Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Morning Walks

After the date at the botanical gardens two days ago, Victor has started walking with Erin and Vic along the fence early in the morning before the sun climbs over the horizon. Erin needs to take progress photos for Storm Landscaping. The beautiful scenery on the ranch, as well as Victor’s comforting presence beside him, is an added bonus.

Erin knew it was risky. This wasn’t the botanical gardens; this was Victor’s home. Stella’s home. If she woke up early one day – if anyone did – and looked out any of the windows, they would be seen easily. Erin can’t find it in him to care though. Here he is, listening to Victor ramble on about how ice cream should be included as a major food group as the cold morning mist wets their ankles and Erin has never felt more warmth seeping out from his bones.

It’s thrilling.
