Chapter 3: ~The note
I walked into the house and the investigators left shortly after that. My heart was pounding and I knew that the investigators did not even believe a single thing that I said and they were probably going to question me the next day, but did not care about that at that time all I cared about was what my mum meant.
She said in the note:
"Hailey, don't trust anyone...no one."
I was certain it was my mum who wrote it, but the meaning was unclear. It was really giving me a hard time to think about the note. I realized that I hadn't eaten anything all day, so I decided to eat first then I would think about it harder.
I ordered a pizza, but as soon as it arrived and I opened the door the delivery man said scary things. "Are you here alone?" he asked in the scariest tone ever. "No. Why?" I asked. "Oh I see, enjoy your pizza," he said then it seemed like he was trying to look into my house."Thanks," I said then I blocked him and took the pizza from his hands. Then I slammed the door in front of him.
One of the maids asked me if there was something wrong, but I didn't mention the incident to her. "Can you tell the security guards to be extra alert?" I asked. She nodded and did as she was told.
I really wondered why my life was becoming more and more strange. I opened the pizza box and saw a note. As soon as I read the note and I threw the box on the floor. It asked, "Do you believe in life after death?" It was so creepy.
I practically ran out of the house and went to the hospital. I was exhausted and I couldn't take it anymore I was so sick of that day so I angrily walked down the hallway and bumped into someone.
"I am so sorry, I wasn't looking where-" I said and stopped speaking when I realized who I had bumped into, it was Ahmya. "Why are you here?" I asked. "I was just worried about you," he said. "Please stop! You are freaking me out really!" I said and just started crying hysterically.
People started staring in concern and I heard a nurse explaining to those people how my mum had just died and I was furious. "Who do you think you are to reveal people's personal business?" I asked angrily.
"I...I am sorry,"she said. Then I heard one of the ladies sitting there calling me a brat and I absolutely lost it. I grabbed her hair and said, "Hey, can't you shut your stupid annoying mouth up? Do you know how it feels when you're not only alone in this world the world is against you too? Do you? If not then shut your awful mouth,"I said before I was dragged off her by two nurses.
I saw the lady's face and it was priceless. "That wasn't nice, Hailey," Ahmya said after we had sat on a bench outside. "I didn't ask you," I said. "Don't you realize how petty you are acting?"Ahmya asked. "Can't you stop giving me lectures? I have only known you for two days!You are acting really strange it is creeping me out!" I shouted.
"Can you please stop acting like this,Hailey! You know this isn't who you are!" Ahmya said. "I said stop it you are creeping me out," I said. "No. I won't stop until you stop acting like this. You know this isn't who you are," he said.
"Then who am I?" I asked. "You were better than this. You were kind, nice and would never do that," Ahmya said.
I looked up at him and I had a feeling of deja vu. It was really strange it really felt so familiar. "Have we ever met before?" I asked. Then he suddenly looked at me in alarmed.
