said before closing the door quietly behind me.
