Chapter 94: Chapter 94 - Mundane Human [2]

A/N: okay wn is really weird on mobile now, I'm seeing the fucking tags, this is so disorientating.

A/N: okay no more tags but now the chap ain't properly saving man, which is why this chap is mad late. Also I'm thinking bout a new novel, with a entirely different type of mc. It'd be related to Knights, and that's all I'll say for now.

Artorius POV:

As I turned around, my blade approached Valier's neck. However, Valier's foot had managed to connect with my stomach, knocking the wind out of me and stopping my attack. Then, Valier reeled his fist back, and I prepared to block before his fist slammed into my arms.

Crack!

The bones in my arms cracked under the force of his blow, but even then, I didn't let go of my sword. I was blown away by Valier, which thankfully, created some space between us.

Valier watched me callously, there probably wasn't a single thought in his mind. It was as if he was attacking while relying on nothing but instinct.

'I can't win, can I?'

I took a deep breath, enjoying the moment of peace, the moment of peace that would last but an instant. All of this would inevitably lead to my loss. There was no doubt about it.

Then, Valier disappeared from view, his hand wrapped around my face a second later and he slammed the back of my head into a tree. Blood poured down my head as I felt my skull fracture and then crack.

I was going to 'die.'

Luna Valkyr POV:

For the first time during this battle, someone spoke.

"Luna... shouldn't we help?"

I turned around and saw someone punch the person who just spoke.

"Are you fucking stupid? There's nothing we can possibly do to fight that THING. Open your eyes and look, that monster moved faster than an arrow. That THING caused a tree to collapse and was able to not only brutalize Leon Gladius, but he was also able to instantly take down the Elven Princess as soon as he knew where she was, and now he's crushing Artorius. We can't help, we're not even worthy to stand against those three geniuses, let alone that monster. And Artorius is dead. I don't think any human, Valier excluded, could survive that."

Then, footsteps came from afar, and soon, a hulking figure could be seen approaching. The figure had an insane amount of muscle on his frame, and the man approaching was rather aged.

"Alexander Ashford..? Thank God. We're saved."

I spoke, before finally falling to the floor whilst sighing in relief. Alexander Ashford was a combat teacher who specialized in unarmed combat. He had likely come to detain Valier, as this was supposed to be a test that served to find out everyone's capabilities without Mana and whatnot. But it obviously wouldn't serve its purpose if Valier killed everyone with no difficulty at all.

He would undoubtedly rank first, so the teachers had probably judged it was best to find out ranks two, three, and so on. Well, ranks two and three were probably Artorius and Leon. No one else had managed to survive Valier anyways.

The old man smiled, as if he were looking forward to this

"Valier, come with me or else I'll take you in by force."

The gleeful tone he had immediately revealed how little he wanted Valier to surrender.

Valier threw Artorius' body away, as even Valier seemed to consider Alexander a threat that could not be ignored.

Valier ran at him and leapt into the air, before bringing his knee to Alexander's face.

Alexander was able to stop his knee by using his hand.

"Not bad, but you'll need to try harder."

Alexander said this, but his hand was shaking from Valier's attack. While in the air, Valier twisted his body and threw a kick, which Alexander blocked rather easily. Alexander grabbed Valier's leg, and threw him with ease. Then, Alexander ran at Valier and jumped into the air, just as Valier did.

He raised his leg while jumping before letting it crash down onto Valier's face, but Valier managed to guard before the attack landed. Yet, under Alexander's strength, Valier's guard shook.

"Even this isn't enough? Man, I hate how tough your body is. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if you were an actual monster."

Then, Valier grabbed Alexander's leg and threw him, but Alexander was able to predict this and was able to brace himself for his landing earlier than Valier did.

Then, I saw Valier doing the exact same thing Alexander did.

"Oh right... You can do that. I forgot."

Alexander then dodged the axe kick that Valier had copied and took a deep breath as he threw a straight punch at Valier. Valier ignored defending himself, and threw a kick at Alexander's side. Both blows connected, drawing blood from both of these... freaks.

Their physical stats were pretty similar, however, Valier had an edge in all attributes. The way he fought wasn't human, it was unnatural, it was almost too perfect. Even I could sense the perfection in his moves.

They kept going, blow for blow, and slowly but surely, Valier began to understand Alexander and his fighting style, and he began to slowly adapt. But every time that happened, Alexander changed how he fought.

"Valier, I should tell you, I don't have a physique. All I have is my Mana and my muscles, meaning that here, unlike in our previous fight..."

Then, both of them landed a blow to the other's face. Valier landed an uppercut while Alexander landed a hook.

"...It's just my strength against yours!"

As the fight dragged on, more blood began to be drawn. Bruises were formed and bones began to wear. Soon they began to move faster than I could see. All I could see were blurs and blood being splattered.

Before, I could vaguely understand what was going on, but now... all I could see were two monsters unleashing the full brunt of their power against one another.

Narrator POV:

Valier and Alexander exchanged vicious blows, each blow far beyond what they should've been able to do as mundane and powerless men. Yet, they performed these impossible blows over and over. Even while in an unconscious-conscious state, Valier didn't hesitate to copy every attack Alexander used and reuse it at an apt time against him.

"You know, your talent to copy techniques is fearsome in and of itself, but what's scarier is that you not only copy it, but you understand and perfect it."

Then, Alexander unleashed the strongest attack he had used all day. A shockwave was formed, and Valier was sent back, skidding on the ground.

Valier got up and approached Alexander, slowly walking toward the old man. His intent was clear, it was to "Destroy."

There was no thought, there was only the instinct Valier had to destroy whatever stood before him.

Valier took a deep breath, and then, he hunched his body over. His lower jaw dropped, leaving his mouth agape. His arms weren't properly held in guard, his hands weren't in fists. Instead, they resembled claws.

"Valier... Who the hell are you copying? Better yet, what the fuck are you copying?"
