Chapter 19: Chapter 19: 'King of beast' get taken down a peg
Third POV
"DAD!!!"
The boss of Shishigumi stopped his delirious speech and barely looked in the direction where the voice came from, a grin appeared on his muzzle. His subordinate brought another snack. Good little tools they were. Never something like someone entering and going up the tower crossed his mind.
"You have a son? Well that's fabulous, two for the price of one!", he happily exclaimed with a clap of his paw then looked with his now dilated pupils at the currently smirking axolotl, this confused the old lion. But he paid it no attention and started humming while going back to cut strips of skin. Animals in those kinds of situations aren't the most rational.
*CRACK*TEAR*
He was so lost in his own thoughts that he now only realised that he couldn't feel his left paw anymore, it was the one holding the scalpel, he also didn't hear the sound of bone and flesh and also the clang of metal against the wooden ground.
Axolotls and salamanders that weren't poisonous made carnivores and herbivores alike feel as if they took morphine and multiple other drugs such as cocaine. It was very addictive and had multiple other effects, helping in restoring tissues being one of them. He ate only a little and it affected him this much.
'Uh?', he brought his left 'paw' close to his face only to be horrified by the lack of said paw.
Lost was all of his good mood only confusion, incomprehension and denial at the reality in front of his eyes.
"Where is it? Wh-Where… whERe iS mY PAwS?!", he shrieked, his voice breaking down while he could only stare and try to clench his 'paw' into a fist, desperately waiting for any feedback but the only thing that came out of it was what remained of his palm spurting blood on his mauve sleeve, tainting it crimson red.
It was real, his hand was missing and the only thing he could see was a bloody mess, with HIS carpals (little bones on hands) visible, flesh and fur matted with blood dangling from the half palm.
His breathing was ragged, it started to hurt like a bitch, the morphine-like effect already wearing off his system. He could barely endure the pain.
'I'm going… to murder the son of a bi-', the lion was interrupted in his thoughts by a clawed tap on his shoulder.
"Excuse me *crunch* Sir 'I'm the king of beasts'… Do *munch* you have a moment to talk about *gulp* your imminent death?", he heard the same voice that said 'DAD!!!', this time it wasn't filled with worry, on the contrary.
The tone was extremely polite and respectful, but the content and the fact that whoever was talking to him was eating while doing so, showed unconditional contempt and utter disdain for him.
He wanted to be furious, but he knew better even in his state. The situation was bad.
He turned around with gritted fangs and strongly gripped his left wrist with his remaining paw. He saw a long and sturdy serpentine body, it was mostly coiled around itself and was composed of three different colours, the belly being olive green, above it was black then blue before becoming black again. Only the blue being skin.
It was just like any snake until he saw the start of a torso, clothed in one of their suits, there was also a slightly damaged bag attached to its waist, arms behind its back.
Chief looked higher and saw the black scaled head of the male teenager. He has bright and piercing lavender eyes, the lion quickly realized that it was the cause of the Chaos in the Black Market.
'Fuck… a hybrid.', he thought as he stared at the aberration before him, with mixed feelings of burning wrath and primal fear, the latter being crushed by his damaged pride as a lion and the Boss of the Shishigumi.
He caught sight of the blood around the mixed-breed lips and saw Cahaya grin before he took something from behind his back.
He stared at what looked like a bloody furred paw of a carnivore but with the index finger missing, it was his right paw.
Cahaya noticed the old lion stare and proposed, "Do you want some? It's extra fresh, in fact, I might add that it was exactly taken from the source less than one minute ago. It's even still warm.", he then twisted and tore off the major and started chewing it just after, making as much noise as possible.
He blew up and shouted in outrage, "That's my fucking paw!? Give it back to me you son of a b-" *SLAP*, he was slapped on the right side of his muzzle by the hybrid finned tail.
*BAM*×2, it was so hard that he bounced two times on the floor, disfiguring the lion in the process. The slap also made most of the fangs on the right side of the jaw fly out with blood added. And he made the expensive wood dirty with his blood and fangs.
Cahaya slithered close to the downed and moaning lion and coldly declared, "Dogs do not bark at their owner. Same goes for disobeying and biting or they will be punished, understood?", the feline weakly nodded at that, it finally clicked inside his head.
