Chapter 3: Droplets

"Lyra," someone called out in a melodious voice as the girl slept.

"The voice," she said as she opened her eyes and saw Jane standing before her.

"Jane," she called out and the girl smiled brightly.

"I am leaving now," she said.

"I see, well good luck and have a safe trip, I hope to see you soon and here a parting gift," Lyra replied as she got up, picked up a well-wrapped box from the floor, and gave it to her then patted the girl on the head.

"I hope to come back someday your highness, I also think you need to be at the academy soon or are you not going today?" Jane asked.

"I will be going today, don't worry, I thought about it, I have to," she responded.

"I see well goodbye, my lady," the girl said with a bow.

"Bye Jane," she replied then the girl smiled and left.

"Damn I am going out now," she thought as she grabbed her clothes and went to freshen up.

After she finished, the girl got dressed into her uniform which was a purple with black stripes short skirt, a body-fitted white button-front shirt and a purple jacket with the royal golden dragon crest on the right side of the jacket on top of the small pocket, a purple bow on her shirt and her hair was down with a small pony on top of her head and a black high heel shoe and a black stocking hooking under her skirt.

When the girl finished getting dressed she left the castle in a black car heading to their cafe in the city.

Upon arriving there the rain started pouring down and she smiled.

"Your highness do you have an umbrella?" the driver asked.

"No need for one, a little rain won't kill me," she responded and he sighed.

"You can fall sick though, my lady," he said as she opened the car door and went out into the rain.

"Ah, it's so cold and nice," she said as the driver parked the car by the side and at the same time she heard honking.

"Your highness," the driver shouted as a car was coming straight at her and her eyes widened as her body stiffened but someone grabbed her by the waist and pulled her out of the way.

"You okay?" the person asked as her eyes trembled along with her hands.

"Your highness are you okay?" the driver asked as he came out, she looked up at the umbrella over her then smiled and the guy moved his arm from around her as she turned to look at him.

"Thank you," she said.

"You are welcome," he replied as he took his hood off and she sighed then he smiled brightly as his bright blue eyes shimmered and his brown hair blew up with the cold wind while droplets of rainwater blew onto his fair skin as she stared at the slim yet muscular guy.

"Are you okay Lyra?" he asked.

"Yeah I am fine thank you, Cyris," she responded for he was one of her good friends from the academy.

"You are welcome, you are also really wet and in your uniform," he said as he took his jacket off and gave it to her then she put it on and looked at her driver with a smile.

"I am fine, you can join us or wait in the car," she said and the driver sighed in relief.

"I will wait in the car my lady, have fun," he replied as he went back to the car and the two went to the cafe.

"Are you cold?" Cyris asked as she sighed.

"Nope I am fine," she responded.

"You should be a little more careful you know, I don't want anything happening to one of my most favorite person in this crazy world," he said as she leaned forward then patted him on the head.

'You worry about me a little too much, I will be just fine, I just have a weird addiction to water," she replied as he ordered them cappuccinos.

"Are you happy to be graduating soon? this is our final term and they are already marking the papers," he said.

'Yeah aren't you?" she asked as a frown appeared on his face.

"Cyris... what's the matter?" she asked.

"You know... I wanted to talk to you about this for a while, I might have to leave after," he responded and she downed her head as her hair fell before her face.

"L- Lyra," he called out with a worried face and she smiled then looked at him.

"Everyone has their own life to live, I would understand if you have to, don't worry too much about it, you know my luck is always with you," she said and he smiled brightly.

"Thank you," he replied.

"No need to thank me, you better keep in touch or I will make you pay," she said and he laughed.

"I am glad you accepted to be my friend, Lyra," he said as she stared at him.

"Likewise, I don't have many friends but having you and the others around is more than enough," she replied while clenching her fists.

"Is something bothering you?" he asked.

"Just wondering what my future holds, I am not even sure what I will do, I didn't... I couldn't think of it before," she responded as Mira walked into the cafe and saw her sitting with a guy.

"That's weird," Mira thought with a smile on her face feeling happy that Lyra had more friends.

"Are you coming to the academy tomorrow?" Cyris asked.

"Yeah, we have another exam plus the project on the stars to hand in, we have been packed with work," she responded and he frowned.

"I am really happy this is the end, seriously it was exhausting," he said and she sighed.

'You really are clumsy aren't you?" she asked and he winked at her and then got up.

"Come with me to the academy," he said.

"Fine, I have to carry a few books back too and homework from last week, I got everything done," she said as she got up then sighed.
