Chapter 68: The Cake Accident
"Xu Anyi, where is your present?"
Xu Anyi looked up as everyone looked over at her, wondering what present she would have prepared. If she could get her hands on a Kla dress, her present would certainly not be cheap, right?
Xia Yiwei also looked up expectantly, raising an eyebrow as Xu Anyi smiled and said simply without even blinking an eye, "I didn't bring one."
There was silence for a moment and then Yi Tingting scoffed, "How rude?! You come to a birthday party and don't even bring a present!"
Xu Anyi did not say anything and did not try to explain herself either.
Xia Yiwei seemed to be disappointed but then she pulled Yi Tingting back, saying, "It's okay, I don't blame her. Anyi probably won't have money for a present after just-"
She paused as if she had accidentally said too much, and she quickly covered her mouth, but this only caught the attention of others more as they wondered what had happened to Xu Anyi. She didn't have money? After just what?
Xu Anyi raised an eyebrow, watching Xia Yiwei's act calmly.
"After what? What happened?" One of the guests couldn't hold back her curiosity and asked.
Xia Yiwei looked at Xu Anyi as if she was conflicted on whether she should say anything or not, and Lu Yuzhe frowned behind her, grabbing onto her hand.
Xu Anyi merely smiled, ignoring the guest's question as she explained, "Yiwei, do you have short term memory?"
Xia Yiwei looked at her.
"Of course I have money!" She smiled, "We just modeled together, do you not remember?"
Upon hearing this, Xia Yiwei's face immediately darkened as the memories of the pictures for Design came back to her. How could she forget about that!
The other guests here today had also mostly seen the images already, and several of them gasped as they remembered, "Oh! That other model was Xu Anyi?!"
This started a conversation on the shoot again as people began discussing the pictures, and many of them pointed out how Xu Anyi looked beautiful in the shoot. No wonder why she looked familiar tonight.
Xia Yiwei clenched her teeth together as she glared at Xu Anyi, who definitely said that on purpose. She was purposefully trying to ruin her birthday party!
Xia Yiwei looked at the guests and the idea of telling everyone that Xu Anyi went to jail flashed through her mind, and she opened her mouth to speak, but the next second, she felt Lu Yuzhe grab onto her arm as he stepped forward, announcing, "Let's eat the cake!"
She paused and before she could say anything more, everyone's attention was back on the cake as he began slicing the cake up and handing it to the guests.
The cake was a simple yet delicious strawberry cream cake, which was Xia Yiwei's favorite flavor.
Soon enough, a waiter walked over and helped to slice the cake up and distribute it onto the plates. Xu Anyi stood to the side, not walking over as she pulled out her phone and looked at the time.
It was getting late. . . Her job here was done, so perhaps she should go back soon.
She was in a pretty good mood at the moment, especially as she watched Xia Yiwei try to squeeze out a smile as she looked at the cake.
She opened her phone and thought about sending Si Mu a message, and as she was typing it, she looked up to see that Xia Yiwei had walked around the cake and was walking toward her with two plates of cake in her hands.
She closed her phone and put it back into her bag just as Xia Yiwei stopped a step in front of her with a smile, "Here, try the ca-"
She pushed the cake forward and as she took another step forward, she "accidentally" tripped over some non-existent object on the floor and fell forward too far, and the cake she was holding flipped forward, the slice smashing straight onto Xu Anyi's chest.
Xia Yiwei gasped and Xu Anyi also fell backward as the cake fell down onto the ground, but the cream had smeared completely over her chest, getting onto the dress as well.
Everyone turned to look at the noise, and Xia Yiwei gasped in surprise, putting down the other slice of cake, "I'm so sorry! I didn't do it on purpose!"
Of course she did do it on purpose, or how could she perfectly push the white cream straight over her chest?
Several people originally were shocked, and they couldn't help but feel bad for the dress, but who did not like some good drama.
Especially the sight of the white cream plastered all over her chest, right above her dress. . . It would be stupid if anyone believed that it was a mere accident. However, Xia Yiwei kept her innocent expression as she turned around and looked over at Lu Yuzhe, her expression helpless and confused.
Lu Yuzhe glanced over at Xu Anyi and his eyebrows furrowed together, especially when he heard a few people behind him comment, "She looks like a wh***."
He took a step forward, putting down the plate he was holding to walk over them. However, before he even made his way around the cake, everyone watched as Xu Anyi slowly raised an eyebrow, then calmly turned around, grabbing the other slice of cake Xia Yiwei had put down.
Then, before anyone could react, she took a step forward and smashed the cake straight into Xia Yiwei's chest, so hard she fell back a few steps.
Everyone gasped simultaneously as their eyes followed the destroyed cake onto the ground.
Xia Yiwei's mouth also fell open as she looked at the cream and cake all over her white dress, in the exact same position as where she had "attacked" Xu Anyi.
Xu Anyi smiled slightly.
"Sorry, I did do it on purpose."
