Chapter 5: An unexpected visit
I somewhat learnt the basics of using spells and such. So my mother said to look after the house today. She told me that she was going to shop today.
So what am I doing today you ask?
Well, I'm basically reading some manga that I've been planning to read for a while.
Well, nonetheless it's not a bad idea to rest every now and a then. Well they do say 'all work and no play makes a man miserable' or something like that.
I don't really know. I'm not good at quoting people.
But just as I was at the good part of the story
*knock* *knock*
I heard someone knocking the door.
I proceeded towards the door
"I'm coming! I'm coming! Would you please stop knocking?"
Who ever this person behind the door, really needs to learn to listen to others.
I opened the door, who or what I saw was surely unexpected. It was neither my John or my classmate. I have never seen that person before.
"How can I help?" I offered my help to the stranger
She grabbed my arms and pulled me,
Like she was leading me somewhere.
"There's no time to explain. We need to get out of here"
"What do you mean??"
She didn't answer my question. As she hastily pulled me some out in the city.
"Hey hey hey! Where are you leading me into? Isn't this a dark alleyway?"
"Just shut up will you? We're almost there."
"Almost where? To a fucking murder site? Explain yourself! At least tell me your name"
Her grip on her hands tightened
We were heading to a dead end.
I don't know where she is leading me, this is not something that happens everyday for sure.
"This is the place" she mutters
"What do you mean? Is there an Assassin trying to kill me here or something?"
"Stop with your ridiculous assumption.
My name is Iruri. Please stay put. He'll soon welcome us"
"What?"
Then there was a expanding gooey stuff beneath our feet.
It quickly devoured us.
It was pitch black, there was only a white pathway.
"What the fuck. Where am I?"
"Don't worry we won't harm you. We just need to ask you a favour. Well I'll let him fill in the details."
"Again, who the hell is this 'him' guy you keep talking about?"
I felt a tap on my shoulder. I flinched from the sudden input I got on my shoulder.
"Hello, I'm him"
Then the pitch blackness transitioned to a room. There was a chair, and some monitors behind the chair. I looked around and saw some documents files, a cup of empty coffee. Some pen and and cardboard boxes on the side of the table which was located at the side of the room
"Who are you?" I asked
"Greetings, Nuru, my name you don't really have to know. But my name is Tao, Tao Sotaki. And I assume that you don't know the existence about shadows yet."
"What's that?" I asked, not expecting much of an answer.
"Shadows are beings that manifest, that manifest using the human heart. They are like a monster that manifest using the emotional condition of the the human heart."
"What are you on about?"
"Don't worry I'm not done talking just yet. These creatures roam the world. But they are mostly harmless and are invisible to ordinary people. And each people can manifest one if they meet the specific requirements you see. "
"What are the specific requirements?"
"There are three requirements. First being that you need to face a near death situation. That you already met.
The second being knowing or suspecting the presence of shadows. Or being told directly. Which has just happened a few moments ago.
And the third, is to be attacked by one."
"Why would I need a shadow pet of my own? I can already use magic"
"Just wait a watch"
I then felt a piercing pain in my heart.
It was very painful, It was as though I was stabbed with a very sharp needle.
While in pain a grabbed Tao by shirt and I yelled at him.
"WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME YOU BASTARD?!?!"
"Relax bro, It won't kill you"
The pain finally stopped and the first thing I saw was a weird monster behind the back of Tao.
There was 7 eyes floating around his back, they were connected by some kind of tube. It was as though the eyes were judging my every move.
Like the movement of my eyes, my breathing, the sweat, how fast my eye blinked. It was like the feeling I felt when I first entered the classroom on the first day of school, but atleast 10 times worse.
"That is what you call a shadow, people who a directly connected with a shadow through the heart are called shadow-bounds"
"It seems that took you by shocked" said Iruri.
I then noticed Iruri suddenly had a fox-like ears and tail.
"When did you grow ears and tail?"
I expressed with confusion.
"Well you should probably rest now, we'll meet again tomorrow."
The gooey shadow portal thing was beneath my feet again and it swallowed me in a second.
"Wait!"
I was back at my home, on the couch.
I, for some reason fell asleep.
