Chapter 14: Strange

The night after the great Prom escapade. Orion and Strange got together for a much-needed talk. Orion and Strange sat across from one another, Orion stared at strange with fury in his eyes.

" Well?" Orion asked the man.

" I Know you must have many questions. But must you glare at me?" Strange asked the boy as he sipped his tea. " Judging from your silence, I have my answer. So, I'll be honest with you. I'm sure you remember when we first met." Strange told the boy.

" Of course, I do." Orion replied. " I remember every moment until I passed out."

" Well, I had a choice to make. I could have killed you right then and there. And I was going to. I really considered it. But then I saw the look of sadness on your face, and I couldn't bring myself to kill a child. So, instead I took you in." Strange explained to the boy.

" I know all this already strange. What I want to know is what you did to my head. My mind, what did you change?" Orion asked the man.

" I'm getting there." Strange told the boy. " After a while I learned that I could not tame your destructive tendencies alone. So, I summoned the Aid of your martial arts teacher Shang-Chi. We began teaching you together and things definitely started to get better. You were less destructive but you still exhibited signs of unfettered rage and aggression. So, I decided to place inside your mind several mental blocks with the help of a long time friend of mine Charles Xavier. Though he disagreed at first, after I showed him the results of your many rampages, he reluctantly agreed to do so. Once we had you set within the runes I placed, Charles would then come into the room and use his telepathy." Strange explained to the boy.

" To mess with my mind?!" Orion yelled in anger. " To make me your little puppet?!" Orion exclaimed.

" You need to calm down and think logically. You know how dangerous you were. You said so yourself. You needed to be controlled." Strange told the boy.

" I am NOT!" Orion yelled as he kicked the table, they were sitting at across the room. " YOUR PROPERTY!"

" You need to calm down. I did what I did for your own good." Strange told the boy.

" My own good? You manipulated and toyed with my mind. I don't even know who I really am. I have a girlfriend now. I don't know who she fell in love with. Me? Or the image of me you created." Orion told the man. " You have wronged me Strange. I trusted you and you stabbed me in the back. I thought I was a monster for so long. But right now the only monster I see... Is you." Orion told the man.

" I am... Sorry you feel that way. It was never my intention to do you harm. I've only ever wanted the best for you. And that still remains true. I will not apologize however for doing what I believed to be right by you and the world." Strange told the boy.

" Don't ever come near me again." Orion told the man. He then turned and started to walk away from the man.

" Orion, wait." Strange called out to the boy. He reached out to grab the boy's shoulder but quickly retracted it when Orion snapped back around and growled at him.

" Don't you touch me. You ever try to touch me or come near me again and I'll show you just how much of a threat, I really am." Orion told the man. He then turned back around and stormed out of the room.

Strange took a deep breath and sighed before sitting back down in his chair.

" Didn't go well did it?" Hank asked as he stepped into the room.

" No. No, I don't suppose it did." Strange replied.

" Can you blame him for being mad?" Hanka asked the man.

" Don't lecture me, Hank. Not after everything you've done." Strange told the man.

" It's because of what I've done and been through Strange, that I'm the perfect person to tell you you were wrong." Hank told the man.

" You are right, Hank. I only hope my mistakes do not cost us all." Strange told the man.

Orion walked towards his room and slammed the door behind him and sat down on the bed.

" Heh! So, you finally know the truth. I wondered how long it would take for you to finally catch on." Cyttorak told the boy.

" You again. You should go leave. I'm in no mood to deal with you today. I already told you it was useless." Orion said to the man.

" Oh, but boy. It wasn't useless. Look at you. You've finally accepted what you are. And that's all I've ever wanted." Cyttorak told the boy,

Orion lifted his head and stared into his mirror.

" Welcome boy. Your real journey begins now." Cyttorak told the boy before vanishing once more.
