Chapter 11: Why(2)

VISERYS MALFOY

My hands and feet were bound with a rough textured cloth, unexpectedly it prevented me from channeling mana from my core.

"That makes my job even tougher than it already is" I inwardly thought.

The fire sealing array was already a pain in the ass, now this...I was simply out of options.

"Ahh fuck me"

I was currently lying on the floor of the village's clinic, my hand and feet felt a chilly sensation because of the cold marble, but I didn't mind it.

Samantha kept injecting hallucinogens into my bloodstream but I didn't resist.

"I can't let them know that I am conscious", I thought

Samantha and Nicholas were not born here, nor were they blind like the rest of us.

Their origins were unknown to us but their healing abilities were quite useful, so we let them in and offered them a place to stay.

" It backfired, didn't it?"

As per Rias, I should be able to see again, I don't know what mumbo jumbo happened in the last 12 hours or so, nor did I care.

"If only my eyes weren't bound too, I would have confirmed it myself, alas all I can do is wait right now".

Before I could ponder any further, I heard a shrill coming from a dozen meters away.

" Another twist in the story? hmm maybe."I thought

SAMANTHA

I was currently in the middle of writing down everything that transpired in the last couple of hours, lady Hillary always demanded a 10-page-long report.

She always wanted to be in control of everything, the naive-looking commander of mine was actually a fox underneath all the beauty.

"So they are here, I still need a couple of more minutes though to finish this report, I will let Nico handle this for the time being," I thought

I could see the silhouette of two men in the distance one was slim and tall and the other one was short and thick.

" there should have been four of them, where are the rest?"

My inner paranoia resurfaced, something was wrong but I couldn't put my finger on it.

I kept peeping through the window with the back of my eye as I tried to finish my report as soon as possible.

"Why does the short swordsman have one hand on his sword? is there someone hiding in the woods or something"

I got the answer a couple of seconds later as I saw a lightning-fast slash aimed at Nico.

"Wtf", I exclaimed loudly.

My hands trembled as I spilled all the ink on my blouse.

Before I could compose myself I saw Nico lying in a pool of his own blood, the swordsman further prepared to launch another attack.

" No, don't...please", I softly mumbled as tears started running down my cheek

I started gasping loudly as the whole world around me started spinning

"W..why? We have always been loyal to lady Hillary" I wailed

I wanted to follow my broken heart and jump out there to fight those mongrels .. tear them from limb to limb and...

But I was rooted on the spot, my heart was palpitating as my breathing was rugged, after a couple of seconds I heard the sound of footsteps getting louder and louder.

"Oh, they have come for me now... What should I do?

How do I escape?

Fighting them will result in instant death.

I started to panic, I didn't know what to do... then suddenly I heard a thumping sound, It was coming from the room beside me.

" How tf are they even conscious?"

I ran towards the source of the incoming sound.

What I found was an old man weirdly shaking his body, he was trying his best to get my attention, having no other choice.

I decided to free him.

VISERYS MALFOY

"Ahh, finally this lass has noticed me, my ass still hurts from all the vigorous bouncing though"

the cloth covering my hands and feet was being ripped down in not so neat manner, her hands were trembling and I could hear her gasping for air.

"Poor girl, she is such a mess right now", I inwardly thought.

after a couple of more seconds, the cloth covering my eyes was removed and I could finally open them.

The room was dark to begin with so I was not overwhelmed by the light entering my eyes.

I could vividly see the dark-skinned woman standing in front of me, her blouse was covered with blue-covered ink, and her eyes were filled with tears.

I felt a little sympathy for her, but I quickly remembered that she was the reason I was here as a prisoner in the first place.

What I need the most was more information

and I could hear the thumping of footsteps from across the room, the sound kept getting louder and louder.

Wasting no more time, I channeled mana through my light green core and tried to open a dimensional portal.

" Follow me," I said

"Where does this lead to?" she asked

"I don't fucking know", I added
