Chapter 24: I guess she needs a new pet

Luca was so bothered by the weird encounter she had in the elevator she ended up not taking the morning jog as planned. Instead, she went to the buffet to enjoy a cup of coffee.

'I've met all sorts of strange people, but that one is memorable,' she thought, staring at the beach outside as she was occupying the table right next to the window. She shook her head, unable to get this unsettling feeling out of her head.

"Is it because I was attracted to him at first?" she mumbled, jumping when Georgina's voice came behind her.

"Attracted to who?" Georgina chuckled playfully, taking the seat across Luca. She was carrying Nova in her arms, smiling happily at Luca. "I saw Nova wandering in the penthouse. Good thing I was the one who saw her."

"Really? Oh, god! Thanks." Luca smiled awkwardly while Georgina passed Nova over the table. When Luca glanced at Nova, her brows furrowed.
