Chapter 6: I Unknowingly Hugged Him
"Oh," Yeong exclaimed as he walked in, pointing at her.
"Hey," Siberia said, smiling.
"Woah! "How did you know I was here?" Yeong appeared perplexed yet ecstatic as he spoke.
"Your father..." She rose from the bed to make room for him to sit.
When Yeong heard the word "Father," it was enough for him to understand. "Ah, right. He did say that a caretaker would arrive soon, but I didn't anticipate it to be you.
"Well, surprise!" "We meet again," Siberia said, forming a V with her fingers.
"It most certainly is". He smiled as he sat down.
Siberia took a seat on the couch, set her bag down next to her, and took a bottle of water out. The fact that neither of them spoke made the atmosphere awkward. Siberia didn't really mind as she was used to not talking, but Yeong didn't like it. He wanted to strike up a conversation, but wasn't sure where to begin with. "So uh….." Before catching her eyes, he scratched his head and cast a sidelong glance. Are you...going to stay here all night?
Mr. Han didn't specify the timings, and Siberia didn't inquire, so she wasn't certain either. She however presumed it to be obvious that she didn't need to remain all night. "Probably not," she said with confidence.
"You're sure about that?" He smiled a little and raised his left brow.
Siberia chuckled awkwardly, looking down as she played with her fingers. "Not really"
"You should ask"
"Yea I will," Siberia said, now sensing the awkwardness in the air. She didn't like it so she taken the call to get to know him better.
Although Siberia didn't enjoy conversing with strangers, she was completely enthralled by him and somehow felt the need to learn more about him, to be close to him, and to know his darkest secrets. Siberia knew that she had to befriend him and the aftermath would probably be taking the next step, but she didn't focus on the aftermath yet. She was more concerned about the present situation. She had to break the tension between them and make things comfortable. It was almost like choosing the right chemicals that would successfully react together, an unbreakable bond.
Siberia positioned herself so that she was facing him directly by turning herself more toward the bed. "Since we'll be seeing each other more often now, we should get to know each other better". Without making a comment, he simply nodded in agreement and pulled out his phone.
"Shall we exchange numbers?" Siberia asked nervously as she sat there watching his every move.
"Ha, I almost said that. of course"

"Why does it seem so awkward now?" Yeong spoke as he laid down, his hands resting on his stomach.
She made quotation marks in the air and said, "I don't know, but we can make it, 'not awkward' "
Yeong was now sitting up and showing more interest. "Perhaps you should introduce yourself first," he suggested.
"Is there a possible alternative? She scowled and rubbed her forehead as she slouched down on the couch. "I really hate it when someone says to introduce yourself"
"Haha, I did hate it too, but it's a significant part of beginning to know someone. Shall I start?"
"Yes, that'll be wonderful". She gave him a radiant smile.
Before speaking, Yeong cleared his throat. "I'm Bak Ganghan Yeong, a 29-year-old. I was born and raised in Seoul, and during a brief visit to Whales, I studied English there". He indicated that she should continue.
"I'm Siberia Linson, as I mentioned last time, 26 years old" she said after a brief period of silence during which she felt troubled. She gave him a nervous smile before continuing. Yeong motioned for her to continue, and the reassuring expression on his face gave her courage. "I'm from England and I moved to Busan at 20 due to some particular reasons which I cannot specify yet and it's been almost 3 years I guess since I settled in Seoul"
"Oh you've been to Busan?"
Siberia no longer felt tensed, she felt at ease as if some weight was lifted off her. "Yea, I actually liked it there"
"Oh then what happened?" He leaned forward, taking in his pillow and placing it on his crossed legs.
"Well…" She scratched her head, taking a gander at him before looking away, feeling tensed again.
"I guess I'm moving onto personals way to quickly"
"It's alright" Siberia chuckled awkwardly.
Yeong felt bad because Siberia now appeared to be in a gloomy state; her shoulders were sagging, and the sparkle was gone.
You've read The Ugly Crown, right? Yeong swiftly changed the topic, lighting the gloomy atmosphere above her.
Siberia almost laughed as she looked up at him with wide eyes and the sparkle back.
"Daebak (That's awesome)! Are you a comic enthusiast?" He looked back at her with the same wide eyes that she looked him with.
"I'm currently reading volume 30" She spoke excitedly
"I'm reading 31"
"Woah!. You know Mr. Joy? He works at a library nearby the hospital, the second street to it. He gave it to me, the original copy as that was the only piece"
"Lemme guess, it was donated?"
"How do you know?" She looked at him stunned.
He swiped his hair back, looking proud. "It was I"
"OH MY!" She covered her mouth, placing both hands over it. "NO WAY!"
"I have almost all original copies of whatever I read"
"So lucky", she rested her hands on the edge of the couch, with a dreamy look, though not actually dreaming.
"I can give you some comics"
"You're gonna donate volume 31 after finishing it, right?" She spoke in a haste, ignoring what he said.
"I'll give it to you" he spoke, taking a gander at his phone.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so grateful." Siberia stood up and unknowingly gave him a hug while continuously thanking him until she realized what she had done.
'I unknowingly hugged him', she thought as she swiftly backed away.
