Chapter 134: Grinding Perfection (1)
"Oh... Minato would cream his pants if he saw the real thing..."
Kai strains a smile. As if his presence wasn't destructive ENOUGH for the Shikkotsu Forest, he stares at the mindless 'monster' layered with red veins of dark chakra, two circular white orbs for its eyes, and a gaping pit for its mouth as it tosses its head up and begins to compress visible orbs of blue and red chakra into a dark purplish mass...
Four of its menacing tail swings behind, cutting through the air with startling force.
Meanwhile, the tiny slug within Kai's right sleeve, staying next to the coiled cinnamon whispers, "Kai-san, the main body is informed... she is setting up a perimeter to not let any other summoned beast enter."
Kai sighs and smiles, "Thank you, Lady Katsuyu..." He then dons an octopus mask for safeguarding his appearance. His skin then shifts to a darker, deeper tone and his skin itself becomes quite rough to the touch. Scales cover the ends of his limbs, forming the claws of a drake, and two horns made out of hardened skin sprout over his forehead.
*Roaaar*
The beast roars and instantly swallows the large mass of chakra before opening its mouth again and shooting a mighty blast—
*Zing*
With a sharp buzz, a ray of electricity tears through the devastating Bijudama while Kai quickly forms three hand seals and blows a massive gust that pushed away the resultant explosion. It doesn't matter though. Kai's equally piercing railgun tears into the beast and shoots out from behind. In fact, the damage caused by Kai's attack overshadows the beast by a large margin but appearing next to the beast, he slams his palm— well, precisely, he slaps the beast in a level of strength that could only be contended if not surpassed by Tsunade and next thing you know, the seal activates.
The beast roars in anguish, clutching and clawing its face until skin begins to form over its menacing chakra filaments in grotesque patches. Kai's gaze grows gloomy at that but he bears it. If he... can go through hell for strength, then he must hold others to a somewhat similar standard. He couldn't get cold feet now... because that would mean betraying HER trust and confidence in him.
Soon, the four tails of the beast dissipate into the natural surroundings of the Shikkotsu Forest and a horribly injured Kushina falls to her knees. Kai is quick to catch the unconscious girl and uses Mystical Sage Palms to quickly heal her back to her perfect health. Then again, Kushina does proclaim a crazy level of regeneration thanks to the angered fox that DID cause all of this.
Kushina's eyes flutter open and she groans, "Did I go berserk again?"
"Not as bad as your first period," Kai smirks only making her chuckle in exhaustion. She didn't even have the strength to engage in a banter at this moment as Kai whispered, "Let's go back..."
"Yeah," Kushina nods, "But it's already the seventh time... that I got out of control..."
"We'll find a way," Kai shrugs, "After all, you're one of the big brains behind this new seal. Maybe it'll be you who finds a way to deal with this situation."
"Then I'll be smarter than you, dattebane," she gives a weary yet cheeky grin as both of them disappear alongside the residents of his sleeves.

"Is she still sleeping?" It's been a few days since Mikoto's return and two weeks have already passed in a blink of an eye since Kai's return. Only Kai, Mikoto, and Nono sat around the dinner table with a large serving of rice for everyone alongside soup, veggies, and meat. More of which was set on the kitchen counter and waiting to be served as they chowed through the food on the table.
"Well," Kai hums with a full mouth, "Losing control exhausts her chakra to the bare minimum. I guess, even Kushina's chakra is simply nothing in front of Kyubi given how it only needs a sliver of its strength after we loosen the seal a bit to put Kushina out of commission. She needs to train a lot more, though." Not something he would lord over Kushina but it's the truth. If she wishes to contend with the Kyubi... she needs more strength.
But strength isn't the answer now, is it?
If that is true then B, the perfect Jinchuriki of Gyuki would be unimaginably strong at such a young age.
"The good news is," Nono chuckles, "Kushina is 'sparring' with one of the best this world has to offer."
"I wouldn't consider myself the best yet," Kai shrugs.
"She obviously meant Kyubi," Mikoto scoffs.
"No, I meant Kai," Nono interjects, and while Mikoto rolls her eyes, both, Nono and Kai wink at each other.
"Anyway, trying to help Kushina gain control of Kyubi would take longer than expected," he sighs, "But you guys should see her... after she sprouts four tails... that is a beast in its own definition. I wonder how strong Kyubi is in its entirety..."
"Why not try and kidnap this 'B?' You could walk on the edge once again, maybe act alone?" Nono proposes, "Or, just try and gain the trust of that individual to explain how he became a perfect Jinchuriki."
"It's pretty simple," Kai answers, "If you have someone in your body who can lend you its strength... then, of course, you need to come to terms with that being. The problem is... Kyubi doesn't necessarily communicate... and we figured that if we could somehow defeat it 'fairly', we may just get through it on a surface level..."
