Chapter 2: Finally 18
The week has gone by so fast that it doesn't seem like my birthday is tomorrow. I'm pretty excited about it. Rosie came over and we talked about all the stuff that was planned. " Roxie I know that I am to hopefully meet my mate but I hope you find yours as well." I tell her. Roxie turned 18 a month before me. We were all excited for her to find her mate that day but she never did. Rosie and I talked for awhile longer then she went home. The next day everybody was setting stuff up for the party. Rosie came over so we could get ready together. We spent most of the time talking and laughing. By the time we had finished getting dressed, doing our hair, and make-up it was just about time for the party to start. As we are walking down stairs people have started to arrive. "Roxie I know that I am to hopefully meet my mate but I hope you find yours as well." I tell her. Roxie turned 18 a month before me. We were all excited for her to find her mate that day but she never did. After we were dress we headed downstairs to my parents. Soon the one by one everybody entered the pack house. My father, my mother, and myself greeted our guests and thanked them for coming to celebrate me getting my wolf. "Good evening Beta Asher. I see Alpha Ty isn't here with you today?" My father said. "Good evening Alpha Mitch. No, unfortunately Alpha Ty couldn't make do to some unexpected matters that he will be informing all Alpha of within a couple of days about but you will be seeing him within the week to talk about everything. He asked me to come in his place so he know there is no disrespect for your pack." Beta Asher told my father. "I look forward to speaking with him."
My father stated then they walked into the ceremony hall where the party is being held. After greeting all our guests I walked around talking to everybody while I was looking for Roxie. "Finally I found you. Where have you been?" I asked her. "Oh you know just chatting with people." She said smiling a big wolf smile. "Why are you so happy?" I asked her concerned. As we walked to the table with the food on it she had informed me that she could smell her mate and he was close but every time she got close the smell would fade. I told her I would be help her find him. I was so happy for her. After awhile it was time for the ceremony to start. I took my place next to my mother and father. My father thanked everybody for coming to celebrate this special day with us and gave a speech about how much I have grown and how proud he was of me. "I'm done talking everybody's ear off let get the celebration started!" He announced. Everybody laughed and continued their conversation that was until I started screaming in pain. "It has started!" My mother told me father and soon they were both by my side. Roxie was close by but not close enough to crowd me. I was thankful for that. With another bone snapping in and out of place I screamed.
"Take a deep breathe my child." I heard someone say but I couldn't make out who or where it was coming from. "Its almost over. Just relax and breathe. Do not try to fight. Fighting will only cause it to hurt more." The mystery person said. Soon I was able to relax I could finally see who was talking to me. It was the Moon Goddess herself. "My sweet child you have done it. You now have your wolf." She tells me. I look at her then down at my paws they were as white as the snow. I am in awe at how beautiful my wolf is. "Her name is Storm. I picked her just for you." I hear her tell me as I continue to check out my wolf. "Thank you Moon Goddess for blessing me with her." I say just as I open my eye I seen my mother and father just standing around me looking at me in amazement of how beautiful I am. I stand up and bolt for the wanting to run free and feel the wind on my fur. As I make it outside I look to the night sky and let out a loud howl that causes everybody to join in. I smile at my pack and everyone else has joined me for my first run. Thank you Moon Goddess Selene. I say to myself. Before I knew it we had been running for a couple of hours.
Soon we return home so everyone could ready to leave. I meet up with Roxie and before we could make it in the house Roxie turns around and locks eyes with Beta Asher from the Blood Moon Pack. "MATE!!" They said at the same time. I smile watching my best friend finally meet her true love. Soon everybody was gone and I had made my way up to my bedroom to get ready for bed. I lay there thinking if I would ever meet my mate.
