Chapter 28: Chapter 027- Madara's Mental Breakdown
---With Hashirama Senju---
Following Black Zetsu's instruction, Hashirama quickly managed to find the hideout. As he found Madara sitting in a chair looking quite old, he didn't say anything as they both just stared at each other trying to confirm whether the other party is the real deal.
"How are you still alive?" Hasirama is the first to break the silence with his question.
"Hmph. I am alive because I am better than you. Even though you managed to defeat me in the battle, I was the one to live much longer than you in the end." Madara replied with his usual tone.
Hashirama didn't get angry at his words instead he just gave out a smile and said, "I am happy that you are still alive, Madara."
Madara snorted at the reply and asked in a curious tone, "How did you manage to get resurrected again?"
"It was quite easy. My brother managed to perfect the reanimation jutsu and created a new jutsu which can let anyone be resurrected in their perfect stage. By the way, do you want your brother to be resurrected?" Hashirma asked knowing how much Madara used to love his brother Izuna.
So, now that Hashirama has a chance of making up for the mistake that his brother did by killing Izuna, he was quite happy in his heart.
Hearing that his brother can be ressurected again, Madara's breathing increased as he nearly agreed to the proposal. But just as the word 'yes' wanted to come out of his mouth, Madara quickly composed himself and replied in a negative tone, "No. I don't want my brother to live in this cursed world again. Until I manage to create the perfect world that I envisioned, I don't want him to be resurrected."
Hashirma became quite upset at his friend's words and said, "Are you talking about your dream that you mentioned to me before leaving the village?"
"Yes. I have already found a perfect way to manifest my dream into reality. Soon I will be able to create a world where there will be no conflict and everyone will be happy." Madara said with confidence.
'Is this kind of world really possible!' Hashirma found it hard to believe. After he found the Konoha village and tried to create a peaceful world where everyone will be happy, he learned it in the hard way how unrealistic his ideal was.
But even after knowing that, he got really hopeful at Madara's words as he thought, 'If Madara has really managed to come up with a plan that would make the world peaceful, I will convince Sarutobi and others to help him in order to make our dream of the ideal world come true.'
"Can you tell me your plan of how you want to achieve your dream?" Hashirma asked in a eager tone.
Madara decided not to hide from Hashirama as he directly told the plan to him hoping that they would be able join hands together like the old times again. At the same time, Madara also took some precaution as well.
He secretly sent a white Zetsu quite far away from this location and asked him to reverse summon him the moment Hasirama gets angry and decides to attack him.
As Hashirama listened to the plan of the project tsukuyomi, his face started to became gloomier every second as he roared in anger, "Do you really believe this kind of world is what you and I envisioned back then? I am really disappointed in you that you could even come up with such a sinister plan to take away the everyone's freedom, Madara!"
"Hmph! You are still as naive as you were back then, Hashirama. Maybe using this plan would make me a villian in the eyes of the world. But I don't care about this small sacrifice as long as I can make this world peaceful."
"I know making them fall into the genjutsu would be like taking their illusory freedom away. But do you really think in this cursed world anyone has any freedom over their life? The answer is no. It is the strong who always decides the life of the weaks."
"In our childhood, I was weak. That's why I lost so many of my family members. Now that I have finally managed to become strong enough, I want to change this world to make it peaceful where nobody will have to die prematurely."
"As for giving up your freedom to get a peaceful life for you and your loved ones sounds like a fair deal to me. So, nothing you could say now is going to change my mind, Hashirama." Madara said with certainty.
Even after hearing Madara's explanation, Hashirama didn't calm down at all. Instead he started to more and more irritated because he couldn't find the right words to refute Madara. So, he just shouted back, "I don't care what you say Madara. But I will make sure to not let you go down this path,"
Just as the situation between Madara and Hashirama started to get tensed, Sarutobi and Black Zetsu arrived at the scene.
"Calm down, Hashirama senpai. Let me talk to Madara. I am sure I will be able to convince him to let go of his stupid plan." Sarutobi said to Hashirama.
"What did you say, brat?" Madara was quite irritated at his plan being called stupid as he tried to show some of his momentum to make Sarutobi scared.
Feeling this kind of momentum, Sarutobi didn't show any reaction as he calmly looked at Madara and said, "It's an honour to meet a legend like you, Madara-san. But if you really think your plan isn't stupid, then let me tell you something...."
Sarutobi slowly explained the history of the ninja world as well the real purpose of the eternal tsukuyomi which is to resurrect the ancestor of Chakra, Kaguya Otsutsuki.
Madara didn't believe in Sarutobi's words at first but with the confirmation of Black Zetsu, he totally lost his mind in anger.
"You bastard, I am going to kill you." Madara rushed toward Black Zetsu in an attempt to murder him. But before he could do so, Black slipped inside the earth to hide.
If Madara uses his Susanoo, he can easily dig out Black Zetsu from his hiding place. But with his current broken body, it is impossible to use Susanoo. So, he could do nothing but forcefully calm his anger down.
But as he did calm down, his face now looked totally lost. For his whole life, he has been trying to look for peace. He didn't even care to go against his best friend in order to achieve his goal. But in the end, it all seems like a joke.
Everything he has been doing was under someone's control from the start. With Madara's proud nature, he absolutely can't accept such a thing. That's why, he seems so lifeless right now.
Sarutobi looked at Madara's current state and felt slight pity for him. He looked at Hashirama and said, "Senpai, you should comfort him. Otherwise with his current state, it is possible to commit suicide. I am sure you don't want to loose your friend just after meeting him."
Hashirama nodded as he sat beside Madara to talk about life.
