Arc 2: Magic! YAY!
...
"You have arrived at the Chinatown Station-" announced the loud speakers as I walked out of subway station at a relaxed pace. Once outside I didn't forget to check the time.
6:36 PM.
Seeing this I let out a sigh of relief 'Good.' I thought. 'I still have some time left before I have to check into F.E.A.S.T.'
I was incredibly lucky yesterday. I knew that much from speaking with the other folks there. Normally the shelter is full by 9 o'clock.
Which means that I was relatively early today and now I had two options moving forward. Either I play it safe and go to F.E.A.S.T right now.
Or I could use this free time for something important.
'For research perhaps?' I thought. 'Hmm... That could work.' I nodded in thought.
I was already here at Chinatown and F.E.A.S.T was within walking distance. So to be honest, there was little to no chance that I was going to miss the deadline tonight.
And it also wouldn't take me much time to research as I only wanted to confirm some things for myself and I would also be completing a task from my to-do list.
...Though I did not know where the Library was, and it could take time to find one and not to mention getting there.
'Hmm... What to do, what to do?' I pondered then as if a lightning bulb turned on in my head I remembered that there was Cyber Cafe nearby that I had walked past in the morning.
Now with my mind made up, I nodded to myself and headed off towards my next destination.
'To the Cyber Cafe that I saw but don't know the name of!'
...I promise it sounded better when I first thought of it.
...
The door automatically opened as I stepped near it. I walked in without a pause and stopped at the counter, where a an old man was sitting. He looked up at me and asked.
"So what can I do for you lad?" He said in a strong British accent.
"I want to rent a cubicle for an hour." I said as I motioned towards the many private cubicles with computers, chairs and air conditioning.
"Well you're at the right place then." He smiled. "For an hour it'll be $7 and you'll have to pay it upfront."
"Yes, that's fine."
"Mhmm." He nodded. "You'll also have to follow some basic rules. Like no smoking, no drinking and no firearms."
"Yes that's also fine." I nodded and gave him the money.
After a moment he gave me the bill and the change and pointed to the many cubicles and said "You can choose in any one you like, provided they are open."
"I see. Thanks!"
"No problem lad."
I nodded and walked towards a cubicle that was relatively in the middle.
I closed the door to the cubicle and opened the computer and waited patiently until it opened.
Then... my research began.

--One Hour Later--
I leaned back in my chair and let out a sigh.
An hour later, I still hadn't managed to find something new about this world I was now inhabiting.
Sure, I had managed to confirm many things for myself.
Like how the Eternals existed in mysteries and secret (but since I had meta-knowledge about them I could easily find them out), or how there were no Mutants or X-Men in this world (they could still exist in secret for all I know). Or how the Avengers had come together to fight off Loki and Chitauri.
Everything was just the way I remembered it to be...
'Well, maybe not everything.' I thought as I looked at the Google page with the heading 'Baxter Foundation'.
I had been researching on the various big companies here when I stumbled upon it (and no, Oscorp did NOT exist here).
Yes, Fantastic Four existed here.
... Well, they weren't really Fantastic Four right now. Reed Richards was just a scientist working for the Baxter Foundation and their space program was only in development phase.
On the plus side this meant that there were going to be some new formidable heroes protecting Earth...
But on the other hand, Doom existed.
... I wasn't sure how to feel about that. Dr. Doom was one of my favourite comic book villains of all time because while he almost always lost (like all villains), he always came back stronger than before. And not to mention his use of both technology and magic to further his goals.
And what I was afraid of was that there was a BIG chance that the person, or the main 'antagonist' that I was here to defeat was none other than Dr. Doom...
Of course I didn't have any evidence to support this theory except my fears and for all I knew it could probably be Thanos or Knull.
'Sigh... There is no use thinking about this.' I thought and shook my head.
I wrote the address of Baxter Building in my notebook (under the addresses of various Spots Of Interest), and stood up to leave.
After all, my one hour was up and I had to get to F.E.A.S.T before it was too late.
Standing up I said goodbye to the old British man and ran off towards the F.E.A.S.T building in the distance.

And Done!
Sorry for the late chapter. I haven't been writing much past this month as I've been busy with a lot of stuff swarming my way.
I would try to be active now but no promises as I have been feeling a bit under the weather and don't feel like writing much.
Ended up postponing watching Invincible and instead watched all five seasons of Breaking Bad for the first time. 10/10 especially loved the last two episodes. RIP Walter White.
