Chapter 8: Entrance Ceremony (2)
After a few minutes of searching for any signs of a grimoire, I was finally able to find one unfortunately, it was not the grimoire I was searching for but nonetheless, it was a great find on my part.
The book is named,
[The Hawk], the ability it gives to the one who finds the grimoire is nothing more than just the ability to be able to look at farther distances.
The skill is quite useful, so I decided to use a grimoire for myself. Surprisingly not many people come to the library anymore after the invention of the phones and smartwatches which is why many books have yet to be discovered.
Even the book of telekinesis was only found by accident during one of the fights against the demon contractors that came into the library while escaping.
[The Hawk], seems to be a passive skill as it cannot be turned off.
Soon after reading the book I decided to keep looking for it, and thankfully, my new skill allowed me to find it quite easily, only issue was that I was currently too small to reach it and there seemed to be no ladder near me.
I shamefully walked over to Alicia and Monica, who were talking to each other, and asked for a ladder, after laughing at me for a couple of seconds, Monica gave me the ladder and I was finally on my way.
After struggling to set the ladder correctly, I was able to get my hands on the book, the grimoire was named [Tales of the Mind], which had the telekinesis talent, and without a second thought, I immediately learned the talent.

Now, would be a good time to explain magic. Magic is the ability to use mana and wield it as one pleases, while magic can allow the user to do anything with it, there are some restrictions on the talent of the individual and their stats.
The magic stat pretty much just refers to how much mana one has in their body, it doesn't actually mean anything other than that, but this is directly connected with magic power, as the more mana you have, the longer you can fight, the longer you can hold a spell, the higher the spells you can use and a lot more.
Nonetheless, the ability to wield mana as how one pleases comes from one's talents, for example, someone could have SS+ mana, but if their talent is in the field of a swordsman, then they will not be able to cast a spell and only be able to use it to strengthen their swords with magic power.
I have a magicians talent, so I'm able to create spells as I please but telekinesis is like a different class of magician, for example, Monica doesn't have the talent for being a magician but talent for telekinesis so by using her mana she can only use it to use it for telekinesis.
there are also other classes of talents like flame wizards, and ice wizards, and those are actually advanced classes that one can achieve after honing their magic for that one element, but that takes years, and to even do so, one must have the talent for being a wizard.
Swords, spears, and all close combat weapons as well as ranged weapons like bows, actually don't require the user to have mastery over an element, it pretty much just depends on the artifact they possess. If your artifact has a fire attribute then when you input your mana, it will only create fire.
That's the case for ranged weapons as well, for example, archers with their bow or arrows or a gunslinger with his gun or bullets, unlike a magician that can wield the elements, the other talents depend on their weapons.
The magician's talent is pretty much being able to wield mana as one pleases into the 6 elements, fire, water, earth, wind, light, and darkness. That's why telekinesis that doesn't fit in that group of elements belongs to another class of magic.
But while magicians are extremely powerful and destructive, they are actually extremely weak in terms of their strength and can be easily killed if a swordsman gets close to them, due to that some scaredy-cat mages have actually developed the talent barrier master to defend against such cases but they lack offensive capabilities.
Swordsmen and other close combat talents also have the ability to get martial art or learn a martial art, which will allow them to do miracles not possible even with magic.

Soon after receiving the telekinesis talent, I decided to head back into my apartment to go take a nice shower and go to sleep.
my apartment was quite small, it is just a room with a bed and a desk and a door that leads to my own personal bathroom, while this may be good considering the fact that the school had thousands of students, if you were to look at the rooms in the higher floors with their own personal training rooms and more, this is just way too shabby for this prestigious school.
anyways I just went to sleep after taking the shower.

Letting out a yawn I got up from my bed and headed for the shower, the Entrance Ceremony wouldn't be starting in 3 hours so I had enough time to do whatever I wanted.
After going down to the lobby of the apartment I heard someone calling for my attention, after turning my head in that direction I saw a teacher motioning her hand in a gesture for me to get closer to her.
I walked up to her, and she asked me for my name.
"Keith Devans", I told her.
After hearing my name she suddenly pulled a uniform and a smartwatch out of nowhere but I was able to identify what it was.
A dimensional pocket, a pretty expensive Item that creates a space for the user to store his items, is extremely convenient and a must-have item for heroes.
Thankfully the smartwatch that was handed to me, also is a dimensional pocket, although not as big as the ones some rich people or the teachers have, it is enough as it has a space of 125 cubic meters.
After receiving my uniform I went back into my room to change and decided to head into the cafeteria that was across the apartments to the west of the main entrance.
Since the students are in the age of improvement the academy has made it so that the cafeteria is free to all students so without hesitation I ordered 3 breakfast menus.
There was a flash of concern on the lunch lady's face but she quickly let it pass after seeing my uniform. After getting my 3 menus I went into a corner and ate everything while reading a book relating to magic control.
Since in about 2 hours, the Entrance Ceremony would begin at 8 am, I decided to head into the library but unfortunately, it was closed, due to the fact I wasn't an official member yet as the school year hasn't started, I had yet to receive the access code to the library.
Btw, not only did the smartwatch serve as an ID, cellphone, and bank but it also acted as a dimensional pocket and an access pass.
With nothing to do, I just wandered around the school, until the time of the ceremony.
