Chapter 4: 3: The space

"Although they have treated me wrongly that's how demons work." Baiqian remorsefully sighed. "They treate me terribly because I have no value to them, although my talent in arrays is high, but equally so is my consumption of spiritual stones..it's not worth raising me. Instead of being upset and taking out my anger on them, wouldn't it be better for me to work hard and prove them wrong?"

Baiqian's rudy orbs glimmered brightly and Yinyue couldn't help but smile. "Good! Well said, so starting from today I'll seriously mentor you, I hope you can surpass that Bai family and make them regret their decisions."

drip. Tears overflowed from Baiqian's eyes. She felt so relieved, her master was so good for her even though they just met! She fully supported her decisions and didn't abandon her when everyone else did. "Waaa! MASTER!!" Clinging onto Yinyue, Baiqian started to cry.

'I didn't notice this before but..' Yinyue felt her eye twitch in annoyance, but still lifted her hand to comfortingly rub circles into Baiqian's back. 'Qianqian is much taller than me isn't she?'

"Alright alright, just call me Yinyue." Yinyue sighed. "Master feels weird, it's so formal. Now come on. Let's go train, I have a few ideas."

Baiqian comically bobbed her head up and down. "Right! Mas-Senior Yin, I dug out the space behind the waterfall while you were gone like you asked! I may still be in body refinement but it's more than enough to dig out some rock!" Puffing her chest out in pride, Baiqian's left ear twitched a few times while a silly smile rested on her face.

'I fuess it'll take a bit..oh well, senior is fine for now. I'm not exactly that young.' Yinyue rubbed Baiqian's head, "Alright, head inside for now. I need to gather some supplies."

Baiqian gave a small nod and gently tapped her foot on the ground. However, that gentle tap was able to launch her past the pouring water and into the hidden cave within. Once she was out of sight, Yinyue closed her eyes and her form shattered like glass. Glowing, star like particles falling down from where she was previously standing.

When Yinyue opened her eyes again, she was standing in an open valley full of growing plants. Many of which had strange shapes, behaviors, or patterns. This was her space, the reason she was able to live out so many lifetimes. It had the ability to protect her soul and transport it into a suitable body for her to reside in. Atfirst, it was a simple cabin with only a few meters of rich soil, but now? After her careful nourishment over countless lifetimes, it was a paradise.

The spiritual energy here was dense, much denser than where she was previously atleast. Yinyue transported her self into the half of the space where she was growing plants that required spiritual energy. This space was definitely a treasure, it had it's own functioning eco system and was basically a world with two small realms: one that functioned on mana, and one that functioned on spiritual energy. If Yinyue really wanted too, she could probably raise some pets here, but they would eat up all her precious recourses so she never did.

Normally, unless it was a desperate situation, Yinyue would never acess the life she grew here in her realm. She would clear a section and start anew, growing and gathering, letting her garden paradise grow as she did in a new world....but since it was her little disciple, she should do her best to be a good mentor. 'Sigh, I may have picked up more than I bargained for. I may be apathetic, but I atleast have a sense of responsibility.'

Most plants were also unique to their own world, Yinyue enjoyed the sense of discovery that came with experimenting with new recources. She found it more fun discovering their properties herself rather than learning them from a book or person. Plus, if the plants weren't native there was a high chance of them becoming an invasive species.

Yinyue relaxed staring at the familiar scenery. She was at peace in this comforting grove. "Well time to get to work."

An old cottage in a forest, a place that truly gave off comfort. Cozy and peaceful. 'Except most of these plants could easily kill.' Yinyue giggled slightly. There were some normal, even beneficial herbs in her garden, but she specialized in poisons afterall. It wasn't like poisons couldn't heal, it just depended on it's usage.

Humming a tune, Yinyue gathered a few batches of slightly glowing, lilac grass. The tip had a orb that was glowing much brighter than the plant itself, "Violet sungrass, deadly poison, but also an amazing tonic mixed with Heliocentric. I could just give Baiqian some yinyang water but that might be too mcuh for her right now...I could probably dilute it and mix it into this tonic though..."

'I could also add some Nocturne grass to make aide effects easier to handle.' Yinyue tapped her chin in thought, a habit of hers. She didn't know when she developed it, but Yinyue found that tapping her chin often helped her thoughts flow smoother.

Gathering the glowing, lilac grass as well as a orange flower with a small glowing bead for the core, and emerald green grass that sparkled, Yinyue walked into the small cabin. Inside was how any cabin would look except the usual funishings used for living were replaced by a strange hot spring, test tables with plants scattered on them, and culdrons. A mess for others, but a paradise for Yinyue.

Everything in the space was strange, the pants on the tables, the oddly intricate culdrons, especially the hot spring. It was a mix of red and blue except it wasn't mixed. The two colors clashed but didn't merge. Using a bottle to gather some of the vapor above the pool, Yinyue carefully poured a drop into a barrel of water. The yingyan water was something of a miracle Yinyue had just by chance gotten. This spring water had miraculous effects in cleansing the meridians and improving the constitution, for cultivators, it was an invaluable treasure. That is if you could endure the pain the processed caused. The spring water essentially tore apart and rebuilt your meridians allowing even normal people to become genius cultivators. For worlds without spiritual energy however, this water was utterly useless, but for Baiqian? It could mean a everything.
