Chapter 2: The Legend of the Zygotes
The Zygotes had carried out a comprehensive study on Earth's natural resources with a view of determining the extent of usage, quantity left and the possible year of depletion. The report of the study which was presented by Zamata had sterling revelation for the world. ''Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to this presentation. I will show you the status of mankind on Earth especially as it relates to natural resources which are very essential to Earth's existence, human subsistence, prevention of social upheaval, preservation of mankind as well as ensure the safety of other planets; as you know the planets are interdependent when it comes to landscape ecology, population, climatic change and the solar system. Our research indicates that petroleum and crude oil will run out in about fifty years, this resource is mainly used for running of combustion engine. It does mean that it will get to a time when the world will not have this product again. Something drastic has to be done to safe mankind from using up crude fuel. Natural gas was estimated to be fully spent in fifty years as well; as we rightly know that this item is majorly used to provide lighting, cook, dry clothes, for heating, for powering engines as well as for air-conditioning. It's interesting to note that Earth has not taken careful measure to ensure the replacement of this vital item with something that is renewable. Coal is another natural resource that faces natural extinction, it is the cheapest of all the natural fuels; mainly used for generation of electricity, cement production, domestic use, heating homes etc., it is estimated that in seventy years, we shall run out of this resource. Again, Earth is just sitting down, doing nothing about this. In the next twenty years, we shall have water shortage; this will bring untold calamity upon Earth. Please note that in the event of water shortage on Earth, Eranus will not be spared; this is a simple fact. We must act fast! Lady and gentlemen, our research has shown that Earth minerals will last for five hundred years, we can say five hundred years is far away, but note that it is just around the corner. The much-acclaimed nuclear energy is also endangered. The short surplus of uranium has made this resource prone to extinction. Biomass and Metal Ores are also in the category of nonrenewable energy that will be fully depleted in the very nearest future. For all these minerals highlighted, there is enormous cost involved in the extraction, mining, processing and distribution. In addition, the environmental cost and degradation involved in the utilization of above resources are enormous. The Earth is warmer, the grassland is receding, the ozone layer is getting depleted, the fish resource is getting depleted, the glaciers are melting, tsunamis and flooding are destroying farmlands, the animal ecosystem are affected leading to the extinction of some animals. The resultant effect of the continued use of nonrenewable energy are staring us at full glare. Earth may not be able to feed herself again, this may lead to crisis, civil unrest and perhaps wars. Enough is enough! EARTH IS LAZY! Even though they have the resources to correct these anomalies, their political leaders are compromised; they gain materially from the woes befalling Earth. Eranus needed to invade in order to stem the tide of these woes. Thank you''

The World Freedom Party is an alliance of opposition persons whose sole responsibility was to repel the authority of the Zygotes. They consist of individuals who had vested interest in world economics; The members of the World Freedom Party were jittery because of this analysis; they were afraid of what the outcome of the analysis will mean, as their members have vested interests in all the mineral resources mined, processed and distributed. They called for an emergency meeting to deliberate on the Eranus analysis. Mr. Borrough is the president of the World Freedom Party, he presided over the virtual meeting ''Ladies and gentlemen, we have all heard the analysis, it appears we should expect the very worst. I hope Eranus will not place some form of ban or restriction on the production, processing and distribution of fossil fuels. They were apprehensive of what the outcome will be. The various stake holders had something to say.

