Chapter 16: The band sets out once again

After spending the entire day drinking and having their way with their newly acquired 'wives', Reku and his band of orcs were finally prepared to resume their march once again.

Currently, Reku along with Grogor and their new companions were watching a demonstration of Wuka on how to make and cook smoked sausages.

As Wuka was wrapping the offals using an intenstine, Grogor was watching the thing in front of him with awe and curiousity.

He couln't believe that an orc that was once a muscle head can come up with something as productive as this.

Not only it was delicious, but it can also be saved for a few days without it rotting, such a thing can be used in many ways.

As Grogor was watching the show in front of him, Reku was eyeing him with a sense of pride, for after all it was him who made it in the first place.

After the sausages were made, Wuka began to smoke them using a crudely made smoker.

"Now we wait for atleast a few hours, and after that we can begin our march." Wuka said to Grogor and their new companions before turning his head towards Reku in an inquiring manner.

Reku nodded his head, indicating that they were about to move out the moment the sausages were finally smoked properly.

After that, the whole group were dismissed as the rest of the orcs went back to what they're doing earlier.

And as for Reku, he went back to one of the former Traku's hut that he claimed for himself before resting inside.

Since they already had a camp taken from the Trakus that now belonged to themselves, the prospect of making another camp was too tiresome and unnecessary.

Not only that, one of their new companions pointed out where the Trakus secretly stash their wines away, causing most of the orcs in Reku's band to be intoxicated during the whole night.

And as for Reku, he drank too much wine last night that right after he woke up, he can feel the brain inside his head is about to burst out.

But due to him being the group's de facto leader, he had to entertain his own warriors and their new companions with or without the pain during their breakfast.

Luckily, he managed to reduce half of the pain after eating Wuka's made sausages, nevertheless the pain was still there, thus after watching Wuka's demonstration in how to make smoked sausages, he immediately felt the urge to lie down and sleep, which led to his current position now.

As Reku was snorting like an exhausted boar, a small head suddenly showed itself on the hut's door, little did the sleeping orc know that it was the little female orc that he had laid eyes on yesterday that caused him to spare the younger orcs.

As the little orc was watching Reku sleep with eyes filled with curiousity, she did not notice the large hulking green beast that was slowly moving behind her back.

Before she could react, she was suddenly grabbed by two large green hands and was lifted unto the air like a mere object.

"What are you doing on our boss hut, huh?" Jan quickly stuff the little orc on his shoulder before walking away from the hut, most likely to place her somewhere where she is constantly watched.

The little female orc screamed using her squeaky voice and began wiggling and kicking under the grasp of Jan as she was dragged away.

By the time Reku woke up, he would be unaware of what had just transpired during his sleep.

Meanwhile, Grogor and his orcs were busy checking and cleaning the new weapons and leather armor outfitted to them while the rest spent the nest few hours lazing about and doing nothing.

And just like that, after a few more hours, Reku and his orcs had already packed up their belongings for an eventual march towards their destination.

Currently, Reku was in front of his group, gazing at the small band of warriors that were currently in a column formation.

Not only that, further in the back showed a small line comprising of female orcs and the younger cubs they managed to capture, all of them were bound and connected by a series of long ropes to prevent such escapes from happening.

As of right now, Reku is preparing to give a speech to the orcs before him.

"As you all know, the Trakus aren't but one camp, they are a slightly large clan with multiple camps and a single settlement at their disposal, not to mention hundreds of warriors they could field." Upon saying the first part of his speech, Reku has already caught all of the orc's attention.

"In addition, we are on their territory, and we will with no doubt, encounter more of them on our way towards home." Orcs nodded their head at this, some of them had grim expressions while others had eager ones on their faces.

Jan however was grinning like a maniac, probably excited and eager to participate in the future fights and battles that were about to occur in the future.

"Though they have the numbers... let's not forget they're Trakus, cowards of the cowards, the moment they saw strength greater than them, there is no doubt they would break ranks and flee." Though this statement was not accurate and was intented as a mockery, it was a good joke that managed to rile up some of the orcs with downcast expressions, they then chuckled in response to this.

"Remember you're a warrior under the command of me... under the command of Reku!" hearing this, some of the orcs began to cheer as they raised their blades on the air.

Seeing this, Reku can feel an overwhelming sense of pride engulf the entirety of his body.

"Those Trakus, they're a disgrace to the Gorkan race, now let's give the mighty Bog a favor and clean up this nuisance before they spread too big." Orcs began to laugh after hearing this, after all they knew the high chieftain of the Gorkans has a lot of problems on his sleeves, which includes the rebellious clans and tribes who began to desert the frontlines en masse.

"Now as we march towards our settlement, let's endure everthing those Traku cowards has to offer us, yes?" And just like this, the orcs began to cheer wildly, waving their blades high in the sky, eager to face any Traku attacks and ambushes on their way towards home.

After that, Reku immediately gave the signal for his band of orcs to finally depart.

"Move out!"

After the order was given, 41 orcs along with their few dozen or so captives in tow began to make their way towards Reku's nameless clan's settlement north from their current position.

From there, they began to traverse very slopy forestry terrain and sometimes found themselves fighting against various wild animals like boars and bears alike.

It was only after a few hours had passed did they encounter their very first major obstacle after they've began their march a few hours ago.

Currently, Reku and his band of orcs were hidden behind a large tree line, in front of them lies a wide but shallow river.

But that's not the thing Reku and his band of orcs are currently focusing their attention to, aside from the river, stood another group of Traku warriors.

They number at most fifty orcs, but all of them are currently in the middle of bathing in the river, which gave Reku and his band of orcs a very high fighting chance should they ever decide to attack them.

Though the sight of an orc bathing in the river greatly surprised Reku, considering they are after all a savage, dirty, and primitive creatures, Reku might thought of the possibility that orcs might have even the slightest bit sense of hygiene, even though they only bath if they feel they really are dirty, not to mention orcs might bath after a few months realizing that he or she is not clean.

As the orcs were observing the band of Traku warriors washing in the river, Reku meanwhile was thinking on how he can overcome them.

'We can sneak our way around and bypass them, but considering the splashes and various noises we'll make if we try to silently cross the river...' A plan suddenly formed itself on Reku's mind, but after finding it's negative consequences, he then quickly rejected the notion and began to think of another plan.

'If I were to attack them directly, then I'll have to commit most of my warriors in the attack, thus leaving our captives with no guards to watch over them.' Another thought crossed his mind, but immediately rejected it after finding it's not feasible.

"Shit." Reku cursed under his breath, but it was until another few seconds had passed did another thought crossed his mind, but this time, instead of rejecting the idea, he smiled in joy as he thought more about it.

After a minute of thinking, Reku withdrew from the treeline and began to make his way towards deeper in the forest.

After a few minutes of walking, Reku finally arrived in front of Jan and a group of orcs.

Currently, Jan alongside a small group of orcs was in charge of protecting and watching over the Traku captives while Reku and the rest of the orcs watch and observe the Traku warriors that were currently bathing in the river.

And as such, he was slightly surprised when he saw Reku standing before him.

"What brings you here, Reku?" Jan asked with a hint of curiosity in his voice.

"I have a plan." Reku immediately responded with a cruel smile on his face.