He screwed up everything. He was now not furious but truly scared, all his bravado gone. He didn't want to die.
"Excellent!", the hybrid said joyfully while clapping both his hands.
Then he felt something hit the ground, gazed at the source and saw Mamoru limping with difficulty in his direction, he had a small black knife in hand and an open cut at the end of his tail.
The cuts on his arm are gradually healing.
"Thank you for directly going to help you old man and not letting him be bound by rope, while you play with your new toy… don't break it too fast.", his Dad warmly said with a proud smile and trailed off at the end as he gazed without any shred of empathy at the 'toy'.
"Sorry Dad, I'm late.", his son responded, with a happy smile and gill thrilling in happiness knowing his Dad was more than fine with what he did.

Third POV
On one of the highest floors of the highest skyscraper of Zebuth.
It was in a modern room, with a full view of the illuminated night city below. It was a peculiar room, two sets of planters were seen all around the high-rise glazing unit. In them we can see carrots, each plant growing at an exact distance from the other. Showing the extreme care of the gardener.
In the soil of the planters, there were also the bones of various animals used as fertilizer. All of them from carnivores that were personally killed by the notorious Black Devil.
In the middle of the room, there was a single table with a tall black horse, looking not past his thirty, in truth he was in his late forty, he was eating alone, something unusual and it was carrot gratin, one of his favourite foods.
He was frowning while he listened to the report of one of his subordinates and friend, a rat. He was a Beastar, subordinates were indispensable.
"Yahya-sama there was an attack on the Meteorite Plaza. It was reported and we agreed with the police to say that it was an alliance between the Shishigumi and Madaragumi.", the Beastar's ears twitched at the news, it wasn't normal. He made a gesture for the rat to continue.
"There were 20 wounded students, 4 currently in reanimation, 1 missing teacher and 6 missing students. Luckily no death until said otherwise.", the rat breath continued but was stopped by Yahya.
"Who are the missing animals?", he was worried about them, especially if they were herbivores.
"Oh! Yes! Hmm for the students… one male red deer named Louis, one female dwarf rabbit named Haru, one male grey wolf named Legoshi, huh? Name Cahaya and a male naga? What is that?", the rat read in confusion and offered the electric notepad to his boss.
Yahya looked at it and looked at the information and his frown became even more pronounced as he read more and more about this naga.
Everything was strange, he appeared out of the blue not even one year ago, was declared as a new amphibian species by a sea scholar, or as he preferred to call amphibians, 'headache', just like a majority of marine animals but they were particularly annoying to deal with the treaty that considered herbivore on land made at the end of the Carni-Herbi War.
Cahaya was described as intelligent, smart beyond his years, helpful, preferred to do things by himself, ruthless and had a temperament for extreme violence when physically provoked or threatened. And he was idolised by a lot of students, making him powerful in Cherryton Academy.
He was sure that the teenager was the Student of the sea scholar, it was glaringly obvious.
He grew more and more interested as he learned about this strange student and his action till the attack when he was impressed by what the amphibian did. Especially how he literally KILLED more than a dozen of carnivores by himself to protect the others.
Then he looked at the face of Cahaya and his mind froze, as he looked at the eyes of the 'amphibian'. Now a lot of things made sense and he didn't like it.
"Hahahahahaha… no it can't be...", he started to laugh at the ridiculous idea and looked back at the picture, he didn't see wrong the eyes were lavender, it wasn't an amphibian, not entirely, Cahaya was a hybrid and a bastard of the Naja.
A hybrid of amphibians and other land animals was complicated enough but no, it was somehow worse and it made him remember things he would have preferred he didn't.
He breathed in and out, trying to calm himself but failed miserably and punched the thick oak table in pure anger.
Making a hole right through the innocent table, scaring the shit out of the rodent while at the same time sending him flying. He caught the rat before he fell to the ground and asked forgiveness.
He sighed and asserted, making no room for debate, "I'm going out…", he opened the elevator and then choose the ground floor.
It was going to be a bloody night, he needed to let off steam.
This night scream of criminals carnivores will be heard and fertiliser would be added for his precious carrot.
