Chapter 7: a glimpse into the shadow (1)
After the event that happened to me yesterday, I woke up with a headache.
It was that creepy eye guy. Can't believe that happened to me. First the world got magic, and now I know the existence of shadows, it couldn't be more problematic than this.
I got out of the couch which a slept on. I don't know if the headache is from that dude or because I slept for too long. Anyhow it was not a pleasent experience,not in the least.
My mother greeted me with a good morning
"Good morning Nuru, you really slept like a baby. I couldn't wake you up yesterday evening. So I just let you sleep on the couch. My little baby is so big now that I can't carry you no longer."
Mother said with a tone that is clearly teasing.
"Come on mom, please don't talk to me like that it's embarrassing."
I quickly answered
"Come on eat breakfast, you little baby boy."
I sat down and ate breakfast. Since I skipped dinner, without my consent.I was very hungry, I ate a lot of rice.
After finishing the breakfast, I helped my mother clean up after the mess, and I also washed the dishes. After a while she said, "By the way, a girl has been waiting for you outside, I told her to come inside but she insisted to stay and wait for you outside. "
My eyes widened, I was surprised, even though I should have clearly expected this coming from a mile away, I got my guard down.
"I see..."
"Good luck on the date"
"She's not my girlfriend!!"
My mother sure do love teasing me, although I've never even thought having a girlfriend my entire life. Maybe it's as my mother use to say, I'm a late bloomer
I left my little residence, not know what would happen to me, anxiety fills my heart.
"So, you're finnally awake"
Iruri talked to me a playful manner
"Yes, I am. I haven't forgiven you people to what you did to me"
I carefully observed her ears and tails. Her ears twitching and her tail slowly swing from side to side.
"You can decide to forgive us or not after you fully understand the situation. Untill then we won't ask for forgiveness."
"So are we really going to the same place? And meet the same guy?"
I asked with dragging voice
"Of course."
A short reply, that's what I got. I didn't really complain again afterwards.
As we are closing to the same creepy dark alleyway, I asked Iruri,"Iruri, what exactly are you? You don't seem to be, a human."
"..."
A cold silence, it seems as though she didn't want to answer
"I see, it's okay if you don't want to tell me."
After a while, she answered, "I'm a Gedou, I'll tell you the rest of the details in the near future."
I didn't exactly know what that was, I decided that it was best not to force my way through.
As we were near the dead end, I saw a large fish like creature soaring through the clouds. I became defensive, and I prepared to cast a spell but mid-way through Iruri stopped me.
"It's best not to provoke them. Most of them won't attack you. You'd have to survive them to gain a shadow. Why do you think people rarely get shadows? It's due to this reason there are so little shadow-bounded people"
After we reached that same dead end, we were again swallowed by that black goo and it bought us to the same place.
"Yo! Welcome back little baby boy." Tao Sotaki greeted Nuru with smile on his face, sitting on his chair and his shadow with seven eyes on his back.
