Chapter 9: Fukurodani vs Itachiyama (FINALS-2)

The time out ended and the teams got into their positions. Boukto sent a well placed serve but Komori got to it. Sakusa got a quick point using a block out.

Itachiyama were quick to utilize their pinch server by substituting them. He managed to get a few points using jump floaters. He seemed to specialize in making the ball drop as soon as it passes the net and the receivers had trouble getting it. Luckily Haruki managed to receive it by diving forward.

Using the break in service ace they tried to catch up to Itachiyama score but Itachiyama had gained the lead using their pinch server. Murasakibara tried his best but his teammates were slower than him and couldn't keep up. They changed it into a more split up version of jump shift to keep up with him.

All of this was in vain as the timing of the pinch server allowed them to close the set with a win. 25:22

"I just want to be a normal ace." Bokuto said to no one in particular, "This is my last chance towards winning nationals and I might never get teammates who always covered for me. That's why from now on I will get points and lead the team to victory like a normal ace and captain."

Bokuto had seemed on edge and extra focused the entire match. Akaashi believed it to be because of Sakusa but things were different. People seemed to underestimate Bokuto due to how easily he loses concentration and never seems to realize just how good he could be if he did not have such a big weakness.

"And I will toss to the star of the court.", Akaashi says. Komi pats Akaashi saying, "Most people forget you are just as weird Akaashi. You should relax sometimes."

Akaashi turns to him and says, "But I am relaxed."

"You can't really read his emotions with that face" Surukui mutters.

"Two blockers should commit block Sukusu. I will stop the others so focus on him." Murasakibara says to the team.

"It's Sakusa." Komi whispers under his breath.

The next set started and Bokuto immediately started showing a difference. His sharp focus allowed him to shoot though the smallest of gaps in the blocks. The opposing blockers tried their best but reading his body became incredibly different.

Unlike before he seemed to not favor any shot or position. He tried to hit any shot sent his way with the utmost precision. Akaashi made good use of his state and sent more sets his way.

The opposing offense had also taken a hit. Sakusa always had two blockers on him and his captain could do little to break a commit block. Murasakibara on the other hand had half a court to himself and moved freely without any opposition. He showed his reach managing to get a hand on every ball.

Anyone could tell that Itachiyama were having troubles when Akaashi got a point of a dump shot. Bokuto was on a roll racking up more points and dodging the blockers and receivers.

When Bokuto went back to serve and started showing his aim by getting a point by hitting an insane shot that fell on the line. Itachiyama immediately called a time out in an attempt to break his concentration.

The time out felt incredibly short and they soon got into positions. Bokuto seemed to be unaffected by the entire thing and got another service ace. He showed his wit when he sent an incredibly weak hit that just crossed the net and started to fall. Komori was the fastest to react and just barely managed to reach the ball.

Unfortunately the ball went back into Fukurodani's side where Konoha spiked it down right there.

The whole stadium started cheering Bokuto which fed his enthusiasm even more. Unlike servers like Miya Atsumu, Bokuto fed on such energy and sent another powerful serve.

However Kiyoomi got the ball up and immediately started to run forward to spike. He turned his body looking to spike a cross shot away from the two blockers but Murasakibara came from nowhere and immediately shut him down.

When Kiyoomi landed he swore he saw a violet aura around Murasakibara but that soon dissapeared.

Itachiyama tried to catch up but they just couldn't. Bokuto when completely charged up could go head to head against a top three ace and win. On the other hand Murasakibara was completely shutting down the others with his blocks. Akaashi was using the opponent's panic and doing more feints and even using Bokuto as a decoy.

Fukurodani won the final set with an overwhelming victory of 25:16 and moved on to the finals as Tokyo's first representative.

AN: Bokuto finally awakens his true talent way before he does in the manga. A hint of Murasakibara's beast is shown and will be revealed in anther good match up.

On that note I have been feeling as if I have been focusing on Fukurodani as a whole instead of just the mc Murasakibara. Should this change?
