Chapter 31: Captivated
Three years ago.
The Narrator.
"Get out! Leave my house." Davina's aunt yelled and pushed her out of her house.
"Your wench of a mother left nothing before she died, after all, you can't find anything meaningful to do with your life, why should you eat my food for free?."
Davina narrowed her eyes at her angrily, "Aunt!!. Did you just say I ate your food for free?You took my family's wealth and squandered it on drugs, how dare you say I eat your food for free?."
The woman scoffed, sending a dangerous look at her.
"I'll kill you if you come back here. Get out!." She shut the door to her face.
Davina bent down and began picking up her belongings which her aunt threw on the floor, tears spilling down her face. That has been what she was going through since her parents died, her aunts are all the money they left for her, maltreating and treating her wrongly.
She heard footsteps approaching her and as she looked up, a young handsome man was standing in front of her.
She watched as the man bent over and picked her white sneaker and stretched it towards her, she took it from him unsure of what this man was doing.
The man bent down to her level and asked, "What is it that you truly desire?."
Davina looked at him, eyeballs to eyeballs, she had suffered in the hands of her aunt just because she was helpless.
She needed to have something that no one would look down upon her again.
"Power. I want power." She was firmly determined.
Immediately, her aunt opened the door again and saw Davina.
"What the fuck are you still doing here?."
Matteo smirked and said, "You must lose to get. I'll give you power only if you sever ties with this woman."
Matteo took out a gun from his jacket and handed it to Davina.
Davina cocked the gun and pointed it at her aunt, the woman's eyes grew wide and before she could utter a word, Davina pulled the trigger and shot her in the face.
Matteo giggled and placed his hand on her shoulder, "Come with me and I'll make you not only powerful but richer than Giovanni."
Present day.
Vanora Campbell.
All I saw was darkness, my hands were tied behind my back, and it was so tight that I felt blood dripping from my wrist. My body ached, everything in me was searing, burning pain that wanted me to scream. My head felt like shattered glass engulfed in my skull. It was like my body was on fire.
I had been yelling at these immature idiots for the past hour, and that made one of them tape my mouth shut and put a sack over my fucking head.
How did I get here?
I woke up and saw myself chained like a sacrificial lamb. I wanted to see who had the balls to kidnap me, oh I swear I'll kill that motherfucker before breaking free.
I heard footsteps approaching, finally, someone was coming, the sack was taken out of my head, I blinked, adjusting to the light in the room.
And that was when I saw that face, that man I met at the party, the one who was an unfamiliar friend to the Romano family.
"Wait, you?." I asked, blinking rapidly as if a hand poked into my eyes.
I tried to remember his name but all I could think of was that he was the Don of the Luciano family.
He was behind this, how can he fight his neighbor?What right does he have to fight the leading Italian mafia?
One of his men slipped the tape away from my mouth, I groaned at the pain, licking my lips as I glared at him.
"I know what you're thinking, Nora. But I didn't fight Zavi, the Russian mafia did, I just took you because you're the one I want."
My eyes raised in confusion, "Why would you want me?." I questioned, wanting to break his head for pulling that stunt he did back at the car.
He stepped closer to my face, "You're worth more than you know, Nora."
I didn't understand him, he was speaking nonsense, things I don't fucking understand.
"You planned the attack on me at the hotel?." I asked, to be sure he was the one searching to kill me.
"No. Another one who was interested in your boss."
My mind wandered off to Alice, was she the one that tried to kill me?
I can't believe I have many enemies.
Suddenly he knelt beside me, I looked into his eyes and noticed Mr. Luciano had emerald eyes just like mine, his shadowed brown hair was slicked back, his teeth pulled into a menacing grin.
"Zavi will kill you.." I spat.
"Let him come, but before that, my men would like to taste you, I heard you're sweet underneath."
Fear gripped me, what the fuck did he just say now?
My eyes flicker down to his men who grinned, lustfully looking at me like idiots.
He turned around to leave.
"Luciano," I called his name, my blood boiling.
He turned around, "You disgust me," I yelled as I mustered more spit on my mouth and poured it on his face.
There was silence.
He didn't flinch, he didn't even blink. Seconds turned to minutes as he stared at me, his green eyes darkened quickly.
My saliva dripped from the tip of his nose before hitting the concrete.
I didn't see it coming, a loud slap landed across my face, I saw stars, it was so heavy that I blacked out for the second time today.

Zavi Coville.
"Matteo…." I yelled and threw the glass across the room, the sound of it shattering at the wall made Alec step back.
"Zavi, you have to calm down."
"Calm down, you say? What did you do before they took her? I fucking asked you to find who the spy is."
I can't believe they took her out of my hands, the Russians were just an excuse, a plan to distract us.
My Nora! What could they be doing to her right now?
"We're doing everything we can to…"
"You're not doing enough. She's out there in pain, Alec. I can feel it." I stated shakily. My voice was hoarse from yelling.
"We're more than that, we're stronger than anyone out there. Show them what you got man. Show them no one messes with our family, your men are waiting out there, we're gonna get her back."
I stood up and walked outside.
I stared at the hundred loyal faces waiting for my order.
From the corner of my eyes, I saw the bitch Irene.
"I know where she was taken, boss." She told me.
At least I have someone who knows how to get information fast, I had men who were ready to fight with me and I have a brother who's been with me till now.
"Nora, we're coming for you!."
