Chapter 2: Hard time

Right after they entered the cave, Thunder left. She was left only with the four of them. And oh my, they were a noisy bunch. What annoyed her most was their constant Chinese. They probably wanted to talk about her, so they switched to another language.

They navigate through the low levels of the cave without a problem. Their gunner was awesome. Perfect combo with their swordmaster. And the guardian taunted all the monsters and held his position when the swordmaster with the gunner killed them. None of the monsters was even near her, nor the other long-range teammates, gunner, and magician.

"Wow, your control is not bad. You have taunted no monster yet." An English-speaking deep voice sounded in her earphones, scaring her a bit.

"Huh, me?" Lili asked, confused. She stopped spacing out and focused a bit more on the fight.

"You think I would talk to them in English?" he said ironically, and Lili shrugged. The work wasn't so hard, she was just following in their steps.

"Sorry... I've been spacing out." Followed by another flood of Chinese. Thank god she was used to that language.

When they got to the last stage, they whistled at her, saying it was for waking her up. She got her hands ready, sat better in the chair, and followed them to the last level.

They entered something amazing. It was a cave, but there was no roof. Only stars and the moon shining above her. She quickly scanned her surroundings and found a few bushes and trees. Hmm, good for hiding. Lili enabled the wide-range view to see how far she could go. When, suddenly, a star started falling from the sky.

"Careful, it's the boss. " The team captain warned her about the star, but she already guessed that.

"Okay, I'm going to hide," she said, leading her character into nearby green land.

"Huh, what you said?" She heard. Followed by crashing noises.

"I'm going to hide," she said again, but no one answered. They were only fighting the monster.

And as she said, she did. While seeing her range was enough for all players, even if they moved around. She hid behind one of the bushes. The boss landed safely on his legs and started to shriek.

The guardian taunted him, and when the boss activated his skills, she quickly debuffed him. She used one of her better skills, even though it had a longer cooling time.

Guardian was bleeding. She healed him. Gunner had low HP. She used a healing spell. Drank MP potion. Healed again. Debuff. Heal. Stop bleeding. Heal. MP potion.

She had to move around in bushes a bit because all of them were all around the map making it hard for her, but she was enjoying it. They were really amazing players.

"You are good, girl!!!" A loud yell frightened her, so hard that she jerked. It was a different voice than Doom's.

One last slash and the boss was down. They were teleported outside of the cave, before the entrance.

"Thanks. It was a pleasant experience," she said politely, meaning it. They were fun.

"Wait, where are you going? Loot time." Doom was the leader. He got to divide the loot.

"It's okay. I doubt you are willing to give me what I need. It's a high level." She knew about the unicorn horns, used for handles of weapons, that she could use. But nobody would give her such rare material.

"Wait a bit," Doom muffled the mic and spoke to someone else. Didn't the guys know about muting?

"We can give you five ingots of Damascus steel and two Unicorn horns."

'OMG, OMG? OMG…' She didn't know what to say. She was freaking out in her mind. These were really rare materials. Worth a lot. And it was more than she wanted.

"We have just one condition," Doom said.

'Oh, so there is the hitch,' she thought and chuckled.

"Whatever weapon you make with this... you have to sell it to us," he continued.

'Nothing else? Not give, but sell? Was she dreaming?' Her thoughts had run all over the place.

"Oh, then, no problem. What weapon do you need the most? I can make it. Probably. It shouldn't be an unacceptable level with these materials," she pulled herself together and answered. Another muttering followed. She really needed to learn another language. This was annoying her a lot.

"I will let you know," he said. Her tummy made a loud sound into his speech because Lili didn't have breakfast and was getting hungry.

"Thanks, I need to go. Need lunch. Bye," Lili said her bye-byes, and when most of them answered she disabled voice chat. Lili looked through the materials she received and marveled a bit because she got one big jade stone as a bonus.

She had no recipe for such excellent materials. Lili logged off the game and went out for lunch, thinking about how she needed to spend an entire afternoon looking for a recipe.

Ugh. Who knew that accepting a team request would give her such a hard time?

Later, much later, actually, in the middle of the night, she was still in the game. Lili was so engrossed in making a perfect sword she forgot to go to sleep. And now it was too late to go to sleep. So, she could finish it, and send it when she was at it.

Since lunch, she was running around gathering materials, fighting monsters, and haggling with sellers.

When she finally managed to get the most epic and the most complicated sword recipe she had ever seen. It was so complicated it took her five times to read the screenshot to understand it.

But then she noticed some similarities between this recipe and the cupcakes recipe she tried out last weekend. After that, it was easy. She finished it with a glorious sigh of relief.

With attributes that will make a load of players green with jealousy. The suggested price for this weapon was 40 million gold. That was an astronomical price.

But she decided that, as thanks for yesterday's fun. Blacklily will sell it 'only' for 1,5 million of gold. Even that was profitable for her. SIG, the gunner from yesterday, messaged her.

[Private]SIG: Hello... Do you want to spar?

[Private]Blacklily: Haha, I'm no match for you... But tell Doom I have the weapon he wanted...

[Private]SIG: Oh, for whom it is?

[Private]SIG: I will tell you later.

[Private]SIG is -AFK-

Thunder was added to your group

Doom was added to your group

'Wait a minute, what was happening?' Lili wanted to scream. But it wasn't a good idea, given how late it was.

'But why to add them?' She facepalmed herself and sighed. This was more than out of control.

[Group]SIG: They are both here. Boss is sleepy.

[Group]Doom: He just got up. Don't mind him, he is not an early person.

[Group]Blacklily: Can feel his pain. I'm the same... Wait a minute... Morning?

She didn't care that he didn't say hi or whatever. She was dead right after waking up, so she really sympathized with Thunder.

[Group]SIG: Mmm

[Group]Doom: Mmm

[Group]SIG: What time is it there? You are not in Asia, are you?

[Group]Blacklily: Kyaaaa... Nah, Europe. Asian time works better for me because of work.

[Group]Doom: So, it's late there, probably?

Lili looked at the phone and bitterly laughed. It was 3 am, and that wasn't that bad. Given that she woke up early today, yesterday.

[Group]Thunder: Go sleep if it's late. The weapon can wait.

'Aw, that was sweet,' she screamed inside her head. He was so considerate of her.

[Group]Blacklily: Haha... it's ... not late... more like... early...

[Group]Doom: That means?

[Group]Blacklily: Let's get over it... It's 3 am and I probably need some sleep...

[Group]SIG: Wow... You are an actual gamer, huh?

She knew what SIG meant. Some 'true' gamers would give their heart and everything for the game they were playing. Money, sleep, life, simply everything.

[Group]Blacklily: More like a real dummy…

Lili meant what she wrote. She was so stupid to be awake this late. But she really had fun, even when it was hard.

[Group]Blacklily: I made a sword. Are you willing to pay 1,5 mil. gold?

[Group]Thunder: No problem.

[Group]Blacklily: Okay... sending a private offer...

[Group]Blacklily: Nice to deal with you. Bye-bye.

Blacklily is offline

Lili got off as soon as Thunder hit accept, and the money was in her profile. She knew it was rude, but she didn't want to see the reaction to the sword she made.

Because it was named the Sword of secrets. A secret-level weapon. Best in the game. She was really lucky today.
