Chapter 7: Powering Up
It took him a while to process all of the information. Soon his eyes became clear as he focused on the screen.
"I still have more than seven hundred Dao Points, let's make another medium."
"System, use 10 Fragments of Unnamed Beast Dao that came from Volcanic Lions to synthesize a Medium."
[Ding.]

Once more, Liu Feng made an instant decision and selected "Yes".

As previously, Liu Feng saw the transparent screen and the floating paper scroll.
He clicked on it, and a lot of information appeared.

He continued with his Beast God Series and said, "This time let's go with Beast God's Claw Art."
"Perhaps I'll finish this series eventually", He wondered.
[Ding. Do you wish to proceed with 'Beast God's Claw Art'?]
"Yes.", Liu Feng did not hesitate.
[Ding. Do you wish to initiate the 'Beast God's Claw Art' Martial Technique using 50 DP?]
"Yes," He made the decision to learn this Martial Technique.
The same as previously, he entered his mind and watched all those mysterious patterns on the scroll change into tiny light particles and assimilate within. He had the same sensation as when he first began learning the "Beast God's Movement Art." This time, he had the impression that he had changed into a fierce Volcanic Lion. It was different from the Crimson Lion he had previously seen. It exuded the grace and amazement of a King. In his vision, he saw numerous beasts lowering their heads to bow to him and accepting him as their ruler.
Soon he exited his trance and took a little more time to process this new information.

"System, I believe that the "Initiated" part refers to my level of expertise with it. Is that correct?

"What levels follow after this?", He asked curiously.
[The following levels - Initiated, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Master, Grandmaster, etc.- are used to categorize proficiency in various techniques. The grade of a technique also affects proficiency as well. One cannot acquire Grandmaster realm prowess, for example, by practicing a mortal grade method. Every level requires a different level of proficiency with the technique to achieve.]
After going through the information, he just received, he had a lot of questions.
"System, can I use Dao Points to increase my proficiency in these techniques?"
[Ding. No]
[Ding. However, It is possible to improve the Host's physique that is more suitable for cultivation. The host can spend 1000 Dao Points to enhance his physique and get the ability to cultivate.]
Liu Feng had an odd expression on his face as he felt his important question was turned into a sales pitch.
"Again? What the heck is up with this 1000 Dao Points to get better physique stuff? Are you in some kind of rush?" He disregarded its advice since, given the nature of this world, he thought the system may be attempting to warn him.
"System I am aware that I cannot use any Elemental powers when I am unable to cultivate, but what proportion should I use while synthesizing elements with any martial techniques? Do I always need to use 10 elemental Dao Fragments each time with any technique or I can just use 10 Elemental Dao Fragments to synthesize any technique? Also…."
Regarding his system's magical synthesis ability, Liu Feng had several questions. He asked the system many questions throughout the course of the following several minutes.
[Ding. Mortal Grade Martial techniques art considered Grado 0 techniques. The System categorizes any technique into distinct grades starting from Grade 0. To begin cultivation, one must use techniques that are grade 1 or more. As martial techniques from Grade 1 onwards utilizes the practitioner's inner qi to increase its power.]
[Until the technique reaches saturation, the Host can any number of elemental dao fragments to any technique. When such a scenario is available, further information will be available.]
[Ding. The distinction between martial techniques and cultivation techniques is that martial techniques are used to regulate the flow of qi in one's dantian and externally display it. On the other hand, cultivation techniques are utilized to gather qi in one's dantian from nature. The most basic use of a martial technique is the elemental manifestation of the cultivator's qi.]
Liu Feng needed some time to process all of this data. Despite the fact that he had certain preconceived notions due to the amount of fiction he had read in his prior life, this information was still lifesaving for him.
He concluded his almost hour-long bath session after some time. All the wounds were nearly healed. He had no visible wounds, but nevertheless, he felt there were some internal injuries.
Since it was already past noon, he made the choice to return to his base, eat, and relax.
He made the decision to practice his martial arts in the afternoon. He began by using his [Beast God's Movement Art]. He began mimicking the methods that he saw in his vision while recalling it. Surprisingly, it seemed as though he remembered it exactly as it was.
'This might be because of the system', he thought but he disregarded it without giving it any attention.
After ten to fifteen rounds of strange movements, he eventually became somewhat proficient in it. He kept doing the same thing until he was able to perform it freely.
He took a little rest before beginning to practice the Beast God's Claw Art. He kept at it until he was at least fairly adept at using it.
The following morning, he got up early and began his martial arts practice after washing himself up. He had made the decision to quit hunting for a few days and concentrate only on his training.
Finally, after three days of nonstop training, there was some improvement in his techniques.

He felt he has achieved a high level of proficiency in both of his techniques. He worked on his practice for a few more days. But contrary to his expectations, his proficiency did not advance to the Intermediate.
One morning, a few days later, Liu Feng was sweating furiously. He has just concluded his morning martial arts practice session.
He looked at his status, but his proficiency was unchanged. It was still at the beginning level.
"System, how do I improve my proficiency on these techniques?", he asked the question to the system.
[Ding. The host is advised to practice them until he advances to the next level.]
"...", He was speechless. He was frustrated. Previously he thought that he will be easily able to master these techniques using his system but it seems that is not the case.
Although he felt it was obvious that he had seen himself developing the martial techniques to a higher degree of proficiency, he still believed in the system's judgment.
After over a week of break, he made the decision to test his hunting prowess today and put his recently learned martial techniques to the test. Liu Feng thought it will be a necessary step to increase his proficiency with the techniques.
