Chapter 8: Making A New Friend
After a minute she finally said, "How about this, when you're finished with the archery quest we can party up and hunt together."
"Okay, that sounds good to me."
"Great! Hopefully it will be much easier with two people. I still need to complete my dagger quest, so I'll be back in a little bit."
"Okay, see you then."
Enzo waved at Pepper and returned to archery practice.

Enzo was able to complete the quest in no time.

It was much easier to hit the target after Pepper gave him a few tips, so it only took another hour to complete the quest.
Enzo even got close to hitting the bullseye on a few occasions.
"I'll save daggers for later because the mechanics are probably similar to a normal sword just on a smaller scale." He mumbled to himself.
As he was going to just do the dagger quest later, Enzo decided to use his stat points now.

Enzo figured he could always upgrade his other stats later, but his survivability was the most important thing right now.
With his agility now at 5, he would be as fast as the top 1% of humans would be if they just entered the game.
Enzo then turned around to the direction he saw Pepper walk off in.
She was already walking back towards him.
"You all done?" she asked.
"Yup, are you ready to go hunting?"
"Yes, let's go."
The two started walking back towards the south of the village.
Enzo gave one last look at the gates that led to the big mansion.
He knew he had to find a way to meet the mayor, but he knew it wouldn't be as easy as walking up to the gates and asking.
Pepper and Enzo soon reentered the sea of players and NPCs that flooded the streets.
It took almost 40 minutes to get to the other side of the village just because of how many people were constantly in their way.
'Time.'

5 hours had passed since Enzo logged into Legends Reborn Online. That meant he only had 11 hours of playtime left before he had to log off.
Luckily it was the summer time, and Enzo took a vacation from his job, so he didn't have to worry about his 11 remaining hours being interrupted.
When they reached the gates, Enzo was stunned.
The wall surrounding the village was about 15 feet tall and made purely of stone.
It had a large wooden gate that was lifted up at the moment and two soldiers in metal armor guarding each side.
The gate wasn't wide, so there weren't any soldiers on the top, but there were peek holes throughout the wall that some guards were stationed at.
Before they went through the gate Enzo remembered something, "Wait, how will we party up? I thought the friend list wouldn't be available until we reach level 10?" He asked Pepper.
"Open up your friends list."
Enzo did as she said, and quickly realized why she said to do so.

He focused on Pepper's name, and another screen appeared.
[Would you like to send a friend request to Pepper? Yes/No]
He then pressed yes.
She opened her own menu and accepted the request.
[Pepper has invited you to join their party, do you accept? Yes/No]
Enzo then accepted the invite.
He was able to send requests to nearby players, but wasn't allowed to look up other players' names just yet.
This meant that while they were in the starter village the players could befriend other players in the same village, but could not befriend anyone outside of their village.
"How did you know about that?" Enzo asked.
Pepper shrugged her shoulders and said, "I heard the people in the plaza talking about it."
Enzo nodded his head.
They then continued through the gates after giving the guards a polite nod, which they returned.
Outside of the gates was a large forest that seemed to span infinitely in all directions, as far as they could see.
There were many other players running out of the gates and into the forest as well, so it was very loud and crowded even before passing the trees.

Enzo reached into his inventory and pulled out all of his weapons and strapped them on.
His daggers were sheathed in a belt that made an X over his torso with the hilts of the daggers facing forward.
On the back of the same belt sat the sheath of his sword.
The hilt of the sword peaked over Enzo's left shoulder.
He had his quiver of arrows seated over the sword and peaking over the right shoulder.
His bow was also strapped over his chest, but in a way that didn't inhibit the draw of any other weapon.
"That's a lot of weapons." Pepper said with an eyebrow raised.
She only had a long curved dagger on one hip and a shorter straight dagger on the other hip.
"What's your class?" She asked.
"I'm a Monster Slayer. It is supposed to be a very versatile class, which is why it comes with so many weapons. I assume I will get skills related to these weapons later, so I want to be able to use all of them."
"Ah, okay. I chose the Stalker class. It is like the Rogue class, but more focused on tracking than killing. However, that doesn't mean I am useless in a fight."
