Chapter 70: This Lack of Self Control I Fear is Neverending

This third, unknown wolf's howl turned into yelping, without Shuule so much as changing her position. She had no idea what was happening, but took her good fortune in stride, shifting back into her fox and rolling out of his way as he collapsed on all fours and writhed on the ground.

Behind him stood a massive, mountain of a man, a bear, with a pot of melted cast iron. It was the iron smelter Set and her had met previously. As quick as she was able, battered and torn up, the fox scrambled to her feet, slinking into the bear's shop.

It was hot, humid, and dark, but most of all, safe. Almost unable to catch her breath, Shuule peaked her red head around the door frame, to see an all out war... on her behalf. The wolf man that had grabbed Shuule was now mortally burned, crawling on the ground for shelter. The white wolf who had started it all was standing, heaving on all fours, his neck stained in blood, but shaking the pain off, trying to sniff out his prey.
