Chapter 3: He's avoiding the conversation
The table was already set for breakfast by Maureen."what are we having for breakfast ? cereal sir answered Maureen in a polite tone. Ronnie and Jessica moved to the dining and sat down,"make sure you eats well sweetie said Ronnie to Jessica who was sitting close to him .
"Can we talk about it now Dad? talk about what ? Ronnie answered with another question,dad please don't pretend like you don't know what I am talking about;now I remember, it's actually bad to talk while eating,can we talk about this when I am back from work?ok dad.
I have to go now,I am running late for an appointment that will be held with the board of directors at the office.Ronnie owns one of the biggest advertising firms in Queen City."Maureen! please make sure Jessica takes her medication at noon and please take care of her,I will be back early.ok sir! answered Maureen.
He gave Jessica who is still struggling with the plate of cereal a peck on her forehead,"don't miss me much I will be back soon sweetie.Mr Ronnie left the dining to the living room to get his car keys and his briefcase which was already kept on the table by Maureen, right beside his car keys,he picked them up and left to where his car was parked and drove out.
It's 6pm already and he's not back,what could be keeping him? Jessica kept talking to herself in the sitting room,she didn't even notice when Nanny Maureen walked in.

Jessica!, Jessica!
Yes nanny!she was a little bit shocked
What could be the problem dear?have been calling you for a while now, you seem not to be here;"it's Daddy,he isn't back and it's late already-or did he call to tell you he will be coming in late.
"Not at all dear, please be calm he will be back soon.jessi please don't be anxious,I know master must be on his way home now.
You think so nanny?I know so dear

"Your dinner is served dear,you need to eat and take your drugs-no nanny;I rather wait for Daddy to come.maureen trying to convince jessi,cause she knew her boss will be really furious if he should come back to find out that her precious daughter haven't had dinner or taken her drugs that will be real trouble for her.
"No dear; your dad will be furious if he finds out,I think you should eat now so you could take your medication then we continue the wait.
Ok!!
Maureen accompanied her to the dining,she helped dished out the food, though jessi couldn't really eat that much,she was really curious on why her dad hasn't come back,she just manage to eat like four full spoons,she asked Maureen to get her drugs,she took the drugs and went back to the living room.
It's 9pm and Mr Ronnie,and her daughter Jessi aren't finding it funny anymore."Nanny!what could really be keeping dad, it's getting me worried maybe I should just give him a call instead.She quickly went upstairs to get a mobile phone,dad Ronnie number.
Why is dad not taking my calls?
This isn't funny at all
'jessi dear;try not to panic and have his number dialled again,jessi listen to miss Maureen and dialled the number and this time Mr Ronnie picked up"hello,am sorry dear I couldn't take your call earlier cause I was on a board meeting-at this time was at least relieved for the fact that he's safe.
"But dad you scared me,you could have called me or the nanny.i was really worried about you,I thought something bad happened;"I am so sorry sweetie,but please don't wait up for me, just go to bed without me I will be back shortly.
"Ok dad'
She ended the call,and Nanny Maureen accomplied her back upstairs to her room."Dad says I shouldn't wait for him,I guess I have to go to sleep now.
Ok dear
Not long after she fell asleep and a few minutes later Mr Ronnie came back,he came back to see the nanny still waiting for his return.
"Maureen!why aren't you sleeping at this hour?still waiting up for you sir she replied politely.'you shouldn't have;well how is my child,hope you gave her her medication as I instructed?yes sir

"Please go get some sleep it's late.'should I get your meal sir?that won't be necessary just go to bed.ok
Nanny Maureen left her room, while Ronnie went not up to his daughters room to check up on her,he found her sleeping calmly,he gave her a peck on her forehead and gently left the room.
It's 8 o'clock in the morning, everyone in the house is awake except Jessi,
"Maureen; seems like Jess isn't awake yet?
Yes sir
And as usual , breakfast is served, it's a cup of tea and three slices of bread.Finally sleeping beauty is awake.
"Honey, come sit and have Breakfast with me.'Good morning Dad; when did you come back last night,we didn't even get the chance to talk? You promised we would talk about it when you come back but you came back very late;can we talk about it now?
No dear!
Let's talk when I am back from work.
Ronnie dropped the little piece of the bread-he couldn't finish it."I ought to rush to the office.
"Have a nice day at office dad
And please make sure to come back on time so we could talk.'Ok I will be back early, don't forget to take your drugs.Ronnie picked up his briefcase and car keys and drove to work.
It's 8:30pm and Ronnie isn't back yet
"Nanny did Dad call you this time,'no dear he didn't answer maureen.why is he not back yet;he doesn't keep late night before now.
"He might be on his way now Jessica
Why am I having this feeling that dad is trying to avoid having a conversation with me.He's really avoiding me.
