"You think I am the only one this family needs?" Daniel's expression turned cold and gloomy. "Do you think mom doesn't need you? I don't need you? If anything happens to you, do you think I’ll be able to forgive myself?

Owen opened his mouth, wanting to retort, but Daniel left no room for that.

"How do you expect me to lead a normal life when I know you are out there, risking your life trying to find the man who killed our father? We’ve been through many things together, and we’re going to continue doing the same," Daniel stated. "We’re going to find out the truth together. Do you understand? You’re not doing this all by yourself. I’m not going to allow that."

Owen didn't object this time. Instead, he nodded and hugged his brother. "You know I love you, right?"

Daniel nodded and patted his back. "I know."

"Look at the two of you hugging each other so affectionately," Damon scoffed.

Daniel chuckled and invited him for a group hug. "Come here—"
