Chapter 5: Chapter 5: The Hunter

John and Selina returned to Selina's living room. John sat on the soft yellow couch. Selina deliberately sat farther from John. The small room helped in providing an intimate atmosphere between them. Selina bent her body forward as she wanted John to see her delectable body and face clearly. After a minute, John still said nothing until Selina sighed.

"I wonder if I may not be someone you want."

"Hm?" he asked.

Then, with a smooth movement like a cat to catch a mouse, Selina walked fast without sound to sit next to John. She placed her hand below her chin, pretending to think. "Delta Daniel told me you wanted to get to know me. But you asked nothing so far." She let out a desperate sigh, but later creating a sexy sound. Obviously, it was all only a charade. Afterward, Selina swept her long hair to spread her scent.

John inhaled Selina's scent. "Honey and milk. No wonder your skin is so bright and healthy."

She grinned and nodded a little. "Excellent, Beta John. So, have you decided?"

"About?"

"Should I say it?" She pouted prettily. "Oh, you're cruel! Even as a she-wolf without a protector, I have my pride."

"Do you?" John asked.

"Yes, Beta John." Selina licked her upper lip.

"If you did, which I doubted, you wouldn't act like a tramp in front of me."

"You hurt my feelings!" Selina bit her lower lip. Inside, she panicked because it was the only chance she got. She couldn't blow this one. "What did I do wrong?"

"When you threatened Daniel, that's when you stepped on the wrong foot. No one can come between our friendship, not even a she-wolf." John's eyes stared at Selina as cold as ice. "Especially not a seductress like you. You value yourself too high if you think I'll trust you more than Daniel."

"So? Are you here only to insult me?" Selina's voice was pitching higher.

"No. As I said to Daniel, I need a bedmate."

Selina's eyes shone immediately when she heard it. "Oh! Do you find me suitable for that? I assure you, you won't be disappointed. I promise to give you great satisfaction in bed."

"Only in bed?"

Selina chuckled as she covered her mouth. "Well, wherever you want, Beta John. Name it, and I will serve you the best I can. I will serve you whenever you ask."

"Great! Starting tonight, I want you to serve me."

Selina raised from her seat, kneeled on both feet, and kissed John's feet. "It will be a great honor if I can serve you in any capacity, my Beta." Selina touched John's calf, then stroked it. She moved her body forward until her breasts brushed his calves. Then Selina tilted her head to stare at John's handsome face. She gasped.

John raised one eyebrow. "Why do you gasp?"

Selina shook her head. "Nothing, Beta John."

John reached out his hand to grab Selina's chin, so she had no option other than to look at him. "I can't have a dishonest bedmate."

"I'm honest! I swear!" Selina bit her lower lip, then blurted her words. "So, I gasped because usually, no werewolves can handle me. Usually, they will fall within my charm. But you … not only did you not seem to be affected by my … ah, persuasion, but also, you stayed cold, as if I didn't attract you at all."

John smiled a little. "A hunter, huh?"

Selina stood, then sat on John's lap. "Yes, Beta John. You can say that."

"Let me make myself clear. I'm the one who is in charge, not you. Is that clear?"

"Yes, Beta John. It's crystal clear."

Then John moved his face until it was only an inch from Selina's face. "Also, I don't like aggressive women. I prefer to be the hunter, not the prey."

Selina's face was gloomy immediately. She didn't enjoy the situation since she usually played any werewolf, and they would submit because of her charm. Now the situation was reversed, and she didn't control it anymore. "I understand, Beta John," Selina forced herself to say it. She didn't want to stare at John.

"Close your eyes."

Selina blinked a few times, but she submitted to John's order. When her eyes completely shut, John grabbed her waist and kissed her lips. She opened her mouth and let out her tongue. But before she could enter John's mouth, he pushed her.

When Selina opened her eyes, she was confused as John rejected her seduction. She stared at John in disbelief. "What did I do wrong this time?"

"I told you I'm the hunter, not the prey." John stood and walked a few steps toward the front door. "Maybe you ain't suitable for me. I'll find someone else."

"No!"

Selina ran to the door and blocked the way. "I'm suitable for you. Whatever you want, I'll do it."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, Beta John, but you should be patient with me. I have been a hunter for all my life. Having a reverse role is quite hard."

John shook her head. "I don't want to give you trouble, Selina. You're a beautiful she-wolf. Any werewolf will be thrilled to have you."

"But they are not you."

John stared at Selina. Her body was trembling, and her face was pale. He let out a sigh, and then he reached out his hand and caressed her hair. "I love your scent."

Selina bit her lower lip, then lowered her stare to the ground. "Will you give me another chance?"

John swiftly crushed Selina's lips. She closed her eyes and let John lead the kiss. He moved closer, and their bodies touched each other. Only clothes separated them. She groaned and moved her body, circling her hands to his waist and shaking her body to tease John's body. But John's tight grip stopped Selina's movement.

"Yes, easy, woman. Remember, let me take control. You only need to follow my lead."

"Yes, Beta."

John touched Selina's mouth with his tongue, and she followed his unuttered request by opening her mouth. After tasting Selina's mouth for a few seconds, John stopped and nodded. "Come to my room tonight at eleven. If we are fit, then I'll visit you regularly."

Afterward, John left Selina's house without looking back.