Mr. Hitori Kamusi, the Japanese machineries and equipment manufacturer had no sweet words for the Zygotes as well. His company controls seventy percent of Earth's supply of machineries and equipment. He's the CEO of Samlak Holdings, they are the sole manufactures of heavy-duty equipment and machineries. ''Our products are of high quality, the people of Eranus cannot dictate how we are going to run Earth; we have to fight this to a logical conclusion'' Mr. Kimon Kalushi, the billionaire business man from South Africa had no sweet words for the Zygotes as well. His organization supplies about eighty percent of Earth's citrus fruits. The Zygotes grouse with the agricultural output of Earth is that the output is not adequate, going by the population and the rate of consumption; Zygotes claimed they have a better technology to move the Earth towards agricultural prosperity. Mr. Chen Yuan of the Chinese Republic was quite mad as he promised to use everything within his resources to bring the Zygotes down. ''We are dealing with a common enemy; there proposals are not backed by any scientific hypothesis, we are not sure of the system they are proposing; we have to stop these clowns. What happens to supply of robotics and household utensils?'' His company dominates Earth's supplies of robotics and Artificial Intelligence. The last to speak was Mr. Sergey, the Russian billionaire, he heads the Wonder Gas corporation of Russia, a conglomerate that controls cooking gas, heating gas, industrial and manufacturing gas requirements. ''This Zygotes are crazy; we have to fight to the last pint of our blood; we cannot accept their proposals''
From all indications, it appears all the aggrieved stakeholders of the World Freedom Party had their common interest to protect. They knew that the eventual outcome of the decisions of the Zygotes analysis may not be favorable to them
Back on the street of New York, a Zygote policeman was patrolling the street, he was able to scan the environment; he saw a school boy with a backpack. The student was accosted to know the content of the bag. It was found out that he had a short gun, bullets and other dangerous weapons in the bag. He was about going to unleash mayhem at school. He boasted ''I was going to kill my teacher, friends at school because the world system sucks'' News media had carried this as a breaking news. The Zygotes were about leaving the meeting when the news came in. Attention was quickly drawn to this news. The Zygotes were worried at what Earth had turned it.
The Zygotes had commissioned a committee to establish a new order considering what their analysis and observations on Earth was. The Committee was made up of Zamata who acted as the secretary, two male Zygotes from Eranus, two cloned Zygotes from each of the continents. Zamata would later on be the mole in the hierarchy of the Zygotes due to the revenge mission she purposely decided to execute because of the wrong done to her family on Eranus. She had vowed to subvert the mission in the best way possible; her collaborator yet unknown as she scouts vigorously with the view of enticing a strong Earth personality that could help her achieve her objective; this counter mission was not known to the Zygote Command.
It was a bright Saturday morning; the Zygotes had considered the Committee report's report. The following recommendations were made: The recommendations were read out by Zamata.
Earth will stop the extraction, processing and distribution of crude oil. To this end, Eranus will develop a prototype of cars that will utilize battery and solar; the timeline is one year. In addition, homes will of necessity be powered by solar energy. The timeline is six months. Eranus had enormous technology to achieve this; solar energy system will henceforth be used will henceforth be used at homes. All Earth activities that are related to the usage of crude oil resources are hereby suspended. All ancillary human activities that require crude oil by product will be improvised through an alternative means.
The extraction, processing and distribution of natural gases will be suspended in six months; this will allow Eranus to assist Earth to develop the solar system efficiently. To this end, Earth activities that requires natural gas will be achieved by the usage of solar power.
Additionally, Eranus had banned further extraction, processing, distribution of biomass, uranium, coal as well as guns at homes, schools, offices and public places. The Eranus high command had pledged to strengthen security everywhere. The sale and distribution of hard drugs was banned as well. Failure to comply with above directives will lead to the cloning of such persons into a Zygote.
All inmates in prisons, remand homes, correctional centres are to be cloned into Zygotes with immediate effect. This they believe will further enhance human capability to reduce crimes and life a better life. In Eranus, there are no criminals. The Zygoteship inculcates a higher discipline, better understanding of human existence. Moreso, drugs are not available to intoxicate or promote any state of utopia. Any pharmaceutical company found producing hard drugs will have its owner zygoted and the company turn into state ownership.
Such were the strict rules established by the Zygotes that corrupt politicians, business moguls who had benefited from the inefficiencies of Earth were angered by these rules and measures. Some notable politicians and dubious business men who could not take what was reeled out as rules, decided to commit suicide. At the last count close to forty thousand corrupt persons whose business dealings are shady had committed suicide worldwide.
There were agitations on the streets; these were fueled by the World FreedomParty, the drug barons, arms dealers, oil baron, auto makers, money launderers, criminals and other disgruntled persons who had benefited from the malaise plaguing Earth. Their opposition had become fierce and intense. They sponsored coordinated protests all over the world. They had vowed that Eranus and its command will pay dearly for the disruptions to Earth's economy. The Zygotes were determined as they zygoted protesters and other trouble makers; the result of the protests was that more Zygotes were made which was better for Earth, in the opinion of Eranus Supreme Command. However, this did not stop the worldwide protests as some persons could not believe that their means of dubious livelihood had come to an end.
