I got there just in time to see what emerged from the egg. it was a wolf pup, but it looked like it had gone threw hell.
Its hard glowing red eyes and had ribs sticking out of its side and the face looked like it was burned off.
(also if you think of saying "wolves are mammals" then don't. the reason it came out of the egg is that it's a mystery.
also because wolves are hella cool, and to the person suggesting a snake, I was going to 100% going to do it. however, in the long term, the snake would be too op.
like, imagine it grows 90 feet and it strangles the zombie, and swallows them. so Nah that's to op, while the wolf to is op it's on the lower side comparing it to a bear or something.)

*bark* the wolf barked and ran towards me and started wagging its tail excitedly and running in between my legs.
I reluctantly started scratching behind its ears as I would for a dog, and it began to get excited and it jumped into my arms.
it started licking my face and this caused me to laugh and enjoy my time with the wolf as if it was a dog.
I lifted it and noticed that it was male and I put him back down on the ground and let him eat some of the white crystals that I had spare.
over his name, it started showing how many crystals he would need for an evaluation.

'an expensive little booger, aren't you,' I said carrying him to the living room.
"ahhh," I heard Vanessa yell.
I looked up and saw her pointing at the wolf pup that was now alert in my arms.
"What is that," Anna said hiding behind violet.
"It's my pet wolf. badass right," I said holding him forward to which most girls recoiled.
Eva looked curious about the wolf pup but other than that nobody wanted to get close to him.
"they don't want you, but your such a good boy aren't you," I said playing along with him.
he started wagging his tail and started spinning in circles trying to catch it.
"ain't you energetic... I think I'm going to name you bolt," I said as I watched him perk up at the name.
he started barking excitedly and he approached the four girls. Eva gathered her courage and bent down to bolt, and after bolt sniffed her hand he too began to lick her.
with bolt inside the bunker, it was now way livelier than before. sure people were dying outside but hey that's their problem.
the cannibals and flesh eaters were probably already emerging from whatever sewer they came from.
I was in my armory and I was making incendiary rounds in case one of the vampire zombies came by our safe house.
that's not the only thing I was doing though. I began to set a perimeter around our block, it was a tall electric fence that I stole from a private property a mile away from here.
I got the saw from a hardware store and began to cut off the metal pole to connect the electricity to the fence.
it was a makeshift fence so it won't be the best, but hey protection is protection.
bolt was following me while I was making the fence and occasionally eating some of the flesh of the zombies that I left behind.
I let him, after all, if he evolved into a bigger zombie then he can help me take out tanks easier.
bolt was now up to my knees and when I finished the outer walls I hacked into the surveillance system to monitor any signs of movement.
if there were any it would let me know from the headphone that was connected to the servers at the base.
"come on boy," I called as we headed back to the base.
so now I had a base, defense, weapons, and food to last us quite a while. the old me would have been scavenging supplies right now but I right now was way more prepared.
the giants will be a problem but they would still be manageable. the problem would come when the portals started appearing and those come out of there.
thinking about them made me shiver and I went back inside the bunker and I started making a fortified truck.
the front and side windows were filled with metal to stop bullets and then there were poles to stop them from coming In.
a flame thrower on top and there was a makeshift van in the back in case we needed somebody to watch our back.

"what is it," I called out.
(R.T.M the zombie's movements have been irregular and their patterns are changing. at first, they went straight to the gate and got electrocuted.
now the zombies are getting smarter and more creative. their movements are sluggish as if someone was controlling them.)
my eyes sharpened and I began to think about the many possibilities for this and my first guess was a type 5 mutant but I didn't want to take away the possibility of someone being able to control monsters.
you had to be a mutant level 4 to get this ability or ... a cannibal. it seemed like we would be having an enemy sometime soon.
'system begin the upgrade,' i thought
