Chapter 29: The three Shadows!
It had been 5 minutes since Obito left through Kamui, I was debating on what to do, I now needed to adjust my plan a little bit, I was planning to milk the skill tree for a bit but I guess I could steal the forbidden scroll easily now so it wasn't that necessary...
'Let's see what happens with the Kumo elder, if Danzo weasels his way out of this then I'll have less time than necessary...'
'Mangekyo Sharingan: Kamui'
I had regenerated about a thousand chakra by meditating, I focused on finding Inoichi and a small window, barely visible to anyone other than the most astute sensors, even then only to someone who has seen space-time ninjutsu before. I peered into the room, Inoichi was standing in the room, and the elder's body was encased in a stone slab, there were numerous seals written on the slab which lead to 7 Yamanaka shinobi who were constantly providing support for Inoichi to probe the target's mind.
They stayed still for a bit, I looked around to see both Danzo and Hiruzen were standing guard close to the door, I couldn't sense anything from the other side though unless I go through the portal, thankfully after opening it didn't take any more chakra to activate, working as a tiny window placed in the ceiling, I silently looked Inoichi rummaging through the Elder's mind.
Finally, after 10 minutes of rummaging Inoichi removed his hand from Katayama's forehead, some smoke was coming out of the seals and his head but Inoichi ignored him and walked towards Danzo and Hiruzen. They followed Inochi to the office, my portal moved with them and soon seals were activated across the room.
"What do you find Inoichi-kun?" Hiruzen spoke as he sat down on one of the chairs while Danzo took the other, Inoichi, on the other hand, stood in front of the two leaders of Konoha and spoke, "The plan was not originally created by Katayama Koji, he was contacted by someone from the Lightning Daimyo's court to try and influence the patrol's that there would lead to more skirmishes with Konoha, which lead to the deployment of the envoy which would be the focal point of the plan, the elder didn't know much, he orchestrated everything according to the what his contact requested from the Daimyo court, apparently he and his family had been going through some financial struggles and the person behind the scenes promised him a move to the capital..."
Hiruzen sighed as he nodded, "What a mess, anything else you could find?" he asked.
"Nothing else, all the contacts were through scrolls that appeared at his desk every morning..." Inoichi spoke, Hiruzen nodded and then asked, "Would you mind us using your room for a bit Inoichi-kun?"
"No problem Hokage-sama" the Yamanaka clan head bowed slightly before leaving the room.
As soon as the door closed and seals were activated, Hiruzen turned to Danzo and spoke, "What are you playing at here Danzo?"
"Whatever do you mean Hiruzen?" Danzo spoke with an even voice.
"The Anbu patrol charts were messed with during that night leaving the opening that allowed the head shinobi to enter the Hyuga compound... then you killed Aoki, don't think just because I am complacent you can get away with anything, I need a reason for this mess... NOW!!" I could see the outline of the blue chakra that overlapped the Third Hokage's figure, even though I couldn't sense it, I could guess the massive amounts of chakra that Hiruzen was collecting at the moment to put pressure on Danzo.
Danzo didn't flinch, he stared impassively at Hiruzen before he spoke, "Ne was not involved with this incident, there were 2 traitors among my ranks who co-operated to kidnap the Hyuga heiress after she was kidnapped by Kumo by intercepting and then leaving with her to somewhere in the land of rice, apparently they were Orochimaru's men were behind the attack..." Danzo finished impassively, Hiruzen knew all that was coming out of his mouth was bullshit, he was behind the attack, and there was no possible way for Orochimaru to have influence in the Lightning Daimyo's court in just 1 year, which leaves Danzo, but on being pressed he would just give him 2 of his agents who would be specially monitored and would be behaving in the way that it would collaborate with his story.
"Why did you frame Fujii?" Hiruzen asked, and although his question had an entirely different meaning from a different angle, he still asked the question, why did he frame Fujii instead of the supposedly actual traitors in Ne.
"I didn't find the traitors till it was too late and the evidence was already planted inside his house..." Danzo finished and Hiruzen looked at his teammate, his eyes visibly narrowed in anger but he calmed his emotions down, "You saw those eyes right?" Hiruzen asked.
Danzo's expression changed for the first time, his face contorted and he spoke, "He couldn't be behind the nine tails incident, although his abilities allow him to be good enough to sneak into the barrier outside the village that Minato erected, he should be too young then, barely 7 with no ninja training, remember his parents had been thinking of applying for a year-long leave to train him... so he couldn't be the reason behind that..." Danzo spoke and Hiruzen nodded, doubt still festering in their minds, the Ninetail's attack was sudden and devastating on the village, it was one time when Danzo felt inadequate in supporting Konoha through the shadows.
"But his threat level needs to be increased now, he has those eyes and the resentment he must hold in his heart towards us due to us framing him for taking the fall of this incident..." Danzo spoke, Hiruzen said nothing as he closed his eyes and took out his pipe, a small application of fire manipulation and he took a relieved breath when nicotine entered his body.
"He's a sensor..." Hiruzen reminded Danzo, I listened to the conversation with mixed emotions, I was not really close to either of them, but I cared about Sensei and my two teammates, and looking at how this conversation was going, I would need to go away in the near future...
'But I could still train and gain some knowledge from Konoha before leaving...'
I opened my quest screen and looked at the quest to join Akatsuki, maybe joining them would be the best idea in a few years when Obito extends the offer once again, they should be gathering members in a few years to form the original 10.
"He needs to be promoted and drafted into ANBU," Danzo spoke gaining my attention back to their conversation.
"You want to use the power of his eyes to sneak into the other great villages?" Hiruzen asked his face impassive as the two leaders stared at one another.
"Of course, monitoring him would be like monitoring the Uchiha, we would need him close be to our agents if we want to make sure he isn't resentful..." Danzo spoke.
"You want him to join Ne..." Hiruzen asked with narrowed eyes.
"If he accepts..."
"Tell Suzaku to get his team ready for the next Chunin exams..." Hiruzen spoke as they both stood up and left. I deactivated Kamui and stood up, it was time to meet the third player of the game.
'Danzo, Hiruzen, and Konoha on one side, Uchiha clan on one side, and the Akatsuki with plans of their own.' I counted the three forces that I could lean towards right now. And as time went on with Danzo and his schemes covering Konoha, Akatsuki looked more and more appealing.
'Maybe killing Danzo and then escaping would get me marked as an S-rank missing-nin,'
