Chapter 3: Your Thoughts..

CHAPTER THREE

It's a nice Saturday morning, the cock had crowed and people were prepared already for the day. The wine tappers set out to tap wine. The farmers with their farming tools left to their respective farms. Of course it is a rural village setting where Jim was raised.

"My husband, the news flying around everywhere now is about young people, especially girls, infected with the deadly HIV is really disturbing" Mrs Angela said as she locks their house door.

"I will appreciate it if you quickly lock that door and let's move! I know you say all of this because of your son in the City. He should be wise enough to run a test with a lady before dating her" Mr Bennett said appearing impatient.

Mr Bennett and Mrs Angela are Jim's parents. Mr Bennett is rather an impatient man and his wife knew this so she hurried up and walked down with her husband. They are farmers and that morning they were visiting their farm.

They discussed while they were on the road to their farmland.

"The disease,I heard,is incurable and because they said it is spreading there it is best we find a good woman here for our son to be on the safer side" Mrs Angela said.

"Oh this woman you talk too much dear..let's just concentrate on where we are going because I don't think that all this things you are saying is necessary. Jim is quite educated and probably knows the right steps to take"Mr Bennett said.

"Rumors have it that the only child to the business tycoon in the next town is infected with the disease" Mrs Angela persisted.

"I hope you don't want me to change to another direction and abandon you here to continue on this topic? I know it's those lazy friends of yours that are feeding you richly with all this news.. you should rather pity the victims of the disease than shame them..there could be a cure you know" Mr Bennett said reasonably.

"Pity? This young girls endanger themselves too much and it's alarming. If you refuse to abstain then protect yourself, period!" Mrs Angela said with traces of hatred in her voice.

"Angela, have you not been a youth? we were once young and wild so stop being a judgemental hypocrite and drop that topic" Mr Bennett said and that seemed to humble his wife.
