Chapter 65: Revealing Her Magic

Yavanna sat still, her mind still foggy from what he'd done to her. Her heart began to pound quicker in her ribcage and she swallowed nervously. He was staring at her, his eyes the calmest blue she'd ever seen.

Her eyes widened when the pieces began to fit together. She gasped and began to gather her energy, Yavanna's breath became strained and she frowned when she saw his relaxed eyes become alert.

Just like before, when she felt as though she would combust, she vanished and appeared near the bed. Her legs shook and she collapsed onto it. She looked up, to make sure he hadn't followed her, but he was sitting in the same spot. His bright gaze still trained on her.

He had…kissed her neck. Her ears burned so painfully she rubbed them in an attempt to stop it. Pulling herself up, Yavanna sat on the bed. His bed.

"Why—" She exhaled shakily when she noticed the tremor in her voice. "Why am I here?"

He moved his elbow, his hair suddenly draping over his eyes and her heart flipped. Propping his chin on his hand, he said in a tone of voice she'd never once heard from him, "You're here because I want you to be."

Her mind flashed back to his voice in the dark. The way it had elicited shivers from her. It scared her how much she enjoyed it. She would do it again, and she was terrified that she wanted to. But…she wanted to shiver under his touch, from his breath, his words. And those kisses and that heat…

She blinked herself out of the stupor she'd put herself in. "But..won't people talk?" Her body was now hot and uncomfortable.

He smirked lazily, "They already do, Yavanna." He stood and stalked towards the bed, it was more of a stroll, but with how wired Yavanna felt, he looked to be her doom. When he reached the bed she tucked her legs up. "And do you know what they say?"

She shook her head mutely, her eyes stretched wide.

He grinned, a beautiful grin, and she forgot how to breathe at the sight of it. "They say that I have no interest in you."

She released a breath that she forgot she was holding and stumbled to respond. Her mind immediately returned to when he had spat those words at her. She nearly flinched when she remembered the repulsed look in his eyes. "We-well you don't." She eventually said slowly.

He scoffed, his amazingly white teeth still showing, "You honestly believe that?"

Her brow furrowed and she retreated further into the bed, wary from his expression. His eyes were trained on her as though he was hunting. But, he didn't know what he was hunting. He thought she was still that harmless girl he had married two months ago.

Yavanna raised her chin at the thought. She wasn't weak anymore.

"You said it yourself." She replied, surprised at the strength in her voice. She stood from the bed and was pleased to see him confused at her attitude. As she stepped forward, she jutted her finger at him, accusing him, "You told me, your own wife, that nothing about me was beautiful, and nothing ever would be. That I couldn't please you, and that everything about me was disgusting and revolting to you."

She panted, her emotions betraying her. His words had become engraved within her, carved out by a his fork of a tongue . She chanced a look at him and found that his relaxed atmosphere was gone. He was covered in a shroud of shame and she felt a shard of satisfaction.

"So, yes I believe that you have no interest in me whatsoever. You told me so yourself. Vividly."

She had backed him up against a wall, and now he stood towering over her. His blond hair still draped over his eyes, reminding her of wheat fields against a vibrant blue sky. Yavanna's hands that were clenched at her sides itched to brush the soft strands away, but she stopped that daydream before anything could come of it.

"I'm sorry." He rasped and her eyes darted to connect with his. Sorry? "Yes. I'm truly, very sorry, Yavanna."

She blinked and felt an uncomfortable confusion rise in herself. "I was angry, and upset." He continued and she found her feet straying further from him, and he followed her. "And the words I said were nothing but lies." His hand shot out and she flinched.

Instead of striking her, as she thought he would, Yavanna felt his fingers under her chin. His touch sent goosebumps across her tense body and she stiffened further from the foreign sensation.

When she felt strong enough to meet his gaze her knees nearly buckled from the…softness in it.

No! No. This was all wrong. She vanished and appeared near the couch, the couch where he had taken her blood and coaxed those small tasks from her. She grabbed her head and began to pace, "What are you trying to do here? You tell me you hate me, and then you say it was a lie. What else was a lie? Your love for Mirella—"

He appeared behind her and before she could react he grabbed her arms, gently, but with enough force to keep her in place. Struggling was pointless. But she hated feeling so helpless.

"I can't explain it." He whispered after what felt like a millennia had passed. "But I need you."

Her heart raced within her and she could feel his booming against her back. "I don't like this." She murmured frantically.

"Don't like what? My need for you, or the fact that you enjoy this?"

"I don't enjoy this!" She yelled, breaking free of his hold. How could he think she enjoyed this for one moment?

"No?" He continued and she grabbed her head with her hand, feeling desperation strangling her, tighter and tighter. "You didn't enjoy sharing your blood with me? You didn't enjoy my touch? I know you did, Yavanna. There are very few things a man knows about a woman, but he knows when his woman enjoys his attention."

Her ears burned but she stood firm, "Does he? I have a feeling that isn't true." Her volume dwindled as she spoke though. His eyes were staring at her like Maxwell's hunting dogs. Lurking and waiting to pounce. Her heart thrummed excitedly and she swallowed a lump in her throat. What was wrong with her?

"I am not your woman." She said firmly after being lost in her thoughts.

He smirked and she narrowed her eyes. Focusing, she caused a strong gust of wind to come from behind him, hot and fierce. Like Viland's on a hot summer day in the eastern region.

He rubbed his head, his eyes bewildered for a moment before he met her eyes. She smirked this time and walked towards the door. Just when her hand reached the handle, the lights were snuffed out.

She stopped and waited. Maybe he wanted more of her blood. Or maybe…panic grew in her chest and she began to grow her magic within her again. Light. A little light was all she wanted.

Her eyes began to strain and she winced, but she was almost there. Just when her eyes began to scream in pain, light burst from her hands and she heard a shout.

Amory stood before her and he grabbed her arms and pinned them above her head, the light going out once more.

"What do you think you're doing?"
