Chapter 5: Kindness leads to death
As Zane left the building he cut through the alleyways trying not to get spotted by any zombies and rushed onward to the drug store in the distance.
Zane moved quickly but quietly while peeping around corners trying not to attract any zombies as he didn't want to deal with them but dealt with any he came across. As he looked around the corners he saw a hoard of zombies and quickly retracted his head making a slight noise that some zombies heard and came to investigate.
Zane heard them coming as the zombies groaned while walking towards the sound they heard. Zane quickly hid behind a trash can and waited for the zombies to get closer and as soon as they got in his range he dashed out like a bull straight at the zombies and killed two in one swing then quickly turned and executed the other two.
As he was fighting he made some sounds alerting other zombies so he had to quickly run inside the apartment building he was next to and quietly close the door trying to minimize the sound as much as possible.
He quickly ran and killed the two zombies in the hallway and ran to the ceiling and saw a building close to the side of the building he was on but the drop would surely kill him. He mustered up the courage and ran at his max speed and jumped.
"Ah, shi-"
As he landed on the ground face first that was all he could say to prepare for the pain.
[Would You Like To Respawn?]
[Yes] [No]
"Yes!" Zane said,
As he woke up he quickly became alert and looked around for another building to jump on and sure enough a building of the same height and extremely close to the building was there so he quickly ran and jumped onto the building.
When he was about to jump to another building he heard someone shouting as a horde of zombies were chasing them.
"HELP, HELP, HELP US PLEASE!" the girl in the group of 3 shouted begging for help,
"Is she stupid? If you shout you just attract more zombies and make things more difficult." Zane said,
As Zane was about to leave the girl spotted him and begged him to save them.
"YOU ON THE ROOF PLEASE HELP US!" The girl shouted,
"PLEASE COME DOWN AND HELP US!" One of the guys yelled,
As Zane watched them struggle to escape he saw a guy throw the sheet down to them and the girl quickly climbed up as the two guys tried to hold off the horde of zombies using the environment around them.
As the girl quickly climbed to the top she quickly thanked the guy and the leader of the group quickly climbed up the sheet and got to the top but the last guy was struggling to keep the horde back by himself and was being forced into a bad situation. The girl and the leader didn't want to lose the strongest member of their team to a weak-looking guy. Hence, they hit him at the back of his head with a thick stick the guy had as a weapon and threw him out the window to distract the zombies for a bit and it worked allowing the guy to get high enough and eventually climb in.
As Zane watched this unfold he reminded himself to never save anyone no matter how kind they may look as kindness in this world lead to death.
As they all got up they glared at Zane and threatened to kill him with hand gestures and shut the window and put the blind over it.
"Hahahaha they want to kill me? That's the funniest joke I have heard all day but let's get going before it gets too late." Zane said as he started jumping from building to building.
Although it worked for a while he eventually didn't have any more buildings to jump on as he met a road but luckily from all that screaming the girl did earlier all the zombies were lowered to their location so Zane just jumped on the road from the high building he was on and died.
[Would You Like To Respawn?]
[Yes] [No]
"Yes!"
"It will take me a while to get used to that," Zane said while thinking about the feeling of dying,
"At least we are close to the drug and gun store now," Zane said,
Zane quickly moved into the alley's ways and killed any lurking zombies gaining as much XP as possible before he finally arrived at the gun store!
"Status!"

"It's time to get geared up!" Zane said
