Chapter 46: Ch.46 Meet the Greengrass.
I was seen to my room by Frody, Florian and Bella needed some time together with their daughters. "This will be your room until your stay here, sir." He snapped his fingers and the door opened showing a great white room, I stepped inside to get a good feel of the room. It had king size bed on its right side, in front of it was a book shelf filled with books, on the left was a big closet and right next to it was a bathroom which baffled me because on that side was a hallway which I came from.
I put my suitcase on the bed and walked towards the end of the room towards the large window which was starting to gather little snow from the fall. I looked at Frody and with a satisfied smile said, "Florian has a great guest room."
Florian shook his head and said, "Correction sir, this is not the guess wing, this wing is used by main family… master specifically instructed for you to be in this room, hence I had to make some adjustments."
I hummed and then realised why there was bathroom and why it kinda didn't make architectural sense. "If you need anything of Frody, just call, I'll be at your service."
Saying his piece the elf vanished. I closed the door and laid down on the bed, it was a bit too soft for my taste but it was comfortable nonetheless.
Cotton slithered out of my pocket and looked at the room and said in a sly tone, "Hmm, they seem to be talking good care of you."
I hummed and said, "I am his business partner."
She chuckled and crawled her way to my chest and looked me in my eyes and said, "You sure it's just about that?"

I was sitting on my bed with a pad on my lap and a pen in my hand and was writing down the songs that I would record. The lyrics aren't my real problem or even the singing part. My real problem is the music, to accurately create the melody I need and it has been quite the challenge.
As I was working on the songs I heard a knock on the door "Can I come in?" It was Daphne. I hummed "Yeah, come on in." She opened the door and walked in, "Oh, you're working…" I looked up and she said, "I can come back, if you want."
I shook my head and said, "No, it's fine… actually I could use your help…"
She raised her eyebrows "Oh." I patted my bed and said, "Come on sit." She sat by my side and I took out the guitar out of the case and tuned it. I strummed the guitar and said, "Let me know if it's good." She hummed and nodded excitedly.

I saw the look in her eyes her eyes, they had never shined so bright. It made me feel happy to see her so happy. So I put my all when I sang for her.

She cupped her hands and I looked at her and asked, "How was it?" She shook head and said, "I-It was good… you should work alone… I'm only disturbing you." She quickly got up and I tried to make her stay but she left.
I took hold of my guitar and started playing again.
(Daphne's Pov)
I quickly left the room and slammed the door. I leaned on the door and took a hold of my breath, after hearing his song. It made my heart melt and crushed it at the same time. Why? That's the thing that was circling in my mind. Why is he making me like this? Again the music of his guitar rang in my ears, his voice pierced my heart again

I sighed and rested my head on the door, my heart was leaping out of my chest, what is this?
(Jon's PoV)
I was working on my music when someone opened the door and quickly rushed into my room, it was Astoria. She jumped on my bed and I quickly moved the guitar out of the way. She giggled and I sighed "You little minx… you could have been hurt."
She rolled around in the bed and in a muffled voice I heard, "You are here…. Nothing could hurt me." She has way to much confidence in my I put the pad down and picked her up and asked, "What do you want I'm busy."
She pouted and huffed, "You are always busy!" I chuckled and she said, "I came to tell you that dinner is ready."
I looked outside and it was dark, I put Astoria on my shoulder and said, "Come on, let's go eat."
She guided me to where the dinning room was, the whole time on my back she commanded me like I was her war elephant. It was rather amusing. We reached the dinning room and I saw Daphne already seated along with Bella while Florian was missing. Bella looked at us and said with a pleasant smile, "Having fun dear?"
Astoria giggled and said, "Yes, I'm so tall." I put her down and patted her head, "Not any more shortcake." I sat opposite to Daphne, while Astoria sat next to me. I was looking around while Bella said, "Florian will be joining us shortly." She took the small bell next to her and she rang it. Frody appeared with soup and placed each of a bowl.
I took a look at it and it was a tomato soup, I wished that I had grilled cheese right now. I took the soup spoon and started the meal. "So Jon, how's school? How are your studies going?"
I nodded and said, "They are going well, there was the incident a few months ago, I believe you know about it? But aside from that everything has been as it should be."
She chucked and said, "Yes, Florian and Daphne has told me things, but I believe something's have been left out… as they should be." Daphne looked at me with guilty eyes and I nodded. She took a sip of water and asked, "So, Jon Daphne here tells me that you are quite good in dueling is that true?"
I chuckled and said, "Well, that is the case as it stands but the opponent that I have faced are sub-par at best or children… so I wouldn't boast about it too much."
She nodded and sipped the soup, "That is a good attitude, Jon… most wizards your age like to boast about their accomplishments… not you though and it's good… jealousy is a damnable emotion in our world."
After the soup was finished, Frody brought out the main course it was Salmon and it looked juicy and fresh. Bella said, "Caught straight from the ocean, take a bite." I took a bite and it practically melted in my mouth. I couldn't help but voice my satisfaction. "It's heavenly, I tell you."
Bella smiled and said, "Thank you, I must say Jon… you aren't like the other."
Daphne under her breath something that I didn't quite pick up. I chuckled and said, "I don't know to thank you or to question what you said."
Bella picked up her glass of wine and asked, "I meant it as a compliment, no wizard your age could have done what you are doing. Rebuilding a family that's been destroyed and disgraced… it's a monumental challenge. For anyone of any age, yet you are doing it quite gracefully."
Daphne looked at her mom asking to stop but she didn't "If you don't mind me asking what was the reason behind your inventions? It couldn't have just been for monetary reasons?"
I looked at her and thought for a moment, I sighed and sat back on the chair, "It might have started as because of it but it soon became something more. I am as you say different… I am who I am because I came from muggles side of the world… when I came here I was amazed by everything. Wizards have done amazing things in their time. The advancements that they have achieved is nothing but marvelous but at the same time it seems stagnant in their old ways."
Bella's eyes shined as though I have caught her intrigue, "Muggles may not have magic, but are advancing in their own way and they do that because they can move forward and I think we need to do the same."
She smiled and said, "You think we should be changing? Then who get's to decide that change?"
As I was about to answer her someone entered the room hurriedly, "Oh, come on Bella, he's been here one day" Daphne and Astoria looked at Florian who came and Daphne sighed and said, "Thank Merlin, you are here."
Florian chuckled and Bella said, "I was just asking why he did what he did?" And Florian looked at his wife in disappointment while She just gave him a sly look and a wink. Florian sighed and said, "Jon, if you are done… meet me in the study."
I nodded and got up but then I turned around and said, "To answer your question Mrs. Greengrass. The ones who hold power are always at the helm of the change, they will decide and guide the future of the world."
She smiled and nodded in approval, while Florian sighed I started to walk towards Florian while she stopped me and said, "Call me Bella…" Under her breath she said, "Mother would be fine as well." Daphne and I heard that and that made Daphne blush. I chuckled and said, "Bella, is fine." Florian patted my back and we went on our way to the study.
