Chapter 42: Book 1 - The Rose-Red Tyrant: Chapter 22; Soundly Chastised
The screen turns on as the chapter title plays "Chapter - 22; Soundly Chastised".
It shows just after the duel had started, Riddle shouted out his signature spell/unique magic "Off With Your Heads!" As the collars reappeared on Ace and Deuce before they were able to cast any spells as they yelled "Bwaaaaah!"
Ace, seemingly in pain, complains "Urrrgh… Not again. I didn't even have time to finish my spell!" Deuce, also seemingly in pain from the collar, says "He shut us down like it was nothing…" Yuu thinks 'That was fast!' as she shouts out "It was all a blur!"
The headmage seeming to explain says "visualization is key to spell casting. The better you are at accurately visualizing your magic's effects, the stronger and more precise it will be. It would appear Mr. Rosehearts has finely honed his magic."
Grim flies into Yuu's arms as he cries out "Myah… They didn't stand a chance."
Riddle then gloats "Hmph. You didn't even last five seconds. That was all you had, and you thought to challenge me? You must be utterly humiliated. I guess my mother was right. A man who cannot follow rules is a man who cannot achieve anything." Deuce then counters, bothered by what Riddle is saying "Tch… We agree that rules should be followed. But forcing others to follow nonsensical rules like the ones you've enacted is tyranny!" Riddle then says "Then you agree that breaking rules is wrong. And in this dorm, I AM the rules. Therefore, those who cannot abide by my decisions deserve not the heads they use to complain."
Yuu thinks 'But that's not right!' and as she's had enough of holding her tongue shouts at Riddle "You can't just use rules to do whatever you please!" Now turning his attention towards her he says "If there were no penalties, no one would follow the rules."
Now turning to insults he continues to say to her "I have to wonder what sort of pitiful education left you unable to comprehend so simple a concept. Clearly, you were born to parents with no great magical capability. And as a result…" He pauses with a smug smirk before continuing "You lack even the basic education necessary to attend a school such as this. It's quite sad."
Yuu looks at him with a hurt and angry expression. Deuce seeing Yuu like this tries to stand up for her by saying "You little…" But Ace beats him to it by shouting "You shut your spoiled little mouth!" Before marching up to Riddle and punching him.
Riddle is shocked as he chokes out "Wh-what…?"
This causes Cater and Trey to shout out "Riddle?!" And the headmage to call out "Mr. Rosehearts?!" The students are also shocked as all of them shout out something along the lines of "Whoa! He just punched the housewarden…!"
But Grim cheers Ace on as he shouts out "Bam! Right cross the face!" While Deuce is more surprised than anything as he yells "A-Ace?!"
But Ace isn't listening to any of them as he tells Riddle "That's all I can take. Forget Riddle. Forget the duel. I'm done." Before walking away.
Meanwhile Riddle is holding his cheek as he shouts "That hurt! You… p-punched me?!"
Ace stops as he turns back around at Riddle and lectures him "Kids aren't trophies for their parents to flaunt. And the accomplishments of a child aren't determined by the worth of their parents. It's not your parents' fault you became a tyrant –or anyone else's. You've been here a year and haven't even made a friend who will tell you you're outta line. And that's on you." Riddle is surprised as he asks "What are you even talking about?" But Ace just takes it as a que he's allowed to keep going, so he continues "Yeah, maybe you had some rigid upbringing from a relentless helicopter-mom. Is that all you are? An extension of her? Can't you think for yourself? You call yourself the "Red Ruler"? You're just a baby who's good at magic."
Now Riddle is mad as he questions "Baby…? Did you just call me a "baby"?!" He then shouts "You don't know anything about me! You don't know anything about anything!" Ace just says to that "Nope, sure don't. And I don't need to. Your attitude tells me all I need to know –" He pauses before shouting at him "that you're nothing but a spoiled brat!" Riddle then shouts "Shut up, shut up, shut UP! My mother was right! And that means I'm right too!"
Trey then tries to walk over saying "Riddle, calm down. The duel is already over." The headmage also moves forward the point saying "Mr. Clover is correct. The challenger has been disqualified due to physical violence. If you do not cease your conflict now, I'll have you written up for breaking school rules!"
But that student who was crying that night shouts out "Ace is right, though! I've had enough of Riddle!" As someone threw an egg at Riddle causing him to shout out "Huh?!" Trey questions "An egg?"
Now Riddle is extremely angry as he shouts at the students "Who did that? Who threw that egg?!" But the students are silent, all of them done listening to him.
Riddle then bursts out into crazy laughter shouting "Heh heh… Ah ha ha ha! You say YOU'RE fed up?! I'M the one who's fed up with all of YOU! No matter how strict I am, no matter how many heads I remove, you keep breaking the rules! All any of you care about is doing what YOU want to do! If the guilty party won't come forward, then I'll pass judgment on all of you! Clearly, none of you value your heads!" Then on all of the students he uses his signature spell/unique magic by shouting "OFF WITH YOUR HEADS!"
All of the students who had gotten the collar then started to run as they yelled "Bwaaah! Let's get out of here!" As another student cries out "Urrrgh…"
But Riddle crazily laughs as he shouts "Ah ha ha ha! How do you like that, hm? Now no one can do a thing to me!" Then with venom lacing his voice he continues "Do you see now? My strict adherence to the rules was clearly the correct path!"
But Riddle seemed to forget the headmage was there as he shouts out "Cease this improper behavior now, Mr. Rosehearts. I expect better from you!"
Cater running up to Trey shouts at him, trying to be kinda discrete "Trey, if he keeps using his spell…" Taking a second to look around he continues "This could get ugly, fast!" Trey nods as he shouts out to Riddle "Riddle, stop this!"
But Ace isn't done as he shouts "Wow, way to totally prove me wrong here, pal! I call you a baby, and you immediately throw a temper tantrum!"
Riddle's face is now entirely red with anger as he shouts "Retract your comment immediately, or I shall skewer you where you stand!" But Ace doesn't seem to be taking the situation as seriously as he should as he says "No way. I ain't retraction' squat."
Riddle then screams out "YEEEAAAARGH!"
Cater then shouts at the first years "Dud, this is bad! You've G-2-G, now!"
But it's too late as everything turns darker and things start to float, bursting out of the ground. Grim shouts "The rose trees! They're floating!" Deuce shouts "This is some serious magic!"
Riddle shouts "Mighty roses!, tear this brute to pieces!"
Crowley shouts at Riddle once more "Cease and desist at once!"
Yuu shouts "Run for your life!" while knowing and thinking deep inside 'It's already too late…!'
Ace gasps as the roses surround him. Trying to kill or rather murder him.
But before any more is shown the screen fades to black as "To be continued" shows on screen before fully turning off.
