Chapter 2: Dimpled Man

Dimpled Man

Arwen woke up very early. Besides the school being a bit far away, she might as well say hello to the other boarding house residents who might have woken up. She was neatly dressed in her school uniform. Once again she looked at her reflection in the mirror. It's not wrong if the phrase beautiful and popular girl at school is pinned to her.

Without the need for a lot of makeup, Arwen is already beautiful. Coupled with her tall stature, long and silky black hair made Arwen look charming.

But still, no human is perfect. Although beautiful, Arwen is also known to be fierce and not easily melted. The only person who can make her heart flutter is a man named Arjuna Mandala. The man she had been waiting for for two years, even though she had never considered herself special once.

Outside the second-floor room was still quiet. But the noise from downstairs should be enough to set the house's morning alarm. Either they didn't care or because they were used to it, not even a single other occupant opened the door to their room. Arwen slowly descended the stairs. The voice came from the kitchen.

"I'm amused to see you Fiz. Eat bread with soy sauce." Mark still got goosebumps seeing Hafiz's behavior. Even though there was a lot of jam in front of him, Hafiz's strange brain chose soy sauce as jam instead.

"Still stiff Mark, this is innovation."

"The most terrible innovation!" said Mark amused.

Three boys in high school uniforms are having their ritual breakfast in the kitchen. Hafiz, this 2nd-grade high school boy is famous for being handsome, but one of the habits that makes anyone feel amused and nauseous is his habit of replacing bread jam with soy sauce.

This made Mark, one of the three boys, lose his appetite every time he had breakfast with Hafiz. He then just drank a glass of milk that Levi made for him. Meanwhile, the tall, sweet-faced boy was now busy smiling to himself while staring at the glass of milk and plate of toast he had prepared wholeheartedly for Arwen.

"Morning all!"

The vibration of the beautiful voice seemed to attract the attention of the three creatures who had been waiting for her arrival. Like a gentle breeze blowing, the three boys immediately gaped at the sight of a beautiful flower-like girl greeting them from the kitchen door. Beautiful flowers flew above Levi and Mark's heads, the fresh breeze made the two creatures fantasize even more. Fortunately, the sound of Hafiz's cough choking on bread woke them up immediately.

"Hafiz!" shouted Arwen, glaring.

"Arwen?" Hafiz replied no less surprised.

Levi and Mark looked at each other and realized that their uniforms looked the same. It turns out that Arwen and Hafiz attend the same school, to be more precise, Hafiz is Arwen's classmate.

"You live here too?" asked Arwen still in disbelief. Then approached Hafiz, and also the two boys who were still dumbfounded.

"It's been a year. So it turns out that the new boarding school student is the prettiest girl in my school," said Hafiz.

Levi immediately replied. "You're serious. So she's the girl you like talking about?"

Arwen glanced suspiciously at Hafiz who was now glaring at Levi.

"You gossiping about me?"

"Of course. What else are boys gossiping about if not pretty girls?"

"Yeah, just find another girl!"

Mark, who had felt neglected for a long time, cleared his throat slowly then stepped forward and extended his hand towards Arwen.

"Hi, I'm Mark. Nice to meet you!"

"Hi too, I'm Arwen. You go to the same school?" asked Arwen pointing to Levi and Mark because they both had the same school uniform.

"Yes, we are from Merdeka High School."

"Seriously? Wow, that's a formidable rival."

Levi immediately reached over and handed him a glass of milk and toast that he had specially made for Arwen. "Beautiful Arwen, I've made breakfast for you, especially for Arwen herself. I prepared it with love."

Mark and Hafiz immediately covered their mouths and made movements like they wanted to vomit. Meanwhile, Arwen just smiled as he thanked Levi for his breakfast.

After a few minutes, a beautiful girl with narrow eyes and fair skin came into the kitchen. She was wearing a tracksuit and sneakers which made it clear that she looked like she had just finished working out. According to Arwen, she is one of the coolest girls Arwen has ever met.

Behind her followed a pretty girl with blonde hair with bangs that made her look cute as a doll.

"Hello, morning everyone..."

"Morning beautiful. After beautifying the body huh?" said Levi who was not far from his dirty mind.

"Think about school, Lev, you don't have to think about a girl's body," the slanted-eyed girl said as she drank a glass of water. Likewise with the blonde-haired girl. Arwen smiled sweetly at the two.

"Hi sis, nice to meet you, I'm Arwen."

"Hi too. I'm Lira, and this is Sharon!" The three of them knew each other.

" Arwen, good luck here. It's delicious here, there are not many rules, it's not complicated. So far, the housemates are doing well, if there is a slight difference in understanding between them, but they are very good."

"Yes, thank you." Arwen looked sharply at Sharon who seemed to be a new role model for her.

"Arwen, tonight we will make a bonfire. We gather and welcome you as a new resident, so don't go anywhere," said Sharon.

"Yeah, you haven't met all the other?" continued Lira who immediately replied with a nod of Arwen's head.

"Okay, sis. Do I have to do this?"

"It's more like a tradition, it's a habit. Alright, I'll go up first. Get ready for college too."

"Okay, thanks."

Lira left Arwen, followed by Sharon who also entered her room.

Mark and Levi finally go first, because their school is far from Arwen's school. Meanwhile, Hafiz, who has finished breakfast, is now busy playing with his cellphone in front of Arwen.

"Aren't you going?" asked Arwen.

"I'm waiting for you."

"Why are you waiting for me?"

"Don't you want to go together? We're at the same school."

"No thanks, I'll just take public transportation."

"Why the hell? There's no harm in going with a cute guy like me."

"Yeah, but I'm the loser. I'm too lazy to fight with your fans."

Not without reason, Arwen chose to refuse, because Hafiz is a basketball captain and a popular student at school. Of course, there are a lot of female fans. That's why Arwen was lazier than the girls at school gave her scornfully.

Hafiz just nodded and finally left Arwen who was continuing her breakfast.

*****

It was almost seven in the morning. Arwen hastily tidied her kitchen table and rushed to get water from the refrigerator to fill the bottle of drinking water that she never forgot to bring.

"Oh My God"

Arwen nearly died standing up when she saw a man with a pillow face suddenly stand right behind her holding out a glass. Luckily the water jug she was holding didn't fall.

The man just smiled, raising an eyebrow. Arwen still hadn't recovered from her shock, plus now she was busy gazing at the perfect even though not in perfect condition in front of her.

I mean, how could it not be perfect? When you see someone who still looks handsome even with disheveled hair, shabby clothes, and a pillow face because he just woke up.

"Why are you daydreaming? You'll be late."

"Eh.."

Arwen smiled wryly and immediately poured water into the glass the man was proffering. It didn't take long, the glass of water ran out as soon as the glass touched his lips. Arwen herself immediately filled her water bottle and put it in her bag.

"Where did you go to school?"

Arwen looked at the man in white who was biting the red apple.

"Same school as Hafiz."

"Oh, Beautiful Hope."

"You don't need to mention it."

"So why?"

"Shame, the name sounds like a housing complex."

Arwen's answer managed to make the man smile by showing two sweet crescent moons on his cheeks.

"What's your name?"

Arwen who was ready to leave the kitchen turned her head. "Arwen. Arwen Julia."

"I'm Jefri. By the way, be careful on the road, don't think too much about me."

Arwen who was originally smiling sweetly, suddenly pulled her lips down while glaring in annoyance. She left while stomping her feet without answering the temptation of the man named Jefri.

Meanwhile, Jefri innocently smiled to himself as he continued to follow Arwen until she disappeared from behind the kitchen door.
