Chapter 2: Chapter 02 - Felix
I was taking that dark narrow alley as I was too late for my meeting. It was the only shortcut I could have thought of, when I was really messed up with the time. I hurried a little bit more and my legs were numb. I've did so much things today!
I have never taken this path before though I have heard many about this dark narrow alley, called AR avenue. It was the kingdom of thugs, thieves, and murderers. I am not afraid of them but as our manager was strict about every small thing, we could not ever take this path. If he knew about this, that I had took this path, I would have been in a hornet's nest.
Thud...
I heard something fall far away. I suddenly remembered how a bully tried to pick on some boy on the other road of this alley. I knew this was a common incident in this alley, so I walked away without interfering in their business since that boy seemed he don't care about that bully as he had his hands in his pockets and walked slowly.
I ran back along the path where I saw them, blaming myself. I should have been concerned about him. I was shit-scared that something had happened to that boy.
But when I got to where they were, I stopped as fast as I ran, as I was surprised by the sight. My mouth opened wide and my eyes had widen.
"Don't you dare to cross my path again, That day, I won't stop here."
She was half sitting on her feet and bending toward that thug. The funniest situation was, he; the thug was lying on the ground and trash boxes were all over him, around him. He whined while pressing his right shoulder with his left hand.
I could not resist or I could not even utter a word. I was just standing there with my hilarious facial expressions as my feet have glued to the ground by the sight. That boy has become a girl! I was dumbfounded.
I did not know what happened when I return here but I could not believe my eyes when I saw the thug lying on the ground moaning in pain and the person, who I thought was a boy, was actually a girl.
She was wearing a hoodie and her shoulder-length short black hair swayed with the wind. She stand up giving that thug an icy stare and picked up her cap, which was on the ground some steps away.
She gathered her hair and put on the cap. That was why she looked like a boy. She gave him a death stare again and walked towards me. But she walked away passing me as if I did not exist. I was curious and surprised at the same time. That was the first time someone did not care about me.
"Aaaaahh..."
I came to my senses when the bully moaned in pain again like he had held it until she left.
"When are you coming? #code red BRO..."
It was from my group member. I wanted to check about that thug but it was not the right time and also he was not worth it. 'He had done so many wrongdoings or may have done before and someone from his group will take care of him.' I told myself and ran again.
This time I hyped up myself because I have no time left there for excuses.
As soon as I entered the GC building from the backdoor, the bodyguards took me to the preparation room on the 3rd floor.
"Damn, dude!"
"Where have you been Felix?"
"What the hell is wrong with you?"
"Man! Did your watch stop working?"
"Where is your phone dude?"
They were all over the room. some were wondering and some were talking with tension when I entered the room. They all, my group mates gathered around me and asked various questions. To be honest, the only face I saw was our manager's and it was full of anger.
"It's not the time for interrogating. Let's hurry up and wrap this up soon."
His tone was like, 'I will catch you later.' I escaped there under the guise of getting ready. I was sure he will not let this slide this time.
"VC... VC... VC..."
When we get on the stage, the only thing we could hear was the cheering sound of our fans. We looked at each other with satisfaction. They all got wide smiles on their faces, including me.
"I'm proud of us guys!"
Louis shouted, grinning. It was the opening moment of our 10th concert and our mics were still off. The stage was covered in darkness and operators lit up an ellipsoidal light. Our group has 6 members. I, Felix Strainer, my best friend, Talon, and Xander, Loius, Magnus, and Orpheus. We sang all kinds of songs.
We all wore black trousers, red T-shirts and black jackets as our theme color was red and black. We had silver chains hung on our side pockets. Our group name was Vampire Chapter, so we wore makeup also according to that theme.
We first started to sing our favorite and popular song.
"We nailed it!"
Talon cheered in excitement on the way to the changing room. We all nodded in a thrilled mood even though we were exhausted from our two-hour concert.
"But we should practice more Felix. don't you think so?"
Magnus uttered. I agreed with him. We all missed some steps of our choreographies in new songs as we were exhausted. But the audience did not mark it because we hid it subtly.
Even if we had done ten concerts until now, still it was just a year and a half since we had placed our step in this industry. We have to learn more and we have to go more.
"Felix, I need to talk with you."
I was thinking about that girl I met in the alley when our manager rampaged into the changing room.
"You had gotten into trouble, dude."
Talon tapped my shoulder while others mocked me.
"Good luck bro.."
Orpheus waved focusing on his phone. I saluted them.
"What's the matter La?"
The manager's name was Lazarus but we called him La as a nickname though Lazarus is way too long to call.
"You know what is the matter better than me, young guy."
He was angry.
"You should be more responsible as the leader of the Vampire Chapter and today is a big day for us. How can you? huh..."
His expression was totally disappointed. I sighed.
"I know. I'm not going to apologize because I had my reasons to be late and I don't want to mention them. But I can certainly tell you that I'm not going to do this again. I promise."
I was serious and before he said something, I left. I didn't know why, but I remembered that girl suddenly and smiled.
