Chapter 11: Chapter 11:A dream of power
It is not uncommon for someone to have nightmares on Apokalyps but fear of a nightmare was something only lowlies and weaklings had
It was a rare occasion for Mall-Valtrex to have a bad dream even if he lived on a planet that was a nightmare in and out of itself he had never felt true fear until now but it could be expected after an encounter with Darkseid who would have killed him even if he were his son but the dream was no about Darkseid rather it was of something he had been promised since before he first transmigrated an Infinity stone.
Mal dreamt of being trapped in a yellow void as multiple horrid figures in different shapes attacked him he fought them off well the figures gathered together and raised their hands and began to chant something that Mal soon realised
The figures words were now all too familiar to him now
"In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil might, beware my power, Green Lantern's light."
A green light began to shine and pushed him back it damaged him a great deal but as they were going to finish him off the yellow light appeared again and out of nowhere a yellow stone appeared before him and Mal could already tell what it was it was the mind stone one of the Infinity stones he had been promised he immediately grabbed it as it merged with his body he felt the power and he knew what to do upon grabbing the stone he commanded the minds of the green lanterns and ordered them to kill each other and so they did.
Mal cackled cruelly at the sight and he awoke in his room without the mind stone or the Lanterns it was then that he realised the Mind stone must be with the Green lanterns on tier home world.
It only made sense since the Soul guide did say he would hide the stones in important locations in the DC universe, Mal set up in his bed as Alpha who normally slept on his bed moved over to his to greet him good morning this brought Mal out of his train of thought, Mal decided he would give it a shot but currently, the Guardians have a treaty of sorts with dear old dad Darkseid and me just entering their home world might be troublesome but to my knowledge, the treaty seems to be more appeasement than anything since it's like how the league of nations treated Hitler by mostly trying to appease him until he goes too far since the Guardians simply let Darkseid take world after World my goodness have they always been this useless?
I better look into it deeper in case I start something unnecessary. But for now back to my mission.
I met up with Steppenwolf who went straight to explaining my new mission, it was simple I would be going to one of the colony worlds where I would monitor the inhabitants as they attempted to raise a rebellion there I would meet up with Amazing Grace at the main base.
The job was simple enough: monitor the world, crush the rebellion, make sure that all the planet's important resources were brought back to Apocalypse for refining and the inhabitants learn to fear Darkseid, right?
Yep so then after the mission briefing, I was going to have to pick some people to bring with me, I picked my good old hound Alpha and best girl Barda I also got three other female furries as well since Steppenwolf didn't just want us three out there alone.
Geez, Uncle, I'm not that horny, but I'm going to be surrounded by hot girls and my dog sounds pretty cool.
After that Steppenwolf was satisfied and decided to let me prepare for my mission and assign me the proper resources.
After that, I went back and trained with Alpha and practised my Gravity for a few hours then went to bed where I had the same dream again that ended in the same way.