"Geez... an enslaved war weapon is not listening to you, who would have thought," Mikoto giggles and shakes her head.
"If it's really the strongest... Madara Uchiha would not have controlled it. Hashirama Senju would not have defeated it. And Mito Uzumaki would not have enslaved it... but it's so angry because of what the three of them did. Kushina needs to do something else..." Nono mumbles thoughtfully.
"What do you have in mind?" Kai inquires.
The almost blonde brown-haired girl shrugs, "How would I know? I'm just saying you could not adopt the options previously taken..."
"Damn, that's genius!" Kai sneers with sarcasm dripping in his voice.
"Hey," Nono pouts, sipping on her sake, making Mikoto's eyes twitch. The Uchiha STILL did not like the fact that Kai and Nono are used to drinking while being so young. It's not about physical health but mental!
"As usual, for me, the only answer is to keep on grinding. We'll get through Kyubi in time... hopefully."
They nod in agreement. After all, grinding religiously has worked for Kai until now. There is no reason to believe otherwise.
"Oh, before I forget!" Mikoto's glare sharpen, "I need YOU and not a clone for tomorrow evening!"
Kai shrugs as Nono simply giggles at the double meaning of it. After all... Mikoto made it clear that his clone couldn't accompany her to tomorrow's ceremony. It's rude, she said...

It's a festive day for many in the Uchiha Clan today. After all, Fugaku Uchiha is marrying!
Being a rather popular genius of the clan, nay, the village, and one of the few younger elites, his existence is of great importance to the clan and the village. But the marriage itself was not of true importance. It was a ceremony. But Fugaku, as pragmatic as ever, didn't care for such trifles but what he could gain for the clan, and that, in itself, is a rare trait in the world of Shinobi. Many are logical, yes, by only a rare few are as... well, selfless to such a degree.
Kai had to admit that Fugaku didn't really do ANYTHING about him and Mikoto. He just accepted the situation and moved on. The same was the case with Sarachi's birth and being the successor of the clan instead of Fugaku and again, the man just accepted the situation and moved on.
This earned Fugaku Kai's respect— it was only natural.
Kai, Mikoto, Hizashi, and his wife Umi, sat around one table. As one of the three advisors, Hizashi was the only one to be invited to the wedding ceremony who wasn't part of the clan directly or indirectly. Not even the Hokage was invited to the occasion or the Aburame elder.
'Man... Danzo would have had a field trip with Hiruzen by filling his ears with all sorts of paranoid shit and then sucking him off...' Kai snickers internally.
Dressed like others, Kai wore a traditional robe-like black attire while Mikoto adopted a white floral-patterned Kimono.
"Say, Hizashi-san," Kai turns to look at the stern-looking youth almost transitioning into a look befitting a proper man with a pair of milky, pupilless white eyes, "Why did Fugaku invite you?"
Hizashi raises his brows at the question and looks at his former comrade-in-arms during the second war and sighs, "Uchiha Fugaku did not invite me. Uchiha Yami, one of my colleagues, did..."
"So, Yata..." Kai mutters and then blinks, "Ah, I meant Father-in-law," he smirks over at Mikoto's frown and adds, "You think Father-in-law wants to recover some of the relationships with the Hyuga clan? Or just an all-out dojutsu challenge to see who is the best dojutsu clan?"
"Please," Mikoto rolls her eyes, "Father won't be that immature..."
"Anyway, if the Uchiha clan wishes to have a better relationship with the Hyuga Clan, it won't be through us..." Umi smiles sadly, eliciting Hizashi to sigh, too.
Their dilemma was rather well-known.
The Hyuga Clan simply despised Hizashi... really. The arrogant pricks were too hurt when Hizashi became an advisor and got the seal on him and his wife removed.
"Here you are, Mikoto," Kyo walks over to their table with a gentle smile while holding a dashingly dressed Sarachi in her arms, "Would you help me with Sarachi-chan? He's acting a bit fussy..."
Mikoto blinks as Kyo clears her throat somewhat, "And Hyuga Umi-chan, was it? I am Mikoto's stepmother. It's nice to make your acquaintance."
Umi blinks in surprise and returns the greeting just as politely.
Kyo's arrival wasn't meaningless, as she reveals her purpose with a 'tired' sigh, "Mikoto, your father can be a handful at times. Now he is getting drunk with the groom and expects Kai-kun and Elder Hyuga to join him. Can you believe him?"
The remaining two women only thin their lips and look at their man as Kai and Hizashi roll their eyes.
"I'll try and keep Father-in-law honest then," Kai chuckles and stand up as Kyo finally jabs honestly, "Kai-kun, YOU are the last person I expect that from."
"Fine," he scoffs in return, "I've been relieved of father-in-law's responsibility. I guess I'll find him a better maid, too."
Mikoto holds back a smirk while Kyo deadpans slightly before accepting the burn and just shaking her head.
