Chapter 24: The Justice League Strikes Back
"After disappearing for around 48 hours, a Wayne Enterprises satellite spotted the Bald Clown reappearing on the Dominican island late last night, where he promptly annihilated the UN Peacekeepers that had been sent there to look for survivors," Batman explained as he a addressed the Justice League in the Hall of Justice, his face as calm and stoic as ever. "Those artificial mother boxes that Starlabs was manufacturing essentially give him ease of movement not only around our world, but through the entire multiverse as well."
"As you can imagine, on top of his already incredible, destructive power, this makes him extremely dangerous and a constant threat to international security," Wonder Woman continued for her dark-suited ally, pacing across the front of the room as the large television screen again lowered and lit up. "We need to act fast and attack now before this menace is able to do anymore damage to our world. To ensure that what happened to Barry doesn't happen to any of us again, we need this to be a coordinated effort. We'll work as a team."
"Damn right, I've got some of the Green Lantern corp blockading the planet now in case that freak tries to escape," Hal Jordan spoke up, slamming his fist down on the table he sat at. "I won't forgive him for what he did to our friend."
"Flash, Cyborg, Starfire, Beast Boy…" Batman began as he recounted the heroes that had fallen at the hands of Saitama. "…Nightwing. Like I said, that mother box is giving this guy ease of movement, so blockading the planet won't do anything. Don't worry, every life that this criminal has taken will be avenged when he's taken off the streets."
"Uh, I know everybody is thinking it, so I'm going to go ahead and ask," Booster Gold piped up from another table. "Where the hell is Superman? Are we seriously considering going into battle without him?"
"Clark is fine, but we're holding him back for now as a bit of a trump card," Wonder Woman replied as she raised her arm towards the television screen. "Now, if you could direct your attention up front here, Bruce and I have devised a plan that will combine the abilities of some of those on this team, along with the invasion force that NATO allies have been assembling to invade Dominica."
The detailed plan included attacking Saitama's newly-found island paradise with some of the Justice League's remaining heavy hitters. Green Lantern and Shazam would launch an air assault from the north, while a larger force of Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, Aquaman, and Batman would attack from the south. Both teams would be supported by a large invasion fleet comprised of forces from nations such as the US, Canada, Britain, and France.
"This bald guy punched Superman all the way to Neptune's orbit, so what are the chances that he's going to toss me around like a ragdoll?" Shazam asked after the briefing.
"You're invincible, kid, so if anything, this guy should be scared of you," Green Lantern answered as he put a hand on the hero's shoulder. "I'll be there to back you up anyway."
With some of the league's prominent members assembled, many of the other superheroes were going to remain back and support the invasion force from the mainland. In one of the largest fast mobilizations in modern military history, the NATO fleet was being assembled as the Justice League completed its briefing. Those chosen for the mission were to meet at a rally point over the Atlantic Ocean, before splitting off into groups and hitting the island from different angles. The objective was a simple one: locate and defeat the bald clown.

Approximately 48 hours later, the grey, choppy waters of the Atlantic rocked the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship that the League members had met on. US marines were already loaded onto landing craft, and a wave of helicopters was being boarded by paratroopers.
"Has anyone seen Bruce?" J'onn J'onzz, aka the Martian Manhunter, asked as he noticed the caped crusader's absence on the deck of the warship. The green-skinned alien was outside his Human disguise and stood firmly in his Martian body.
"He'll be leading the first wave of airstrikes against the baldy's hideout, he's going in the Batplane," Wonder Woman replied as she watched the skies. "I know he's not showing it, but Bruce is even angrier than usual."
"He'd better be careful. If that bald guy was able to keep up with the Flash, then what's a speeding jet to him?" Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman added as he watched the grey waves crash against the carrier's bow. "I smell land, we must be less than a few miles from the island."
"As soon as those landing craft are launched, then Hal and Shazam are going to take off and hit the north," Wonder Woman warned as she looked off into the distance at the massive fleet of ships. "The lives of these thousands of men and women are in our hands, and the fate of the world might depend on whether or not we can stop this villain now."
Sipping a milkshake from the vessel's mess hall, the young Billy Batson took a few deep breaths before tossing the cup aside.
"Shazam!!" the teen yelled as a bolt of lightning struck him and in a flash, the muscular, tall, yellow and red-suited Shazam stood in place of his small frame.
After a few tense minutes, where the squadron of helicopters on the ships' deck began to start their engines, the heroes could see many of the fleet's ship drop their landing craft into the water. The Wasp-class eventually birthed its own ships, while many smaller vessels such as destroyers and fast attack craft converged upon the island as it emerged before them from the fog. The choppers began to dust off, where a massive areal fleet began to rally above the warship as a conglomeration of jets and helicopters swooped towards Dominican.
"Well, I guess Billy and I will be going," Green Lantern announced as he used his ring to project an envelope of energy around himself and lift into the air. "See you guys on the other side?"
Nodding, Wonder Woman and Martian Manhunter took off together and shot towards the south of the island, while Shazam and Green Lantern ducked below the wave of choppers and flew north. Aquaman meanwhile dove from the carrier's deck and easily caught up to the speeding landing craft in the water, where the Atlantean planned on supporting the ground forces.
The large scale attempt to take down Saitama was about to begin.
