Chapter 1: Prologue

The city of Limen was the most developed and most prosperous in the Lower world. Life in this city was never stagnant. It was constantly active. Limen had assumed the role of a port and commercial city due to its geographical location. Almost every season of the year, its ports would fill up. Those who stayed in Limen usually did not leave immediately. They stayed there for months. Since each buyer has thousands of seller options, the number of traders making the right moves is growing, and the quality has constantly been increasing. Trade was not the only breakthrough of this city, which has become wealthy as it is. Developments in the entertainment sector have also become noticeable. Now it had become a must-have custom of this city for merchants who came to trade to leave a considerable amount of money and a few nights with it for a classic "Limen entertainment."

Although Limen's entertainment was famous, it was only a tradition of visitors from outside. Limen's own people worked day and night to develop the city. They were content with short breaks. This pace of work was their life motto. But, of course, slaves were one of the main wheels of this cycle. Although the rate of work of the Limenians was commendable, they had to provide their incapacity in terms of raw strength with slaves. For this reason, Limen became one of the cities that traded the most slaves with Arieth. And even then, the number of slaves was so great that not counting the resident population, the number of slaves constantly working for the limen was several times higher than that of purebred Limenians.

A wise Limenian named Nagoder ruled this city. He divides his time into three parts. He devoted his first piece entirely to his people, chatting with them and listening to their problems. In the second part, he would look at the city's needs and the latest situations of the work to be done in a political sense. He would only look at their current situation and give his approval because Ilain, his right-hand man, was interested in management for himself. Ilain was like Nagoder's own son. He had taken him in and raised him since he was a little boy. And now Ilain was looking after his management affairs. Finally, Nagoder spent time with his family. Since he knew that the deterioration of his psychology would affect the entire public, he would not neglect to take time for himself. On the other hand, the crowd would not have dropped what a reasonable person Nagoder is from their mouth. Even if his management was deteriorating, this perception was enough to always keep him in the lead.

In the middle of the spring season, Limen woke up to a new day. All city residents were dominated by an extra excitement, a bustle that day. A large community of merchants from the upper world was going to anchor in the ports of Limen today. Nagoder had divided his day into only one part today and had made gaudy preparations for the worthy guests of the upper world. Negotiations with the upper world played a significant role in the law of the two worlds and in the fact that the port became an even larger trading base. Nagoder had never felt such a substantial burden on his shoulders before this time. Nagoder ordered Ilain to check the preparations one last time and set off for the port to meet the guests who were almost on their way.

Ilain watched Nagoder's progress from behind. Today would have been when Nagoder brought that broad back to the ground. Today was supposed to be a white page, just opened for his race. But, Ilain took out a bottle from his pocket, held it to the light, and looked at the redness of the liquid. This dark red liquid was a potion that he created himself. "Hate," said Ilain from within. That was the name of the brew. He would charge the person who drank himself with an endless rage, making him attack everything that came in front of him. If Nagoder could drink this potion during the negotiations, Nagoder would be discredited, and he could literally take over the administration. Perhaps in this way, relatives of Arieth could live a little more comfortably. For a long time, Nagodere had presented proposals for legislation to facilitate the lives of slaves from Arieth, but Nagoder knew that the backbone of Limen's functioning was slaves.

For this reason, Ilain's draft laws had always been rejected at the last stage. Ilain ran to the kitchen and added his own potion to the glass of one of the cold drinks to be served. He handed the glass to one of the maids. He instructed the maid to give this glass to Nagoder. He knew that even if the maid realized that Ilain had caused this, he could quickly silence her. He could even blame it directly on the maid. After all, he was the most authoritative person after Nagoder.

Nagoder and the merchant group of the Upper world entered the mansion. He immediately took them to the largest meeting room. The hall displayed all the richness of the harbor. Giant crystal chandeliers, gold-plated embroideries, and a floor of large jewelry. Despite this, there were no unnecessary items in the room. In the eyes of Upper world merchants, this room was a perfect harmony of contrast of wealth and simplicity. Still, they weren't supposed to look weak. They were impressed, but they had to occupy a high position in the eyes of their future partners. So, they concealed their affectation and returned to Nagodere. Nagoder was pointing to a young boy with wheat skin. He says how much he trusted this child. He couldn't stop praising him. They all sat down at the table together. They began to talk about the trade and politics of the two worlds. After a while, several servants came in. They offered glasses. At that moment, the merchant's eye fell on Ilain. The boy kept his eyes on Nagoder. He seemed very excited; even drops of sweat were running down his forehead from excitement. The merchant thought how excited the boy was by these talks. Of course, he was excited to be involved in such a big event. Nagoder and the other merchants raised their glass to the partnership of the two worlds. Ilain was looking at Nagoder's face. Still, nothing had happened. When Ilain thought his potion wasn't working, a big rumbling was heard from the wall behind him. Ilain was hit by a piece of stone on his head and lost consciousness there.

The maid did not know what to do. She panicked. While the maid was about to give the cup to the monarch, an Upper world sorcerer snatched it from her hand and drank it at the door. Still, she thought, what could it be? Even if she gave the monarch another glass, how could the vizier know? She went into the meeting room and handed out the drinks. She avoided eye contact with the vizier as much as possible and left the room as quickly as possible. Walking down the hall, she heard a bass voice shouting behind him. That was the voice of the man who had just taken the glass from her hand. He was furious about something. He was cursing at the friend next to him. For a moment, the servant stopped and looked at this sorcerer's quarrel. At that moment, the frustrated sorcerer fell to the floor. The sorcerer who was trying to straighten up was drooling from his mouth. It was apparent that something was wrong. The sorcerer put his hand to his waist and grasped his wand. Sparks from the tip of his wand grew and turned red as he went at his friend. There was nothing but the ashes of his friend standing in front of him as he shouted curses. The sorcerer still did not seem satisfied. He directed his flames, this time towards the meeting room's walls. The walls of this solid mansion were torn apart by the fire of a delicate wand. The furious sorcerer entered the room where he had torn down the walls. Shouts and entreaties all around followed the entrance of the sorcerer into the room.

A master sorcerer had drunk the poisoned chalice. The sorcerer had given in to his rage and caused a massacre. He left the mansion and killed hundreds of people who came before him, but the embers in it could not extinguish the flames. The leading warlocks of the harbor had made long efforts to stop him. Although they killed the sorcerer as a result. They were able to extinguish the fire, but not the fire of revenge in the hearts of the warlocks, who had lost their friends. They began to harbor hatred towards the barbarians of the Upper world. What was taken from them would not come back. But warlocks could also inflict losses on the Upper world, like themselves. Maybe it would cool their hearts a little bit. The seeds of an endless war suddenly spread and sprouted on the ground.
