In a blur, I stepped onto the teleportation device to travel back to Nanjing. Enzo sent me and Cass ahead, where Felix and a few others were anxiously waiting.
It had taken a while for Enzo to convince me to go ahead without him. It was only after I relented and agreed that the morning's events finally sunk in.
Stepping off the device, my knees buckled. Using a tree to support myself, I wretched up all the bile in my stomach.
Dear void what had I just done?
Felix rushed to follow me, stroking my back whilst listening to Cass talk in a quiet mumble.
I allowed the two of them to support me as they practically dragged me towards the main palace towards Ren and Hangzhi. Felix had been waiting inside my own personal palace.
My stomach churned, my mouth was dry, and my head spun in circles.

Bit of Lore:
The void is nothingness, it is the absence of life. Only a bundle of uncontrollable negative energy constantly shifting and exchanging. (it's a bit hard to word, bare with me)
This energy creates souls. The soul can then cross the boundary into everything, life, the universe, filled with positive energy.
They do this by splitting the soul into a Host and a System. The Host enters and the System remains to guide the Host.
In their first life, they enter a world as newborns and live like a normal mortal, until Systems are 'activated'.
To 'activate' System, a traumatic death or life, filled with 'negative' energy, must occur.
Once System is 'activated', the soul cannot reincarnate, stuck inside a pocket dimension within the void where the soul/consciousness lingers, only able to create what they've experienced. They can then use System to enter life but only by jumping onto a similar frequency to their death to inhabit a body over and over until they reset.
Resetting can be done in various ways. A resetting soul can still hold onto its attachments with other souls, the energy that is exchanged between souls during living. This is what Luna had done when she reset as Katsuki. However, this time, she is completely dispursing the energy, shedding all connections she had.
It's a bit finicky, I've not finished writing the lore completely/thoroughly as it's rather complex.

The last third of this arc is still in the 'first draft' phase, I'll go back and go over it soon to 'polish' it up.
Meanwhile, I've already begun writing up about the world for Arc 4 and the plot line. So stay tuned for the start of Arc 4.
