Chapter 19: First Mission
After hunting all the damn boars and manipulating the little soldiers before him, Baal and the others decided to return to the village.
"So why are we doing this mission again?" Yato asked.
Magna groaned and explained again, "It is a sacred mission that the village chief gave us because the captain is a saint and would help anyone in need."
Baal stayed silent while Noelle and Asta seemed to believe their senior and took his words to heart about the sacred mission.
As they were walking, they came upon a sight of the village covered in a dome of mist. 'Trouble ahead.' Baal mused. "Wow, the weather sucks in that town." Asta seemed amazed.
Noelle couldn't believe someone as dumb as him existed, "You idiot, that's magic." "What?!" We all ran toward the boundary of the mist dome and discovered that we couldn't get through it.
"Asta," Baal looked at the dome, "Use your sword to cut the magic."
"Yeah! I got it!"
He took out his sword from his grimoire and swung it numerous times creating a path toward the center of the conflict with Magna guiding us through. We saw the villagers grouped up on the ground with Icicles above threatening to end their lives.
"Explosive Scattershot!"
Balls of fire flew to the sky and broke the icicles threatening the villagers. "The magic knights..." Someone whimpered out of relief.
Magna rushed over and saw the mayor on the ground pale, and not breathing. "The mayor, he tried to protect us." Someone cried out. "Are you the bastards who did this?!" Magnus shouted at the people in robes.
"You'll all be executed in ten seconds." The man said with smoke coming out after every breath. A giant ball of ice appeared and shot out at high speed at everyone.
"[Cut]"
The massive ball of ice got cut in half! The two split pieces were disintegrated into black particles. "Trouble, trouble, trouble, nothing seems to go the right way that I want it to. Am I just that unfortunate?" Baal lamented.
Baal stepped up and announced, "Let's finish this up quick, I don't want to spend more time here than I have to."
'They talked too much, and the fight went long in the anime. I don't remember everything that happened, but I do remember that there is just too much talking!'
'Did he just cut my magic in half? Hmm, Let's keep a safe distance from him.'
Heath has short grey hair combed backward. One of his most prominent features is the scar at the right-hand side of his forehead, which is elongated across his face all the way to his left cheek.
Asta stepped up and yelled, "How could you do this?!"
'No! Why did you ask?' Baal didn't want this. Deciding to rush this fight, he grabbed Asta by the shirt. "Fight," he whispered before he threw him. "Whaaaaat???" Asta flew and couldn't believe that Baal did that to him but deciding to focus on the fight, he swung his sword.
"Be lost in the mist."
A huge stream of mist covered Asta and caused him to swing too early in panic. He swung his sword to erase the mist around him. Heath was even more cautious.
'He can also negate magic?'
The Ice magic users spread mist everywhere and crystallin icicles floated in the air aiming at everyone.
"[Ice and Mist Compound Magic: Endless Ice Cage]"
"Can you protect anyone now?" Heath uttered with his irritating voice before he shot the icicles at the villager.
"[Cut]"
The incoming icicles shattered and dissolved into black particles, "I don't know why I'm prolonging this fight. Let's speed this up, shall we?" Baal took a couple steps forward.
"[Abyssal Spike]"
Black spikes abruptly emerged from the ground and surrounded the villagers.
"Now with the dead weights protected, I only need to focus on you." Baal smiled, his blood red eyes piercing Heath's soul causing a speck of fear inside. Something that Heath rarely felt.
Baal took one additional step forward and then...
Swoosh!!
Heath's eyes widened, "He disappeared?!"
Heath instinctually felt something that was a threat against his life and conjured an ice wall.
"Sorry but that wall of yours won't be helpful." Baal reappeared and slashed downward.
Heath's ice wall split in two pieces and a shallow but painful wound scarred his chest. He flung into the stone building and coughed up blood from the impact and then passed out.
'I controlled my strength so I wouldn't kill him. That wouldn't be a good thing to show these kids.'
"[Flame Binding Magic: Blame Bondage Formation!]"
A flame rope surrounded the ice mages bodies, including Heaths and squeezed tight like it was something you would like to find if you were a masochist.
However, one of the mages bodies turned into puddles of water and disappeared.
"How'd you like that, damn it?!" Asta screamed victoriously and everyone smiled while Noelle and Baal felt kind of embarrassed at this action.
The villagers came up to the black bull members and thanked them. A blue and red bird all of the sudden appeared from Asta's clothing and flew away.
Seeing this, Baal was flabbergasted, "Everything to do with this kid is weird."
The Black Bull members walked up to Heath tied up against the wall by flames and seemly awake after the beat down that Baal gave him along with the two ice mages.
"You finally awake, you jerk?" Magna said and pointed, "I'm going to rest a bit more and then escort you to the royal capital of my Crazy Cyclone."
"Spend the rest of your life atoning for what you did to those villagers, you bastards. You are going to spill everything you know including who you are and what you guys want."
"I refuse." He paused, "It appears the end has come." Heath muttered and his body spewed a bring purple light.
Magna eyes widened, "There was a magic item inside of him?!"
"[Ice Magic: Ice Burial]"
Him and the three ice mages suddenly got covered in ice and shattered with the ice particles drifting away in the air proving his dead loyalty for the one that he is the subordinate of.
Baal looked at this with admiration in his eyes.
"What admirable loyalty."
