Chapter 23: Love Or Friendship?

At Night, Elverne Resident.

Arina is daydreaming alone in her room. She imagines Leon's handsome and cute face that she has never seen before. Sweet face with a warm smile. Leonardo is too desirable and scratches a deep impression in Ariana's heart.

"Ah, why do I think about him?" Ariana shakes her head to erase Leonardo's images from her mind. She sinks her face into the pillow, rocking her legs on the bed.

"Ariana!" Kyara exclaims. She enters her daughter's room without permission, making Ariana gets up immediately. She doesn't want her mother to see her lousy attitude.

"Yes, Mom?" She asks.

"Where are you going after school? Why do you get home this late?" Kyara showers Ariana with questions.

"I went to my friend's house before going home, Mom. Hang out for a few hours." Ariana's smile.

"Oh, I see. Which one? What is her name?"

"Ee... e..., her name is Jasmine, Mom." Ariana has doubts at first, but finally, she reveals Jasmine's name in front of Kyara.

Kyara's brows furrow when she hears Jasmine's name mentioned by her daughter. But the suspicion immediately disappears. There is no way Jasmine -El Richo's illegal child from Rosie- can go to ALDE HS, so she must be another Jasmine.

"Why are you looking for me, Mom?" Ariana adjusts her sit position.

"Oh, ya, try them, Ariana. Mommy orders these dresses especially for you. Wear one of them to our party, and be the center of attention." Kyara takes off a dress from the mannequin, three dresses in total. They are all gorgeous.

"Why do you make so many dresses, Mom? Isn't it just a standard hotel opening party? I usually wear an ordinary dress, not fancy like this." Ariana stares in wonder at the three special dresses. Kyara even ordered them from a famous designer. This fashion designer often made dresses for many wealthy families.

"Of course it's special, didn't you say Louise Aldebaran and his family would be there. You have to look gorgeous and stunning in front of them." Kyara pushes the dress to her chest.

"To amaze Uncle Louise??" Ariana is surprised.

"Tsk!! This stupid girl!! Of course, to amaze his son, Leonardo! But through his father's support too. Louise likes you, Ariana! And you must show yourself to him that you're worthy of being Leonardo's life partner." Kyara helps Ariana undress with a few maids.

"Huh?? Leon?! Life partner?? What do you mean, Mom?" Kyara's big plan surprises Ariana.

"We're planning to introduce you and set you up with Leonardo, Ariana. Yes, I know our chances might not be great, but it wouldn't be false to try it." Kyara smiles passionately. She has high hopes for her daughter.

"No, Mom. Don't be like this! Leonardo can't accept me." Ariana refuses the dress. She knows how much Leon loved Jasmine. No way she can enter a gap between them, even more, to enter his heart.

"Tsk!! Stupid girl! Even if Leon doesn't accept you, as long as Mr. Louise accepts you, Leon will obey! After you two are engaged, all you have to do is attract his sympathy and love." Kyara forces Ariana to wear the dress.

"But, Mom."

"Shhh...! look at the mirror, Ariana. You're gorgeous and charming. Aldebaran family will certainly be happy to accept you as their daughter-in-law." Kyara pushes Ariana in front of the mirror.

Ariana sees her reflection in the mirror. Indeed, her beauty is so perfect, and with this red dress, she is wearing now. Certainly, all men will immediately bend their knees to her. Of the men, Leonardo is the right and the most suitable man to walk side by side with her.

[ Is it true? Can Leon be mine?! Then, what about Jasmine? ] Ariana asks in her heart. She is standing between love and friendship; what will she choose?

Should she betray her best friend for the sake of the big family name and her heart that starts beating for Leonardo?
