Chapter 37: Bitter Taste

Not a muscle twitched, all eyes remained on Don Roberto as he viciously attacked Annalise's father. He stood up after he'd had his fill, and glared at him before collecting the handkerchief his bodyguard handed him. 

Don Roberto wiped the blood that stained his hand on it before passing it back to the man and with a simple nod of head towards her father, he was taken away, half unconscious.

Annalise felt like she was being punched in the gut repeatedly as she watched everything happening, her heart had stilled and started over and over again. She wasn't stupid enough to make a move or attempt to say a word but it didn't stop her from feeling like a coward, her father could die and there would be nothing she'd attempted to do to help.
